President Trump is the reason why we are becoming a great nation again. He's only been in office for about six weeks. We, the people, are looking forward to all the things he will accomplish over the next four years.

So many wanting to take credit for Trump's decision. American know Trump, they know nobody tells Trump what to do. Trump is his own man, makes his own decisions, smart enough to seek council from wise Americans. He's a successful, wealthy businessman, he's established World ride relationships through business ventures. He surrounds himself with successful, intelligent people. He brings much strength to the table. Yes he's a convicted felon. And we still elected him as president. CBS poll showed 79% approval rating after his speech to Congress, and we all know CBS has not been kind to Trump. I was gobsmacked when I saw they released the results. I thought they would have buried this in a deep, deep hole somewhere.

Nope, no one influenced Trump.
Moo...

Actually CBS has been plenty fine to Trump. He's the one who made a big deal out of a 60 minutes interview that was a big nothingburger. MSM spent the entire election cycle sanewashing DJT.

Did you know that alienating yourself from all your allies and starting a trade war with the nations closest to your border is making this a great country? Blaming fentanyl coming in on Canada even though a miniscule amount even comes through that way and the majority of it comes from China.

"Ukraine is partially blinded". "Attacks that Russia is waging every single night".

Awaiting unscheduled press conference. Can this be related to the Ukraine Russian war?

Mr Trump needs to accept some responsibility for this - civilians being "pounded" by Russian attacks". Instead he is just blaming the war. He has played right into Putin's hands. Perhaps he will now see that Zelensky was right and Putin can't be trusted.

Banking sanctions aren't going to stop Putin - he's on a roll and wants to win the war.

"Donald Trump says Russia is “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield, as he threatened new banking sanctions against Moscow in order to end the fighting.

In his most direct challenge to Russia since he became President for the second time, Mr Trump said: “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale banking sanctions, sanctions, and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and final settlement agreement on peace is reached.”

In a direct order to Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, he added: “To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!”

Earlier this week, Mr Trump suspended all military aid to Ukraine. He then went on to suspend the intelligence sharing channels between the US and Ukraine."

Another post I'll bookmark so we can compare in four years.
I think it is part of the multiple personalities disorders mentioned by branmuffin.

Hopefully Rubio's meeting with Zelensky in Saudi Arabia goes well and some progress can be made toward a new peace deal. Ukraine cannot win a war against Russia. Endless war or WWIII are not things I am interested in watching/living through. One listen through Dan Carlin's Blueprint for Armageddon is well worth investing time in.

You seem very anti Ukraine/zelensky which I find at odds with the vast majority of people around the world. Zelensky has every right to be a part of any peace negotiations for his country - to exclude him is beyond odd, it’s highly suspicious - who is hiding what and why…. Putin has already reneged on agreements, why does trump think he won’t if an agreement is made now?

What trump dislikes is that Zelensky has the strength to stand up to the bullying by Putin trump and Vance (tag team abusers, Gang stalking). Zelensky knows exactly who and what Putin, trump and Vance are and that’s why they try to belittle and bully him. They are lower than snakes bellies, they aren’t men of honour.
I am very anti-war. I know many who are maimed and gave their lives in war. I've prayed, cried for family and friends being held as POWs for years in Vietnam. We've buried from war since before we became a nation.

I've dropped to my knees and uncontrollably sobbed at the Vietnam Memorial in DC. I've visited Arlington National Cemetery, as far as you can see tombstones of loved ones. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. I've wept for their souls. These are human lives, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. I weep for their mothers, pain I hope I never have to experience.

No I don't want war. How can anyone want war?

Child among at least 10 injured in 'massive' Russian aerial attack overnight

More details are coming in now about a "massive" attack on Ukraine overnight (see also our 7.04 post).

At least 10 people, including a child, were injured in Russian missile and drone attacks, Ukraine's energy minister has said.

German Galushchenko said Moscow was trying to "hurt ordinary Ukrainians by striking energy and gas production facilities".

He said Vladimir Putin's regime has a goal of "leaving us without light and heat, and causing the greatest harm to ordinary citizens".

The largest privateenergy company in Ukraine, DTEK, said this morning it had halted gasproduction at its facilities in the central Poltava regionafter they suffered significant damage from the Russian attacks.

Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's power grid since it invaded its neighbour more than three years ago.

Electricity generation capacity has been depleted.

Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of "weaponising winter".

Russia's defence ministrysaid its forces carried out strikes with long-rangeair, sea and land-based precision weapons against what it calledgas and energy infrastructure. "

Ukraine has seenbigger attacks, sometimes involving more than 100 missiles launched in thecourse of one night.

This one involved 67, according to the Ukrainianair force. Notably, up to 20 of them were fired from Russian warships inthe Black Sea – the largest number this year, which is still smaller than incomparable attacks in 2024.

The damage causedby this latest attack is difficult to assess because it targeted Ukraine's gasextraction facilities – and Ukraine has a policy of not reporting details ofdamage to strategic infrastructure so as not to help Russian forces withpost-strike assessment.

It is a relief thatno fatalities were reportedly caused by the attack."

It's also personally nasty - not just civilians but an attack on Zelensky's home town, which killed four people. (In the BBC link).

In pictures: Firefighters tackle aftermath of strikes in Khark

As we've been reporting, Ukraine says Russia carried out a new wave of attacks overnight on several regions, including Odesa in the south and Kharkiv in the east

We're getting more images showing the scale of the destruction from overnight strikes in the southern port city of Odesa, as well as the eastern city of Pokrovsk - here's

I remember when Russia first attacked Ukraine and people were dying in the streets while they walked out of their town with a couple of kids and a dog in a pet carrier, dressed like any person in Canada, the UK and the US. I remember seeing a pregnant woman who was about to give birth who was injured (and ultimately died) from bomb fragments because Putin had targeted a hospital - not a military installation or a factory - a hospital. I remember seeing people standing in the streets of utter devastation hearing the cries of injured people buried under twisted metal and small fires. I remember seeing an old man lying dead beside his bike with a broken bag of potatoes he'd found just trying to feed his family. But what I remember most is when Donald Trump witnessed images of murdered people, destroyed buildings and churches the words out of his mouth were along the lines of "Look at all the real estate." That my friends, is how Donald Trump views this war. From a transactional point of view. It's isn't about "the precious Ukrainians" dying in the streets it's about land and property and how he can make money off the devastation. A man completely devoid of compassion and humanity.

Last night, the Russian army carried out another massive attack on our energy infrastructure. Various facilities were targeted in several regions – Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Ternopil. In total, the Russians used nearly 70 missiles, both cruise and ballistic, as well as almost 200 attack drones. All of this was directed against infrastructure that ensures normal life. Currently, repair and restoration work is ongoing wherever needed. Unfortunately, ordinary residential buildings have also been damaged. In Kharkiv, a Russian missile hit close to an apartment building. People were injured. They are receiving the necessary assistance.

Today, F-16 fighter jets and Mirage aircraft provided by France were used to protect Ukrainian skies. In particular, the Mirages successfully intercepted Russian cruise missiles. Thank you! I also want to recognize the performance of our anti-aircraft missile forces, army aviation, all our electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.

The first steps toward real peace must include forcing the sole source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks against life. And this is something that can be effectively monitored. Silence in the skies – banning the use of missiles, long-range drones, and aerial bombs. And silence at sea – a real guarantee of normal navigation. Ukraine is ready to pursue the path to peace, and it is Ukraine that strives for peace from the very first second of this war. The task is to force Russia to stop the war.

Ukraine lives, fights, and despite everything, continues to develop thanks to the strength and courage of our people, and the support of our partners. Thank you, Ukrainians, each and every one of you, for defending and preserving your country!
And this /\ Putin is the man Trump wants to embrace and advance. And this /\ Zelensky is the man Trump wants to ostracize and denigrate.

Trump's GOPs in Congress objected to calling Putin a murdering war criminal, on the record. But they stood by and said nothing when President Zelensky was treated like dirt in the Oval Office by Trump, Vance, some random social media guy, etc... They stood and cheered at the joint session Trump speech, to every condescending and false thing Trump bloviated about, just like a group of trained circus animals acting on cue. It was excruciating, for me, to watch.

It's beyond embarrassing and enraging. It's a bastardization of everything that America has stood for, fought for. The shame is ours to bear and ours to rectify. The current Congressional GOP leadership is sadly lacking in the courage to do so. It would just take 5 to get the Revival Train rolling. AJMO

I'm wondering if we can send anything to help - practically. It's winter and the Ukrainian gas facility has stopped working after being hit. Off to check out aid agencies to see if we can send something.

Trump and the US are on cordial terms with Putin. Ukraine is vulnerable because Zelensky refuses to work towards a peace agreement, for a war that's going nowhere. Does anybody really believe Ukraine can win against Russia?

I do believe, France it's walking a fine line. Is France willing the fire of a couple of nuclear weapons against Russia, to give Ukraine the advantage they so dearly need?

Keep pushing Putin and he will show force. Moo, that's what got Ukraine in the war they're in now. Zelensky trying to obtain NATO membership was clearly a threat to Russia. Zelensky wants NATO to put nuclear weapons in Ukraine to use against Russia. NATO has been saying no to his membership for years, he created this war to try to force NATO intervention and guarantee him a membership.

Moo
This statement is false.

Ukraine showed zero aggression or 'pushing' of Russia "to get themselves where they are now".

Ukraine, a soverign democratic nation, was invaded BY Russia, unprovoked, on 28 February 2025.

Here's one of Americas own official government sites dedicated to tracking the facts (and the dollars too!)

One can attempt to rename international waterways via EOs all they wish, but shouldn't be surprised when the rest of the world doesn't, and isn't doing same. But they cannot write their own revisionist history (they can if they are ... dictators ... temproarily) because the truth and facts will always out in the end.

Once the US stops providing financial support worldwide, removes foreign military bases, leaves Nato, stops feeding the hungry, ends support to developing nations, we lose our global leverage. Some of us want to continue doing those things because it's the right thing to do, but, bottom line is it gives us power and leverage. Without it, what makes US a world leader? Our nukes? Is that our new superpower? We get cooperation through threats of violence because we gave up our diplomatic leverage?

I think it's bad form to quote and reply to myself but it needs to be said that, IMO, this is precisely what Putin wants. A weakened and isolated US.

His coffers have been restored this week with BILLIONS given by European Nations.

He continues his overwhelming thanks to his European allies. Clearly he has shown that he does not need the financial support of the US government. We are insignificant.

I remember back in the 1950s thru 1980s many HS graduates immediately entered the military. It was a rite of passage in my family. It built character, strength, determination, discipline and a sense of self-worth. It helped build Future Leaders. It also provided a pathway for a 4-year college education and financial success.

I'm just in AWW of this leader. He is definitely developed a plan for success and future security for his country.

It would be interesting to know what your military family members think of all of this. Have you talked to them about your stance? 1950s through 1980s most should still be alive. I would be very interested in hearing how their ideology has changed from the Cold War era to now.
