I can't listen to it - it's blocked.

The post shows "blocked" to me as well, but if you click on the "Watch on YouTube" link, it loads.

Loved that photo of Barcelona harbor taken January 14 of this year.

Makes me think UK- based Roman Abramovich is no where as "clean" as he would like us to think.

He still hangs out with the Bad and Ugly Team in his spare time.

Lets's wait and see how much $$$ he actually gives to Ukraine.

Tanker of Russian gas diverted after Kent dockers refuse to unload it

Dockers who vowed not to unload a tanker of Russian gas that was due to arrive at a Thames Estuary port in the early hours of Friday morning have scored a victory, after the ship was diverted, the Guardian understands.

The Boris Vilkitskiy was on its way to the Isle of Grain with a consignment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Centrica, the owner of British Gas, owing to an apparent loophole on Russian-associated ships imposed by the Department for Transport.

But after dockers represented by the trade union Unison warned they would rebel against any instruction to help bring the gas onshore, the ship will no longer dock at the Kent facility.

Kudos to the Unison crew in Kent! Represent!

Russian, Belarusian truckers speak of fears over Ukraine war: ‘It should be ended’

[...]

“It’s not good. It should be ended because people are dying and not only soldiers,” Bikov says. “We are all people, we all have two legs, two hands, one heart.”

[...]

“Here in this queue we’re of all different nationalities, and we’re all finding common ground and communicating in a normal manner,” he says. “It should be like that in the world.”

''Foreign fighters have heeded President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's calls - and they're coming in from all over the world to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia. In Thailand, a group of young men is preparing for a journey west to fight against a global superpower. ''

Ah, the Luftansa flight from Frankfurt to Tokyo has changed course and is now heading to Mongolia, avoiding Russian airspace.

Russian protestors struggle to understand Ukraine war: 'We didn't choose this' - CNN

(...)

But many Russians, in fact, do not fully know what is happening in Ukraine. State-controlled television shows almost no reports of Russian bombing and shelling in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, instead it focuses on so-called Ukrainian "nationalists" and "neo-fascists."

(...)

But Russian young people like 25-year-old Arina, who lives in Moscow, is not watching TV -- she says she hasn't watched it in seven years. She's on the internet, reading blogs and listening to vloggers. She hasn't taken part in protests yet, but she has seen young people on the street taking part in "silent protests," sticking "No to War" signs on their backpacks or bags.

She, too, is having difficulty comprehending why this war in Ukraine is happening and what it will mean for her own life as a young Russian.

"It is very difficult to predict anything, of course, the situation is horrible," Arina, who asked CNN to only use her first name for her safety said. "Among some of my friends, there is a lot of anxiety about the future, a lot of fear, because we don't know how it will affect us."

But Arina's mother sees it completely differently: "My mom believes everything she sees on TV," Arina says.

"She believes that it was a necessary measure by Putin because there are weapons surrounding the country...there's a threat from the West, which is why Putin is doing this."

Arina says she even checked out a guide on a Russian online magazine for students, Doxa, suggesting how young Russians can talk with their parents and others about the war in Ukraine. "We understand how painful it can be when your parents, friends, colleagues, grandfathers and grandmothers turn into supporters of the war," it reads.

"So we decided to prepare a guide for how to talk about the war with those who justify it. In our guide you'll find answers to 17 of the most widespread arguments spread by propaganda and most often heard in fights," it said.

Arina read it just in time. On February 28, the magazine reported that the Russian government agency supervising communications, IT and mass media demanded Doxa remove the guide from its website.

Arina says she and her mother "had a very fierce argument."

"She just doesn't accept my position and thinks I'm a pro-Westerner, that I don't understand anything. She doesn't believe what I say, I don't believe what she says...We have very different sources of information: I learn everything from the independent media, which have mostly long been blocked in Russia, and she watches TV."

Helicopter drones over the Baltic Sea just south of Moldovan border.

I think you mean the Black Sea - as Moldova is no where near the Baltic Sea... :)

It’s really addictive I check it all the time now and get stuck on it for hours. I didn’t know it exists ( yeah I know I know I’m probably the only one) its so cool to see military planes go around patrolling borders. I was snooping on Swedish island Gotland for a while but nothing much going on there.

Well - I truly hope peace will come soon. I have planned on going to Gotland Island & to Faro Island where my sister is buried during the summer. Near have been there - so sister is taking me.

So - what's going on on the Latvia Eastern border with Russia. Any patrols?

Thank you Elley Mae, that is some history, isn't it? Now I understand why being neutral is in their constitution.

Poor little Moldova, being tossed around like a Russian football.

Now I REALLY want to visit there.

I love the song Moldova had at the EuroVision Grand Final in 2017.

I give it a 9! Quite the toe tapper! :)

Aha !

A USAF Hercules has been making runs into southern Poland less than 100km from the Ukraine border over several days.

Do you know what that beast, The Hercules, is primarily used for?

Troop movements ( which could also be for civilian evacuation) . As it keeps returning directly to Ramsden AFB, I suspect it's more likely being used for troop movements.

Some info about the Hercules:

Meanwhile in Russia:

"Google analytics showed that the word “emigration” saw a spike in searches over the last week while countless Telegram channels have been set up in which worried Russians are discussing ways to leave the country."

I do think most Russians have no way out of there, due to poverty and misinformed about the current situation.

I think many firms operating in Russia are up against some red tape and trying to determine how to not only navigate the situation but also find ways to reduce ongoing risks. Some firms are going to be stuck and take some blows IMO.

The “Big Four” accounting firms—KPMG, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young—have not severed ties, and legal regulations may make it difficult for them to do so, according to the Journal.

Volkswagen, IKEA And Spotify—Here’s The Growing List Of Companies Cutting Ties With Russia Over Invasion

One difficulty for the Big Four firms, according to people familiar with the matter, is that the Russian members of their networks are separate legal entities, answerable to local regulators.

The Big Four networks’s governing rules allow firms to be expelled only on specific grounds, such as gross misconduct. Booting a member firm because of the actions of its country's government would be a complicated, drawn-out process, the people said.

Re: Latvia

I'm not seeing any active military flights or drones over Latvia currently.

However there is a constant US Army Guardrail plane patrol / surveillance along the Lituanian border with Belarus. It almost flies into Latvia, and I think it's surveillance must see parts of the Latvia- Belarus border.

All this flight restriction seems to be a boon for Turkish airlines. They seem to be everywhere in Europe, and can operate in Belarus and Russia.

I hope they are not allowing ilicit Russian - based activities.

Turkey is a country the Allies ( us) need to be faithful to their NATO agreements.

Turkish President Erdogan is a slippery eel in politics, to be polite.

This is pretty much on par with expectations regarding progress, IMO. I am hopeful they do follow through on the humanitarian corridor commitments.

Second round of talks with Russia has ended with no breakthrough, Ukrainian negotiator says

From CNN’s Tim Lister and Katharina Krebs

A Ukrainian negotiator on Thursday said that a second round of talks with Russia is over but it didn’t deliver any results that Ukraine needed.

"The second round of negotiations is over. Unfortunately, the results Ukraine needs are not yet achieved. There is a solution only for the organization of humanitarian corridors," senior Ukrainian official Mykhailo Podolyak said in a tweet.
