Rosie will not return to "The View"

I saw the "cooking" segment and thought Rosie seemed very sedated (as in medically). The guest host (from Top Chef, I believe) seemed very flirty with Rosie. At the very end it even looked like the camera pulled away from a RO shot during EH's turn to make a drink. RO did not look very happy at that moment.

I agree, she looked kind of out of it - even when she announced in the beginning that it was May 25 - her son's birthday. They must have taped this show on Wednesday after the blowup.

I know! No more "fat, dumpy, lesbian Rosie" as she called herself yesterday. I really like her, find her refreshing and real and DEFINITELY not a coward. For those of you (like Mr. Richman) who form your opinions against her because of selected soundbites taken (sometimes) out of context might have a different opinion if you had watched an entire episode of the View, in my opinion.

I thought she just went by Rosie these days? Oh well, she can call herself whatever she likes. I'm just glad I don't have to hear her opinins anymore.

Were on the cruise that was made into the movie? I saw it at Sundance and then on HBO. I thought it was fantastic.

I can't for the life of me find out what the "firey exchange" was all about. Does anyone have a transcript please?

I saw that documentary that they made of the cruise! I don't remember laughing and crying at the same time in a while. I thought it was well done, in good taste and a damn good idea. I hope they do it every year!!! Rosie seems to be happy when she's around her family, so maybe that's where she should spend her days and years.

I too have also met Rosie. She has much goodness in her heart. She is a very cool person. So what if her and Elisabeth are fighting over a political cause. If it was men it would not even make the news. Everyone has a right to their opinions. I hate when it gets mean spirited. Elisabeth is the one I can't stand. Barf. Her football analogy ewww. She needs to get off her Bush wagon and see it for what it is. CRAP! I love Rosie. Remember she is probably going thru menopause and she has severe clinical ;) depression. Not an excuse for bad behavior, but another point to be considered.

There are plenty of us who don't like Rosie's constant trashing of the United States and calling our soldiers terrorists. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with whether we support Bush or not.

With regards to Rosie being off the show, it doesn't matter to me at all. I differ with her on way too many subjects to bother to listen to her. The older I get the less I'm going to waste my time listening to it.

I watched the view one time for my daughter because the wiggles were on there. To me its a show were four women just cut each other off and go louder over each other to block out other opinions. I cant stand to listen to it when nobody gets to say what they want to say without being cut off. But I dont watch any shows like that since my tolerance isnt the best and I dont want my 3 year old watching a bunch of grown women arguing over something trivial. Regis and kelly for me are the same way, you couldn't pay me to watch them, she constantly cuts off regis. If its irritating for me I cant imagine how irritating it must be to him.

Regarding the current issue though I say good riddance. Cut down the government all you want, I do it on a regular basis but do NOT cut down soldiers who put their life on the line every day to protect you. It's their job so they may not agree to it and they are missing their families. My dad had to listen to that crap when he came back from vietnam. He was drafted, he didnt choose it but he didnt run away from it like so many cowards did.

Also I do not feel menopause is an excuse for anything, Rosie has one problem that I see. Diarrhea of the mouth.

I wouldn't have liked it if Rosie constantly trashed the United States and called our soldiers terrorists. But, the fact is, she doesn't trash the United States nor did she ever call our soldiers terrorists.

I only started watching The View after Rosie came on. I'll probably stop watching now, especiallly if they keep EH on. IMO, she is the dumbest, most clueless person on TV.

Well, gosh, I wonder who she was suggesting murdered 650,000 Iraqi civilians.
And her talk about the U.S. government masterminding 9/11 sounds like an insane blogger we both know.

This is what Rosie said: “Who are the terrorists?” “I’m saying if you were in Iraq, and the other country, the United States, the richest in the world, invaded your country and killed 655,000 of your citizens, what would you call us?” In both rhetorical questions, she never once called the troops terrorists.
She was referring to the policy of the current administration.

I know what she said. I heard her. And what you've said is only YOUR interpretation. The meaning could be taken more than one way.

Why should Elisabeth (or you) need to explain Rosie's words? Let her speak for herself and quit calling Elisabeth a coward for not defending her. She's a loud mouth bully and I say GOOD RIDDANCE.

I can't stand the View, just because they always come across as self-important and pompous.

Rosie seems to be settling into that middle-age danger zone of Angry Woman. Happens to a lot of us. Takes effort to remain gracious even when life does not always seem fair and injustice seems rampant, for whatever reasons.

Rosie was angry that Elizabeth did not "stick up for her" with the press, in defending Rosie's comments.

Buh bye, Rosie.

I really do think Rosie has a lot of baggage about her childhood, and as she gets older and her children get older, she has to deal with it, and she is a big ol' anger stew right now.

My interpretation is based on the fact that Rosie has stated over and over that she supports the troops. She reiterated that on Monday's show when she was complaining about the conservative critics who twisted her words by saying that she called the troops "terrorists".

I think I'm just glad she's gone because I'm SICK of hearing about her comments and who they happen to tick off on what day. She's more than entitled to have her opinion, and of course she was getting paid to spout off at the drop of a hat, but that doesn't mean that we need to have it on EVERY news show and EVERY cable news network for 15 days straight! She's quit, she's gonna whine some more about everyone is being unfair to her and her opinions, and then she'll find something else to do.

In all honesty, I really wish they'd just take the entire show off the air. It's really become much ado about nothing, and apparently people there are feeling less comfortable saying what they want to say without fear of losing their contracts too... Perhaps once ratings drop off even further they'll find something useful (or at least entertaining) to put on in its spot.

I have felt for a long time Rosie's demeaner has deteriated. What really really got me and cut me to my bone was a couple of years back when she and her lover kelly showed up in the state that was allowing same union civil unions and as she and kelly descended down the court house steps I was sickened by the way she grabbed kelly and pecked her on the cheek with a self serving suppose to be kiss.

I have never forgotten that gesture. It was totally un-caring and as I watched it played over the news for that infamous week I watched it closely to ensure I wasn't reading more into it or being unfair in my thoughts and to analyze if I was truly being fair in my own mind about what I had seen.

My conclusion, Rosie's gesture was nothing more than a "I did it cause I can in your face public, etc....". I truly felt so sorry for Kelly. If I'm not mistaken, and I could be, it's been a while ago, and I certainly never heard any coverage affirming my own feelings on the matter, Kellly and her was reported to have some kind of tiff immediately within the next couple of days of this union, but I don't know what the tiff was about. Not claiming that it was what I read into the footage. But if I was Kelly, I would have told her off in private.

It reminded me of a bully husband who grabs his wife and treats her like property.

I hope Rosie gets it together and has a happy life, but she needs to release some of this anger that is so appearantly there inside of her. I also saw the view a couple of weeks ago when kelly's mom was in the audience and i felt a slight tinge of bully narcissim going on. I don't see kelly and rosie together much longer.

True. I still like her as a comic and person. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I don't believe she meant our soliders were terrorists. Sweeps week too. So who knows what they are trying to accomplish. Look how much attention it has brought.:waitasec:

I think Rosie has become a very bitter and angry woman. I bet she would be a barrell of fun to live with. I used to find her to be very funny. If I were to analyze it I would say that Rosie masks her inner pain and struggles with sarcasim and jokes. As far as her relationship with Elizabeth I think Rosie resents her because she is everything that Rosie is not- cute, attractive and feminine. I know it sounds shallow but I believe it.

I really loved her on the Rosie show. Perhaps she is not meant for a cast with other women. Best of luck to them all.

I may not agree with a couple of Rosie's views, but I really respect the work she does on a social level... she puts a lot of her money and time into trying to make a difference in the world.

I have no choice I have to defend Rosie. I have actually met her in person and opened a show with her in 2006. She was delightful, witty, and has a very dry sense of humor in perso. Her stand up is different then per real personality. I spent 3 weeks on a cruise ship with her Kelly and her children along with mine and she was great. She is a woman who does not back down no matter what and after watching the whole tape I think that Elizabeth H was actually the one who jumped the gun and decided this was her moment to make a statement. As for Rosie imo her attitude is such that if you don't like I don't have to stay soo see ya... Just my opinion from a personal standpoint on Rosie and btw she is anything but insane.

how cool that you've met her!....i think you hit the nail on the head too with
"if you don't like it, see ya!"....she has a mind of her own; not sitting there on The View dribbling sappy crap out of her mouth all the time.....The View's ratings will drop, you watch......about the only good thing left now is Joy, imo......

ETA.....great pics, crash....thanks for sharing!
gotta get my butt movin & get to work......:)
