Elle, to take that one step further, if I can..........didn't someone from Tommy's household make the statement that Joe O. stayed at their place that night and slept in his clothes, which they found odd?

IIRC, Joe O stayed at Timmy's house. Didn't he ride down to Florida with a friend? I have always been skeptical about him being in such a hurry to get the h out of dodge immediately after Haleigh was reported missing.

I really wish that the ratgate event would have been investigated more thoroughly. Tommy was claiming that Ron threatened him. Makes you wonder, did Ron threatened him to keep his mouth shut about what he knew about the night that Haleigh disappeared? For some strange reason, I think so. I think that Tommy knows what happened that night. I think that he was shanghaied into helping with the coverup and maybe that is eating him up right now. Maybe Joe was with him at the time, and that is the reason he skipped town the next morning. I do believe that LE thinks that Misty is the key only for the fact that they think that she really knows what happened that night and can tell the truth and that they need this testimony to nail Ron. I think that they think that this is the only way that they can get who is responsible for Haleigh's disappearance.

I just listened to that Greenwood tape and am more confused than ever. He mentions 2:13am.....Yikes!

These LE are really mixing all kinds of things...don't know what to think...

Yes, it is indeed. I want to reiterate at this point, I do not think RC is directly involved in the disappearance of his daughter. I get the feeling he knows more than he's telling but I don't think he hurt her in any way. IIRC, because Haleigh had missed so much school, he was about to be held in contempt of court and maybe he thought he might lose her. This may have been a pre-arranged event. Family was all around and all of a sudden, Haleigh's gone, Joe's gone to Tenn., Timmy and family head for Mass., Mom/Pop Croslin head for Tenn. = everybody scatters.

Given the environment of so much drug use in that area, there's a lot of power behind that kind of world. I can only assume that is one of the reasons LE has had such a hard time getting information from the people they do find that may have information of interest, including RC. Haleigh has gotten lost in that mess and either may have to stay in a state of hiding or will mysteriously turn up. I wish I knew, but I do think she is alive.

It is eye witnesses to a crime scene that get it wrong most of the time.

I know, I know, but there actually was a sighting in Mass. remember? Cape Cod area? There was also one in Tenn. that was never confirmed. I find it interesting that within just a few days the Tenn. sighting occurred IIRC. We never heard anymore about it.

Look at the Duggard child - she was gone 18 years!

....People call in sightings about children often....hardly if at all ever pans out. The only case I ever heard was with Elizabeth Smart. The Cummings have completely focused on the "alive" angle and are promoting the Sheffield side as the culprits. I am not buying it. They need to look in misty and rc's relationship for the answers.

That's a whole different story. The tips that came about Haleigh were private citizens. I'm hoping for the best, as you can see.

What is the story with the various spokespeople for the PCSO? They give different stories about the crime. Is this done on purpose? I did not know Merchant was still in charge....yikes! He was the only one rc would talk to after he placed the rat in the mailbox. rc was conveniently out of town till he could reach Merchant. LE wanted to question rc and went to Welatka and granny told LE he was in St. Augustine (most likely talking to his BFF, his attorneys) and couldn't be reached.

He also says Neves was at the MH, not Sykes. Do these guy just wing it. If he were wrong I would expect a correction to be made....WTH?

and that 2:13 ties in with "she was last seen an hour and a half ago" and "there was a female talking loudly at 202 Green on the phone around 2:30am. 2:13 and 2:30 both have "3" in it....lol

Especially because I'm one that doesn't believe that it had anything to do with Misty's age and the fear of arrest because of it. I don't really believe that LE cared too much about that to be honest.. . jmho........

THAT'S what I am so curious about! Was it a mis-statement? He clarified who he was talking about to the reporter a couple of times. To make matters worse, I never was real suspect (as some were) that the visit didn't happen and NOW I am! :waitasec:....On that note of confusion, I'm going to bed...Have a good night all.
