Roseline Aka Pawai was a woman who was last seen on the evening of March 4, 1999 at her residence on Wainaku Street in Hilo, Hawaii. Although police received several unconfirmed sightings of her elsewhere in Hilo the week following her disappearance, her wallet and pager found on the Wainaku Bridge indicated to police she may have committed suicide. A three-day search near the bridge turned up no signs of Pawai.

Her case is under investigation by the Hawai'i Police Department. Few details are available in her case.

The locator tells us she could have jumped from the bridge... but where she might have been, there was no trace of her... so what? If she's on an island, she didn't get in a truck or car and leave the island... she didn't escape on a boat... so what's the possibility?

Additional info on events occurring prior to her disappearance (including a lawsuit filed on her behalf against a local LE officer) and the Fire & Rescue Search Dept policy (at least at the time) halting search operations after 3 days if no clues are found.
