He has advisors. The parliament is fully operational. From his Twitter account he's had worldwide "constructive conversations" for days.

What he has failed to do is apologize? He has failed to thank the American taxpayers. I don't trust him, I don't think he will last much longer. He's too needy, an egotistical.

I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people. I do hope that the US will hold 8:00 until he makes a full public apology. If you look at the comments on his Twitter page, many Americans have expressed his disregard I failure to recognize how much the United States is done for him. Many are saying don't give him another dime.
Moo
For what, exactly?

This question keeps getting asked and ignored. I have asked you previously without reply.

Moo...the finances and support of USA have been stopped. That is economic blackmail....moo
U.S. taxpayer dollars are owed no nation.

Elon Musk is allowed to roam the WH in a T-Shirt and baseball cap. How is that not disrespectful too?

I wish someone would actually answer this. People keep bringing up proper White House attire to bully Zelenskyy, but when Elon showed up in the Oval Office without a suit, it was shrugged off. The double standard is obvious, and the fact that people are intentionally ignoring the question says everything.

IMO

He is the de facto vice president of the USA, he is not asking for money, Zelensky is asking for billions, he has less excuse to dress inappropriately than the effective VP in all but name

I'm really disappointed that this forum is starting to look and feel like the Oval Office fiasco. I thought we were better than that.

IMO

I came here to learn what was actually happening and learn from those knowledgeable about things I am not.

Good manners and respect are important.

Just my opinion on this topic.

I am fully supportive of Ukraine, I don’t think that they should surrender a single inch of Ukrainian soil in any deal, Russia need to give up every inch of territory they have stolen over the years, but Zelensky needs to step down and be replaced by another leader, he has reverted to his old comedian mode with his dress sense and other aspects of his behaviour he also has a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way. Needs to step aside

Also, if we are placing such an importance on decorum…

Donald Trump was 12 minutes late to tea with the Queen

Z received a heavy dose of reality in the past day or two. I still think he was set up by the leftists in the U.S., (at minimum was delusional in thinking he was still dealing with them) coached to do what he did, in an attempt to once again, defeat T. The democrat/leftists in the U.S. have no concern for human life when it comes to destroying T. They would be more than happy to trade a half million lives in war just to do so.

The economic ties that will come from the deal will be stronger for the defense, rebuilding, and growth of Ukraine than missiles, bullets, and bodies.
Well said!

We don’t know the circumstances, he could have been caught up in traffic or there was bad weather which meant the journey took longer. Without knowing the facts its hard to comment

Euro's may want to built their arsenal a wee bit more prior to wishing the U.S. depart from NATO. I'm thinking the current administration has looked at doing just that. I can only imagine the terror in London, talk about groveling....ouch.

A summary of today's developments

  • U.S. president Donald Trump’s administration and Ukraine plan to sign the much-debated minerals deal, people familiar with the situation told Reuters. Trump told his advisers he wants to announce the agreement in his address to Congress on Tuesday evening, three of the sources said, cautioning that the deal had yet to be signed and the situation could change.
  • After Germany’s conservatives and Social Democrats announced proposals on Tuesday to set up a 500 billion euro fund for infrastructure and overhaul borrowing rules in order to increase defence spending, leaders of both parties told reporters recent events in the U.S. put pressure on them to act. Germany’s Christian Democratic Union party leader FriedrichMerz said the economy must be brought back on a growth path with credit financed from the special fund, 100 billion of which will go to states.
  • Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he instructed his defence minister and other officials to secure precise information on military supplies after the U.S. announced it was pausing assistance. Earlier, Zelenskyy said he is ready to sign a minerals and security agreement with the United States and to work under president Donald Trump’s “strong leadership”. While admitting his meeting with president Donald Trump “did not go the way it was supposed to”, Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace and praised Trump for providing his military with Javelins.
  • Ukraine’s allies were not told in advance of Donald Trump’s decision to pause military aid, Poland’s foreign ministry said, as rattled European politicians reaffirmed their backing for Kyiv faced with dramatic further evidence of a US policy shift. The US president’s announcement “was made without any information or consultation, neither with Nato allies nor with the Ramstein group which is involved in supporting Ukraine,” the ministry spokesperson Paweł Wroński said on Tuesday.
  • At least three lawmakers were injured on Tuesday after chaos erupted in Serbia’s parliament, where smoke bombs and flares were thrown. Lawmakers were scheduled to vote on a law that would increase funding for university education, but opposition parties insisted the session was illegal and should first confirm the resignation of prime minister Miloš Vučević and his government.
  • A five-part plan to bolster Europe’s defence industry and increase its military capability could raise nearly €800bn and help provide urgent military support for Ukraine after the US suspended aid to Kyiv, the head of the European Commission said. Ursula von der Leyen said the 27-member bloc would propose giving member states more fiscal space for defence investments, as well as €150bn in loans for those investments, and would also aim to mobilise private capital.

Elon Musk is NOT the “De facto vice president” of the U.S. and he holds no elected or official government position. This is a fact.

Thanks for inadvertently backing up my point. IMO

@Sundog .... in the last thread you asked about the content of this Washington Post article.

(paraphrased)

Zelenskyy has proposed a new framework for an agreement.

Partial ceasefire
Kyiv willing to release prisoners and agree to a truce that would ban long-range attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure
Move quickly (very) through the next stages and work with the U.S. to agree a strong final deal
Re-iterated (again) appreciation for US support
Has asked his top officials to confirm with their contacts if US support has stopped - sounds aa though Zelenskyy had received no official notice - thinks he shouldn't have to guess about that
Only about half of the equipment that Biden's last funds purchased has been received by Ukraine

Goes on to speak of Europe rallying behind Ukraine, and how happy Russia is.

Zelenskyy Offers Partial Ceasefire with Russia to Restart Talks

Moo...being part of NATO, means protect Europe. I agree Europe does need to control their own interests. This is change in world order. USA wants to isolate, that is their choice. But countries with USA bases....and there is a lot of them. Many countries have choices to make...moo

Yes @LibraStarr …. absolutely agree….. sadly though, IMO it is almost as though those in elected office, the White House, and the administration are on the other hand allowing this unfettled access by this individual and the ability to …… well do exactly what is not clear. I best stop here and sit on my hands and finish this post. SMH. MOO

Moo...I really really do not want Ukraine to sign an agreement with USA. Europe get your act together, take control of this situation, please...moo
