Poland is prepared to resume the transport of American aid to Ukraine through its territory, according to Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of this development, adding that Trump could now test whether Russia’s previous declarations were genuine or merely an attempt to undermine Western unity and solidarity with Ukraine.

Vladimir Solvyov says ""No, there won’t be any ceasefire. Our idea of peace is everything happening as we see fit” And comments how JD Vance doesn't like Ukraine and Trump doesn't say anything bad about Russia, He is scathing at the idea of a ceasefire in the air suggesting Russia has more power and might in the air so why should they have a ceasefire? Russia says Moscow will make decisions about Ukraine, not the US

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that Moscow would make its own decisions about the conflict in Ukraineafter Kyiv said it was ready to support Washington’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, TASS reported.

“The shaping of the position of the Russian Federation does not take place abroad due to some agreements or efforts of some parties. The formation of the position of the Russian Federation takes place inside the Russian Federation,” she said.

How did Ukraine’s ‘unprecedented’ drone attack manage to break through Moscow’s defences?

"Ukraine used to be the main producer of rockets for the Soviet space programme. Its second city, Kharkiv, remains a world centre for rocket science, and its development of drone technology has been supercharged by arms investors from around the world keen to cash in on Ukraine’s unparalleled experience in this new kind of warfare.

The attacks on Moscow were intended to show Vladimir Putin that even with the vocal backing of the Trump administration, Ukraine is capable of hurting Russia."

The UK was "intimately involved" in helping Ukraine and the US reach an agreement over a proposed ceasefire deal with Russia, according to UK government sources.

The BBC has been told that over the past week there has been a concerted European effort, led by Sir Keir Starmer, to get the US and Ukraine back in good favour with one another.

...the prime minister's National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, worked with his US counterpart Mike Waltz, and German and French officials

Over the weekend Powell travelled to Kyiv to meet Zelensky and help draft a written proposal ...

A UK source said "the ball is firmly in the Russian court. Will they reciprocate and stop the fighting to allow serious negotiations on a lasting peace or will they continue to slaughter innocent civilians?".

" Three Cambridgeshire men have travelled 1,300 miles (2,092km) across Europe as part of a convoy to deliver medical aid to Ukraine.

Paul Earnshaw said the vehicle was dropped off as a donation alongside wheelchairs, crutches, clothing and generators.

"It was really emotional to hand the keys to the Ukrainian drivers when they drove off with our vehicles," Mr Earnshaw told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"There's little things that get to you, like the drivers were all female as most of the men are at the front fighting. It just makes it so real."

Mr Earnshaw added: "They are just so grateful to the British people, because we are showing sort of unflagging support of what they're doing and they just think that is marvellous. The psychological impact is almost as great as the aid itself." "

Russian lawmaker: Ceasefire deal will be on Moscow’s terms

An influential Russian lawmaker said on Wednesday that any ceasefire deal would be on Moscow’s terms, not Washington’s.

“Russia is advancing (in Ukraine), and therefore it will be different with Russia,” said Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia’s parliament, in a post on Telegram.

“Any agreements - with all the understanding of the need for compromise - on our terms, not on American. And this is not boasting, but understanding that real agreements are still being written there, at the front. Which they should understand in Washington, too.”

A ceasefire is a ceasefire isn't it? What's all that about terms? A one-sided ceasefire?!

'Difficult for Putin to agree to ceasefire in current form,' Russian sources say

I'm dying to hear the logical gymnastics that Trump supporters are going to engage in to justify how this isn't a failure but a victory for him! How Zelenskyy is still the bad guy even though he's agreed to literally everything he's been asked to agree to!

It was, of course, blindingly obvious to everyone else that this would be the case from the outset.

It will probably be something like a "ceasefire if Ukraine cedes the 4 territories invaded and occupied by Russia".

Then the US can say "c'mon Ukraine, you have to compromise".

In other words, surrender Ukraine's land.

Then Russia can settle itself in those 4 territories, and when it is comfortable, start invading Ukraine further and take more land.

imo

Report detailed how ceasefire might be enforced

Unlike the current negotiations, which have often played out in public, the group of security experts met behind closed doors and produced a detailed paper first shared last month at a meeting in Switzerland, attended by foreign policy experts from the U.S., Russia and Ukraine. It was subsequently published online and detailed possibilities for monitoring and enforcing a ceasefire.

This is the report .... it is a fairly concise summary ... it's not long and is worth a read. imo
The full ceasefire toolkit, which is linked within this link, is much longer.

If (big if) the ceasefire goes ahead, looking at the last bullet point there...

Use the ceasefire as a first step towards a broader package of agreements including a political settlement as well as arms control agreements and confidence- and security-building measures between NATO and Russia and strategic stability between the United States and Russia as well as discussions on the future of European security

... it's hard to imagine Putin engaging in good faith.

I just heard Keir Giles (author of Russia's War on Everybody: And What It Means for You and a Chatham House fellow) on the radio. He said:

The last thing Russia wants is a permanent solution that protects Ukraine.

Rubio says territorial concessions discussed with Ukraine

Speaking from Shannon Airport, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said conversations were held with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia regarding territorial concessions.

He said the bulk of the conversation surrounded what a negotiation process would look like.

Mr Rubio said he feels any ceasefire can be monitored.

"If Russia says no, it will tell us a lot," he added.

Rubio says Europeans will have to be involved in Ukraine ceasefire

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that European allies will need to be involved in any eventual deal on Ukraine, which backed a US proposal for a 30-day truce with Russia.

"I think that they have to be necessarily involved," Mr Rubio told reporters on a refuelling stop at Shannon Airport, noting that Russia would seek removal of European sanctions imposed on it since the start of the war.

'If Russia refuses, we should sanction the hell out of them' — Trump, Sen. Graham, hope Putin agrees to ceasefire.

Donald Trump confirmed that U.S. officials would meet with Russian representatives in the coming days to discuss the ceasefire.

Half of Ukrainians say territorial concessions, forfeiting NATO membership in exchange for ending war 'completely unacceptable.'

According to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the request of the Kyiv Independent, 47.1% of Ukrainians consider it "completely unacceptable" to agree to territorial concessions and give up on NATO membership as a prerequisite to ending the war.

Only 8.2% said they would "easily agree" to this scenario, while 38.1% of respondents called this option difficult but "generally acceptable."

Oil shipments via Druzhba pipeline halted due to Ukrainian drone attack.

Oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline from Russia to Hungary are halted due to a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.
The majority of Ukrainians do not find it completely unacceptable to give up territory and nato membership in exchange for ending the war? Isn't this democracy?
