Might be sad news incoming given the removal of the missing person updates. News nonetheless

If they have found Sam - or when they find Sam - everyone (media included) will be quiet until her family are all informed and given a little time to process whatever has happened.

imo

Why would someone kidnap her? ....
Kidnapping implies a ransom I guess. It was not my intention to limit it to that reason. So take my intended meaing as more generally as "abducted" or taken involuntarily.

It looks like it has been removed ... which is interesting!
I can see this via their FB page

pretty sure professionals are not thick on the ground in Ballarat

Ballarat is pretty much a country town still.

Strange. I wonder if there is going to be an update.
I think maybe police are pissed off at all the attention from people trying to solve the crime, all of us ,they are under great pressure now they're trying to keep it to themselves or maybe they know something

Some great work from websleuths stating stalkers, maybe someone who's infatuated with her.
Maybe she left an impression on someone, but to do this maybe the person was following her around if she didn't state that she was being followed or thought her life was in danger,

I was going to say not likely a hit and run cover-up, but thinking about it more, there would likely in this scenario be signs of a fresh disturbance and blood splatter. If police have found this scene with no body, then they would know that SM was taken from the area.

It could explain why the police know that she definitely left the house for a run and also why they want to know about any car seen around the area (on the trail or on either side of the trails?) during the window of time.
Ok if it's an accident has there been any sound or any vehicles in the bush going fast rallying in the past, and if someone heard on Sunday the day she disappeared car racing through the bush as they do in the state forest,

or she *didn't* think her life was in danger.

I believe that we will all know very shortly by Vicpol.
I'm checking the magistrate's list in advance and there's been a few people who have "family violence," next to type of hearing with multiple case numbers. However, it is circumspect and can be related to another matter altogether.

Edit- of note, can't get into it right now, interesting

It's interesting though, MO if a sudden big police presence occurred that stuff usually makes local FB groups etc and is not kept under wraps for long
I think there will be an announcement soon, but they may wait until tomorrow for the family ….??
IMO

If you click on the link to the police website (at the end of the written FB piece, where it says "more info") this comes up.

Yes, I saw that. Posts are usually removed from FB as well.

It points this way as its so neat and (from whats publicly known) to be with no trace. Not hard to throw a phone out a car window to hamper the accuracy of a search. An opportunistic crime/accident is so unlikely to leave little evidence. Its obviously possible, but so low on the likelihood scale

Hoping for a miracle and that she’s alive.

Yes, could quite easily be the case. It could have been planned for some time.
There would some 'Interesting' people in her husband's line of work that he would know quite well and his customers would know. The fact, there is no trace of any anything is strange
If she did go for her run, it would be very easy to kidnap her somewhere isolated on one of those tracks, especially when so many people know her movement

But why ??? Divorce, new romance ???
