I think it is very likely Misty called her family crying and screaming, and that is why they showed up after 10pm at night. It's also possible, if Ron still works the night shift, they adjust for that and visiting at 10pm is not as unusual as it would be for 8 to 5 people.
Regardless, we do have the statements that were made.
If Misty and Ron were telling the truth, what we have is Hank Sr. and Hank Jr. coming over for a visit, being told not to come because it was too late, but showing up anyway, in a belligerent and hostile manner. I don't know if Mama Croslin was on the warpath or not. That just does not make any sense to me at all. If that were all that was going on, there would be no big deal about waiting to visit at another time.
If Hank Jr. and Mama are telling the truth, then it is Misty calling crying and screaming, telling her family she doesn't want to live there anymore and to come get her. The family then hops into the van to go fetch the little darling. That would explain the attitude, even if they don't have a clue what is going on. It also explains Ron's attitude, up to a point, where having unwanted visitors show up for a simple visit really doesn't, IMO. We also have agreeing statements about them trying to get Misty to go with them. That jibes with her calling them to come get her, not so much with them insisting on a late night social call.
Something else bothering me, did none of the Croslins have a cell phone? It says they called from a gas station, which seems to imply they had to go there to use a payphone.
Anyway, regardless of which story, if either, is true, IMO, Ron way overreacted. This seems to back up theories he has a bad temper and doesn't have a problem getting physical. This makes it very difficult for me to believe he thinks Misty is involved in what happened to Haleigh, because it seems like it would be out of reach for him to be not beating the truth out of her. It also makes it difficult for me to believe Misty is somehow blackmailing him over Haleigh, because he doesn't seem the type to see the long term consequences of getting rid of her. I just don't get what he knows that we don't that makes him think Misty had no involvement.
