I can and do blame Zelensky. Zelensky insisted on a White House visit. Trump didn't want it. The president of France called and ask Trump to host him. The day it was announced I said on the thread Zelensky what's going to put on a show.

Zelensky was warned by Secretary of the department of State, VP Vance , congressional representatives, Trump and I'm bet if the truth is known the PM UK and President France.

He's a showman, hard headed. He played his cards in the Oval office and he lost, just like all those that listed above told him. As we all know, there are consequences to actions. He put he Ukrainian people in grave danger.

If he didn't want to sign the deal, he should have not come to the US. You shouldn't have got on X and the media and announce he was coming to the US and signing the deal. He went head to head with Trump. We all know and have seen how that works out.

This is an unwinnable war for Ukraine.

Moo
"I can and do blame Zelensky"

For defending his country and people against an aggressor and seeking help?!

"Zelensky insisted on a White House visit. Trump didn't want it."

Can you verify this please, or is it just propaganda?

"He's a showman, hard headed. He played his cards in the Oval office"

Deflection - that was Trump. No one was playing cards. Trump said "you don't have the cards" (ie you have no power). Zelensky said "I am not here to play cards". (ie This is a serious matter).

Zelensky is a President, not a showman.

Yeah, per the link you shared Russia has 536 more nuclear weapons than the US. Russia has 5580 and the US has 5044.
How many times do you need to nuke the world? Really would like to know.

Not only does the current administration plan to save SSI, but is advocating for removing taxes on SSI, which will be an incredible help to our senior citizens and others dependent on SSI. The President has been very clear that any cuts or changes to SSI will not happen under his administration. And yet the false narratives on U.S. msm continue to state this, I guess trying to scare the American people.

How about SSDI? Oh, I should expect disabled and handicapped people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps? How about Medicaid? Poor people don’t count, right? I don’t even read MSM so that’s a meaningless comment. You know what I did read? Project 2025. Remember that document that your President said he never heard of? The one whose authors are now in high ranking cabinet positions?

It doesn't matter.

It does not take near that amount.

Nukes do not equal = he with the most toys wins.

As well, little Ukraine has clearly demonstrated the "he with the biggest army and most kit" doesn't always win either. They have held off the Red Bear for years! Truely a David v. Goliath situation - and history will show and remember that.

Plenty of examples out there: Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq ... etc etc. Lest we forget.

I wondered that too! Surely it only takes one nuke!

If Trump was really seeking a lasting peace, why didn't he sanction both Ukraine and Russia?
<rsbm>

So ... WHY is Russia so infuriated after the non-existent "peace talk" resulted in no deal for the US on the mineral rights? Did Russia have some vested interested in that deal?

I believe any new "sanctions" threat against Russia is optics in some misguided attempt to restore a badly damaged public image throughout the world, OR it's collusion with a view to Russia and the US coming out on top at Ukraine's expense.

Glad you added that acknowledgement.

The President's speech before the joint session of Congress was amazing, especially after a mere 6 weeks in office. His update on the work of the new admnistration was consistent with the mandate he received from the American people in the November 2024 election.

It's understandable that people who didn't vote for the current incumbent in any administration will be unhappy. Many of us were in that situation when we had to suffer through the humiliation and diaster of the 46th administration.

AJMO
Once again I will state (and this is not my opinion, this is a fact) that Trump DOES NOT have a mandate. Yes, he won the popular vote, but that is NOT a mandate. He beat Kamala Harris by 1.5 points but he didn't even receive a full 50% of the vote (he got 49.8% of the vote). More people did not vote than actually cast a vote for him. If we break it down into a percentage of people in the US eligible to vote (which is 245 million people), 90 million of them did not vote at all. Trump got 77 million votes, Kamala got 75 million. If we take Trumps 77 million votes from the 245 million eligible voters, that is 31% of Americans. 31% is NOT A MANDATE. 49.8% is NOT A MANDATE.

And since you found his speech to Congress to be so "amazing", here is the AP's breakdown of the lies that he told during the speech. FACT FOCUS: A look at false and misleading claims made by Trump during his address to Congress

Several of the lies he told were about Ukraine and the war. My personal favorite was his claim that we spent $8M on turning mice transgender. It was especially jarring to hear actual cheers and applause from Republicans after that insanity. The truth is we spent money on transgenic research in mice, which helps HIV and asthma research.

more fake news

What makes it fake news? What baramets is that based on? The main author literally runs OPM. People are welcome to support a racist felon rapist if they want. Yall love freedom of speech unless it's people protesting on college campuses or any media outlet writing something other than what you think is the truth.

And what is ,"weak" and "unstable" about having the capability to feel sorrow and other emotions and express them appropriately anyway? Trudeau is a far more effective leader than Trump will ever be imo. One of the reasons for that is that he is a more well rounded and stable individual, able to express his emotions appropriately and maturely. jmo.
Sane. Intelligent. Aware of, well everything that matters. Not a felon with that long list of felonies. Not a rapist and brags /denies depending on who's asking. Things like that.

Z messed up in Washington. War is he ll. No change until someone gets Putin to the table. Warmongers getting what they want.....war. Truly sad. Continued blaming of Trump is missing the entire point. My opinion.

I think only those that support him think that. Most of us around the world are disgusted at Trumps actions the last week.

Not true tbh. In fact theres a lot of assuming. Incidentally his Parliament is still supporting him. He would likely win another election

Well, the deal could be signed without Z or T.
Zelenskyy wanted to use the Oval Office as a podium to address the US public, I understand.

This is where good intelligence is important. Question, was it a good idea to try to reach US public this way? US is not Europe, far from war events, concerned with own quality of life and tax problems. I wonder if the majority even watched it tbh. (Don't know.)

In fact, instead, DT got the opportunity to reach own people and remind that things were better under his watch than under Biden’s one (not my statement, just what he said).

So all the podium went to DT. From this standpoint, it was a diplomatic mistake for Z, but Zelenskyy was probably desperate.

Clearly Putin wants peace. A surefire sign that a country is pursuing a peaceful resolution is when that country launches missiles at another. JMO
Clearly😏

It is Russia that must be forced to peace, Zelensky says

In his evening address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that "Ukraine is ready for peace as soon as possible: we have proposed concrete steps."

He adds that "every day, new Russian strikes and reality itself prove that it is Russia that must be forced to peace – to stop the war, to real diplomacy, to guarantee security and to a reliable, lasting peace".

His comments came as US President Donald Trump was making his own remarks from the Oval Office. As a reminder, Trump said that Russia was "easier to deal with" in terms of reaching a peace deal.

Aggression...NO. I'm very happy European countries for stepping up to help him. I'm very happy European countries recognize they must build greater defenses. I'm happy they've opened their coffers to BILLIONS of dollars, providing military aircraft, weaponry and humanitarian aid. All of these actions will make much safer and secure for all the citizens.
Moo...
Again...we always did help them. We always DID provide weaponry and humanitarian aid. Unlike others we have never threatened to stop this or demanded thank you's on live broadcasts. We also provided thousands of homes for Ukraine women and children at great expense to us. Again we will not be kicking these out unlike others. Seriously there are a lot of digs on here that we are just stepping up to help when we always DID help them!!

<snipped for focus>

That was my personal favorite, too, and loved the response from our representatives from the House and Senate. It was a great speech overall.

I also particularly liked the breakdown of the 100, 150, 200, and even 300 year olds who are still the recipients of social security benefits, and when the President looked over at the Secretary for Health and Human Services and said jokingly "maybe Americans are more healthy than we thought!"

Of course there were also the tragic and sad experiences of the special guests that night, and it was made even more tragic and sad when the Democrats refused to stand and applaud for the victims of crime who had lost loved ones to illegal immigrants and also to a young boy who has battled cancer and was honored by the new administration. Talk about insanity.

US suspends Ukraine’s access to satellite images

By Jake Horton

The US has temporarily suspended Ukraine’s access to some satellite imagery, space technology company Maxar tells BBC Verify.

This comes after the US decided to pause intelligence sharing with Ukraine following a breakdownin relations after the Oval Office clash last week.

Maxar, a US-based company, has contracts to provide satellite imagery to various governments and companies.

One of those is the Global Enhanced GEOINT Deliver (GEGD) programme, which gives users access to high quality imagery collected by the US government.

"The US government has decided to temporarily suspend Ukrainian accounts in GEGD," Maxar said. "Each customer makes their own decisions on how they use and share that data."

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, part of US Department of Defense - confirmed the suspension was "in accordance with the administration’s directive on support to Ukraine".

Satellite imagery is an important tool during a war as it allows armies gather intelligence on their rivals.

I'm sorry, you are correct. Apologies. I saw US at the top of the list and missed as I was reading. I know where assuming gets me. (As I wipe the egg off my face)

Thanks for the correction. I appreciate your eagle eye and attention to detail.
