Russia-Ukraine latest news: US condemns Putin’s nuclear deterrence order; EU to buy arms for Ukraine | World news | The Guardian

The mayor of Kyiv has said reports that the capital is surrounded by Russian forces are false.

“In the evening, Russian online publications spread information with reference to me that Kyiv was allegedly surrounded and evacuation of people was impossible,” Vitali Klitschko said in a statement. “And it is strange that Ukrainian telegram channels started to spread it… Do not believe lies! Trust information only from official sources. Together, we will stand together. Ukraine will win!”

A spokesperson for the mayor told the Kyiv Independent that Klitschko misspoke earlier Sunday, and that information about Russian troops encircling the city is “a lie and a manipulation”.

Satellite images on Sunday showed a 3.25-mile long deployment of Russian forces advancing toward Kyiv.

Mayor of southern Ukrainian town says Russians have taken control

From CNN's Tim Lister in Kyiv and Olya Voinovich

Oleksandr Svidlo, the acting mayor of the town of Berdyansk on Ukraine's southern coast, has said that Russian forces have entered and taken control of the town.

Berdyansk, which has a small naval base, has a population of about 100,000.

Svidlo posted a message to the town's residents on his Facebook page Sunday which said, "A few hours ago, you and I witnessed how heavy military equipment and armed soldiers entered the city and began advancing throughout our hometown. As soon as I learned about that, I tried to inform all the residents of the city so that you have the opportunity to hide in shelters."

Svidlo continued: "Some time ago, armed soldiers entered the executive committee building and introduced themselves as soldiers of the Russian army, they informed us that all administrative buildings were under their control and that they were taking control of the executive committee building."

We're not just supporting with words

They aren't nuclear bombs, so I don't think so.

It's worth noting that the US also has thermobaric bombs though.
MOO Having them and deploying are really different.

Great tool thanks!

I've just found a USAF plane flying through Southern Poland too and Spain AF, flying the same path by the looks of it.

Think they've landed at Rzeszow Jasionka Airport

RCH136 and
AME3102

Has that Spanish Air Force plane just done a u-turn? Strange.

Easy to lose yourself in FR24, sorry if I’ve just given anyone a new addiction!!

"A three-mile column of Russian troops and tanks have been seen "moving towards Kyiv" in satellite imagery taken on Sunday."

Russia-Ukraine latest: Three-mile column of Russian troops and tanks 'moving towards Kyiv'

I suspect they are trying to beat the weapons and supplies that are set to be provided to the Ukrainians. Has there been any reference to how long it takes to get said supplies in the hands of those in need? I just can’t imagine it being instantaneous or very quick going through fund release or sign off, supply chain, and delivery. I hope I am wrong.
