Keystone pipeline was stalled by concerns that the pipe would leak - environmentalist concerns. The day that Biden was elected, he cancelled the keystone pipeline. There's a billion dollar lawsuit related this Biden decision. It's a violation of NAFTA.

There's a big difference between Canadian oil, Russian oil, Middle East oil and local fracking. Which is the cleanest oil? Are earthquakes actually a result of fracking? Hollywood celebrities claim that Canadian oil is dirtier than all other oil. The USA imports from Russia. Hollywood celebrities also support USA fracking as a clean oil option.

The USA continues to pay Putin for oil even though there's a better option in the little sister to the North.

YES!!!! I agree, we must find a way forward. Moo...

Yes, pipeline can leak. All pipelines have safe guards to detect leak. The pipelines in my area do monthly fly overs to also detect leaks, look for obstructions and potential damage. Locals are paid for/at the initial construction and receive a monthly stipend. I have two friends, with pipelines crosses their land. They've had no problems for the last 20 years. Moo..

The NATO headquarters are in Brussels and Moldoval is requesting USA sponsorship of their NATO application.

There is a lot going around about evacuations from cities cancelled because of continuing bombardments. It feels like now they are all in the mix....meaning...sometimes we see terrible pictures of people from Irpin, trying to flee, but text about other major cities in the south...Or am I the only one noticing that.

It's very much like what Russia did to to civilian Syrian population to help Assad gain control.

And those should have been treated as war crimes, right then ams there

More than 2,000 anti-war protestors arrested in Russia
Russian police have arrested more than 2,034 people at anti-war protests in cities across Russia on Sunday, the OVD-Info protest monitor said.

Putin holding talks with Macron
Russian state television has confirmed that Russian president Vladimir Putin is holding talks with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. This comes after Putin spoke with Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan earlier today.

Conflict will only end if Ukraine stops fighting - Putin
Russia will only stop its invasion of Ukraine if Volodymyr Zelenskiy's country stops fighting and Moscow's demands are met, the Kremlin has said in a statement.

Fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since WW2
Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, has issued a warning to the world, stating that "More than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine have crossed into neighbouring countries in 10 days - the fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II," tweeted Grandi.

War could last months, if not years - Raab
The United Kingdom's deputy prime minister, Dominic Raab, has warned that Russia's invasion of Ukraine could last months or even years. "We ought to be under no doubt that our mission with our allies is to ensure [Vladimir] Putin fails in Ukraine and is going to take some time," Raab said on Sky News on Sunday. "We're talking about months, if not years, and therefore we'll have to show some strategic stamina because this is not going to be over in days."

The US Secretary of States plane is/ was only 96 miles from Odessa, while in Moldova

THIS may explain Putin's sudden threats to bomb Odessa

There is also what looks like a very discrete "sweep" of the airport runways by two very close-moving unidentified aircraft or possibly airport maintenance or support vehickes outfitted with trackers at very slow speed currently ongoing

Elon Musk to supply more Starlink broadband internet receivers to Ukraine. On Thursday, the owner of space company SpaceX indicated that Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still working in some parts of Ukraine after the Russian invasion. President Volodymyr Zelensky says he spoke with Musk on Saturday. It was said that the country will get more receivers to be able to use broadband internet via Musk's satellite network Starlink.

Elon Musk waarschuwt: 'Gebruik Starlink in Oekraïne alleen als het echt nodig is' | NU - Het laatste nieuws het eerst op NU.nl

SpaceX owner Elon Musk points out that there is a high probability that his satellite network Starlink for broadband internet will be attacked in Ukraine. The internet should therefore only be used if there is absolutely no other option.

"Important warning: In some parts of Ukraine, Starlink is the only non-Russian communication system still working. The chances of being targeted are high. Be careful," Musk wrote on Twitter .

Starlink does not require ground cables because the service uses satellites. However, a receiver is required.

Musk asks people to use Starlink only when absolutely necessary and to place the receiver as far away from people as possible. He also advises "putting light camouflage over the antenna to avoid visual detection".

In Ukraine, internet services in several places in the country have been disrupted by the Russian invasion. There are problems with the connection, especially in the east and west of the country, where there is heavy fighting.

Musk therefore decided to turn to Starlink for Ukraine last week, after Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov asked him for help. He also sent more recipients to the country.

How...stop the wagon....we can keep talking and talking (without knowing what is the subject...hé Vladdie, how is the weather up there, did you sleep alright, how is your ingrown tow nail, etc.?)

Saying in flat Dutch......Niet lullen, maar poetsen! It seems everything is going to fall on deaf ears.

Ukrainian loses parent to Russian propaganda: 'I can consider myself an orphan' (kyivindependent.com)
“I woke up from a call from a friend. He told me Russia was bombing Kyiv,” says Artem Basistiy, a 29-year-old from Crimea, who had lived in Kyiv for the last four years.

“Then I heard a siren going off, quickly grabbed the dog, and ran to the shelter. After the air raid was over, I called my mom to tell her I was alive, she answered ‘what are you talking about? Of course, you are. Putin is trying to save you.’

[...]

“I begged my mom not to watch Russian propaganda and to open other sources — Ukrainian, American, or British, doesn’t matter. But she told me they were zombifying us,” Artem said.

[...]

On the fourth day of the war, he decided to join the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine. So far, he has not entered its ranks, waiting for his turn.

“I called her again in a few days, hoping she followed my advice, read some independent news outlets, and watched videos I sent her,” Artem said. “Unfortunately, nothing changed at all. Even after the destroyed apartment buildings in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Sumy… She said we were hitting our own citizens with high-precision artillery.”

[...]

Later Basistiy posted a story on Instagram saying: “02/03/2022, the day I lost my mom.”

He was devastated, wanted to tear everything, throw things, cry, bang his head against the wall. He was having a nervous breakdown, he said. He hoped that at least his father would support and believe him, but he couldn’t know for sure as there was no way to reach him.

[...]

Basistiy’s father is from Grozny, Chechnya, the city war-torn by Russia twice, in 1994-1996 and 1999-2000, what is known as the First and Second Chechen War. His family fled to Crimea accompanied by soldiers, having only minimal belongings.

“My father knows what war is firsthand. I really hope that we will get in touch soon and he will understand everything and be able to convey this to my mom. Otherwise, I can consider myself an orphan with 100% certainty.”

This, and other stories like this one, is just so sad. I know that the older generation of Russians are indoctrinated by Putin's years of propaganda and control but how can a Mother not believe the words from her own child's mouth, when that child is literally there experiencing it firsthand, how can she be so resolute as to not even question the foreign media blackouts and the threat of martial law when her child is telling her "Mum,hear what is happening to us"?.

What on earth this innocent people did to deserve this???!!!

Putin blames Ukraine for recent Zaporizhzhi nuclear plant incident

President Vladimir Putin has blamed “Ukrainian radicals” for an incident on 3 March at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, the Kremlin said.

French President Emmanuel Macron asked Putin during a phone call about a fire at Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant.

“Vladimir Putin informed about the provocation by Ukrainian radicals in the area of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” the Kremlin said.

“The radiation levels are normal.”

Putin also accused Ukraine of preventing civilians from leaving Mariupol.

I saw a video of a journalist in Russia showing people images of the death and destruction. Too many of them wrote it off as fake news and “well, we’re not seeing that in our media so it can’t be true” and “we agree with Putin defending our country from the west” and a kind of “don’t be silly, why we would we bomb Kiev”.

Absolutely shameful.

Propaganda is a dangerous weapon. I wish that all Russian people would know what’s really happening. Understand that their main enemy its their own President. Maybe they will soon I hope..
