Heck they could be parents again before they get out, look at Susan Smith! :maddening: She had a baby after she was imprisoned, fathered by a guard (reportedly). I think Ron will be out way before the 15 years are over.

I am interested to see what the future holds. If Ron is still in prison in 5 years I'll be very surprised.

Well, if he is indeed granted the miracle he is hoping for, and thats early release, I have no doubts he will be back in on numerous violations of his parole. No way can he live without his guns, and he can never have them again, then we have to factor in hes a convicted druggie.... he will never ever be a freebird for long.

Short of a pardon or a sweeping change in FL drug trafficking sentencing laws, all the players will have to serve at least 85% of their sentence. And time off is based on good behavior; one demerit could mean they lose some or all of their good time earned. And it's never going to add up to 10 days off per month. At some point all inmates stop earning time off even if they act like little angels.

I am not sure the laws won't change and that those changes will not affect our players but as of now they are all in for at least 85% of their sentence.

I have to disagree. But I guess we'll see. I have no doubt many posters including me will follow the "players" for many years.

Scheduled release date 11.28.2024

That would likely be before any good time is credited.
I think it may be up to 10 days a month. which would make it in 2020 if I'm not doing 'Misty math'

What would happen if the state decided, due to economic factors, to release prisoners who are considered non-violent? As we have been a witness to, Florida has more than average drug arrests and I'm sure that the prisons are totally overflowing with drug dealers. I'm sure that they are probably running out of room for all these prisoners and some will be let loose earlier than their sentences dictate. Although I think that Ron, Misty, Tommy and Hope could very well be suspects in Haleigh's demise, I think that once again strings will be pulled and Ron could walk free..........don't know why I feel this way but I do.

It could happen, lone...but let's not dredge up unpleasantries until we have to. If anything like that happened I think there are others in line ahead of our crew. Many without mandatory sentences, and some with mandatories who have served more of their time already. JMO

Economic factors do not factor in. The law would have to change. Could the law change? Yes, it could, but the crime would not be pardoned, he would be on probation for a very long time, and there is no way on this earth, that he would not violate. Its just not possible.

You know for awhile I thought that Ron would crack and tell the truth. This is when he was in isolation in jail right after the arrests. He was going absolutely stir crazy. He just could not stand being alone. All he could talk about was his dang dirty underwear. He appeared to me to be a bit hysterical at the time. I was hopeful for a few days that maybe the isolation was getting to him and that he would confess to something just to change his status.....................then, :maddening: he was put into general population and my hopes were dashed. He was happy again and felt like part of a "family" with all his new friends and all. I think that Ron has adapted very well in his new home and will never talk. Now, if Teresa was arrested and jailed for Haleigh's death I believe that Ron would throw himself on a sword to protect her.............

There is a way to get ron to talk and LE missed their chance. RC cannot EVER be completely alone. He is incapable of it and would go crazy. All they had to do was deivse a way to have kept him totally locked down...not like Casey A. He must be kept in solitutude where he can't watch or talk to annyone. I guarantee you he would tell what he knows about Haliegh if that was the carrot offered.

On the other note...I doubt rc would protect his mother...er.that is unless he thought she would talk about him.

LOL, I just can't help thinking about Ron's guardian angel.

and I would say the vast majority of the others aren't withholding information on missing children. That's going to be a huge factor in this bunch not getting early releases. MOO.

Not understanding why you think justice would be served if Ron got out early. He said he was ready to go to prison and he felt justice was served by taking the 15 yr term. So why deny him the justice he sought and got?

LOL, I just can't help thinking about Ron's guardian angel.

And I can't help but think of the angel Nancy Grace would battle to prove Ron is innocent of his daughter's disappearance.

Lone, you've got to get a hold of yourself and stop all that nonsense. LOL

A bunch of laws would have to change, including the 85% rule. As it is no one can get out of a FL prison prior to serving at least 85% of their sentence. The trafficking laws could change but would FL really want to eliminate their 85% rule; doing that would likely release some violent convicts as well, those with a history of violence who just happen to be serving a sentence for something non-violent.

Even if all the appropriate laws were changed they would not just open all prison doors and allow a mass exodus of prisoners. Release would likely be a "first in time, first in line" situation. We'll just have to hope that charges for Haleigh happen before anyone is released.

Oh heck no.
I've seen states release killers, rapists and child molesters quicker than they release those serving drug sentences.
