On the contrary, the President is trying to end a war that has been going on for four years and he was elected by a mandate of the people to stop funding the war between Ukraine and Russia. He is also not "threatening" Canada, Mexico and China, he is imposing tariffs on these trade partners that will level the playing field and address their part in the influx of deadly drugs that are killing Americans at high numbers. The American people voted for a President and administration that would prevent WWIII and that's exactly what they are doing by trying to negotiate an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia. I don't think anyone here feels the need to defend him, he is merely carrying out the mandate he was given by the electorate. With regard to your accusations of corruption in the current administration, I have no idea what you are talking about. The only corruption I see is the past administration where Biden had to pardon his whole family pretty much for the corruption that has been going on for years going back to when he was a senator in the U.S. Congress.

Leftists and democrats are not the same thing, i suggest doing some research on this. There is a fundamental difference between liberals and leftists.

Putin is the cause of most of this, Ukraine is a sovereign country and can decide whether or not they wish to join NATO. They shouldn’t have to be put through war because Putin and Russia are bullies

Poland to train all adult men for warfare - PM​

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said work is under way to make all adult men in the country undergo military training.

“We will try to have a model ready by the end of this year so that every adult male in Poland is trained in the event of war, so that this reserve is comparable and adequate to the potential threats,” Tusk says in a speech to the lower house of the Polish parliament.

He also says he supports Poland withdrawing from the Ottawa Convention that bans the use of anti-personnel landmines, and also possibly from the Dublin Convention that bans the use of cluster munitions. He says he will ask the defence minister for his opinion on the matters.

Tusk adds that he thinks Poland should spend 5% of its GDP on defence. This year, the government plans to spend 4.7% of GDP on defence - the highest in Nato.

Earlier, President Duda proposed amending the constitution to make defence spending at a level of 4% of GDP compulsory.

Duda said he had submitted a draft amendment to the constitution to the parliamentary speaker to enforce the change.

Following Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine, Poland already spends more than 4% of its GDP on defence.

Last year, it spent the equivalent of 4.1% of its GDP on defence and plans to raise that to 4.7% this year.

Also, it’s not about “hating Trump” it’s about caring for other people beyond just ourselves. The people of Ukraine did not ask for any of this, the women and children murdered by Russian forces did not ask for any of this, the Ukrainians who have been displaced and won’t be able to return to their homes did not ask for any of this.

Poland needs to have an army of half a million, Tusk says​

We can now bring you some more comments from Donald Tusk, who has just been addressing the lower house of the Polish parliament.

The prime minister says the Ukrainian army has 800,000 soldiers, whilst Russia has around 1.3 million and he wants to increase the size of the Polish army, including reservists, to 500,000 - that's up from around 200,000 now.

“It seems if we organise things wisely, and I’m talking constantly with the minister of defence, we will have to use several courses of action. That means the reservists, but also intensive training to make those who do not go into the army fully-fledged and competent soldiers during a conflict,” he adds.

Tusk does not rule out women undergoing mandatory military training, but says “war, is still to a greater extent the domain of men”.

Having an emotional unstable leader puts any country at risk.

Funny how projection works in situations like this. Criticizing the emotional stability of a leader while overlooking similar concerns about one's own side is a classic move. What did Russia do when ceasefires were negotiated in the past? They bombed, they broke the agreements. Kind of hard to broker a deal when one side never keeps their word.

Trump calling Zelensky a dictator and the war was his fault was many steps too far. The real life, every day attacks on Ukraine's cities, targeting daycares, schools, churches and even a nuclear plant, all resulting in lives lost and then the abduction of thousands of children. These are not a part of the "business" world skill set. Those are war crimes. To try and approach lasting peace as a business deal is just folly, IMO.

Resolutions are important as is knowing the mindset of people who object to them. All words have meaning, they carry weight because they identify a speaker's heart and mind on many things. A person needs to be careful what they say, for it can define them forever. Senators can and should be held accountable not just for their votes but for their objections to voting.

Contrary to Trumps statements, Ukraine was not the aggressor, it was their land that was invaded, savaged and stolen. Trump thinks the "art of the deal" is going to fix things overnight, lickety-split? That's very unrealistic, especially considering that Putin is a very corrupt individual and can never be trusted. Trump has proven there's no being cordial in his administration. Seems to me it all went south when the US and Russia held talks in Saudi Arabia without Ukraine being part of the process. Must not have gotten the memo.

We're poles apart on how to go about establishing a lasting peace in Ukraine...especially when dealing with the war criminal and murdering dictator, Putin. AJMO

Last night, the Russian army carried out another massive attack on our energy infrastructure. Various facilities were targeted in several regions – Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Ternopil. In total, the Russians used nearly 70 missiles, both cruise and ballistic, as well as almost 200 attack drones. All of this was directed against infrastructure that ensures normal life. Currently, repair and restoration work is ongoing wherever needed. Unfortunately, ordinary residential buildings have also been damaged. In Kharkiv, a Russian missile hit close to an apartment building. People were injured. They are receiving the necessary assistance.

Today, F-16 fighter jets and Mirage aircraft provided by France were used to protect Ukrainian skies. In particular, the Mirages successfully intercepted Russian cruise missiles. Thank you! I also want to recognize the performance of our anti-aircraft missile forces, army aviation, all our electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.

The first steps toward real peace must include forcing the sole source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks against life. And this is something that can be effectively monitored. Silence in the skies – banning the use of missiles, long-range drones, and aerial bombs. And silence at sea – a real guarantee of normal navigation. Ukraine is ready to pursue the path to peace, and it is Ukraine that strives for peace from the very first second of this war. The task is to force Russia to stop the war.
