If we're going down the road that she was kidnapped possibly one person and was not done for money ,why because there's no ransom note. Maybe someone from her past, or a person who's not well.or the husband
Maybe there IS a ransom note. IMO, if a ransom note had been received, police wouldn't release such information at this time. JMO

I think it's quite odd, that her husband is not out there helping with the search.

Instead, he has made a statement to thank everyone for going out looking for Samantha.

I think this has been premeditated for a while, and she has been taken right away somewhere where It's not close to home, for the obvious search parties, and so she is not easily found, possibly a paid hit

I think more than one person is involved

But why ?

And why his wife Samantha ? If it was revenge, why not his kids ?

Something the police would be digging into his affairs and the families.

CCTV footage at home and businesses, communications experts checking Samantha's phone and data

( Interesting, the police have said she had her Apple Watch on her when she was leaving, but are now saying she might not have been wearing it ) Which gives me the impression there is more CCTV footage from her home and the police are being quiet on

I wouldn't be surprised if surveillance is already going ahead

And possibly Interpol could be involved

Can you elaborate on this information please?

One previously police-issued photo of the mother showed her wearing what appeared to be an Apple Watch, which has SOS technology and can detect a fall or accident, but it is not known if she was wearing the device at the time of her run.

Doesn't seem that the police said that, nor did retired homicide detective Charlie Bezzina.

It seems that Sky News just threw that in from some unnamed source. And they said it 4 days after Sam disappeared. (article dated 8th Feb)

Former Victorian homicide detective Charlie Bezzina said the two devices would form the early part of the investigation into the missing respected woman.
"These electronic devices are crucial in any such investigation for a search to see and try and pinpoint where she may well in fact be," he told Sunrise.

'Anything that is going to be released, they'll release it,' he said. 'We're not talking mate. Thanks very much.'

Mr Robson said he was hopeful some sort of news would be forthcoming 'soon'.

'But don't worry about it. There's not much anyone can do until something turns up. Thanks for your endeavours,' he said.

These comments from SM’s father make me wonder if the Police are following some kind of lead and don’t want any speculation or leaked information tainting the investigation.

We can only hope this is the case…. And that Samantha is found soon.

Otherwise he is telling us that nothing has turned up???

That was the only word of the passage, which is intriguing.

Which means there was some time with her with the plastic bag wearing her Apple Watch, to the time she supposedly went running, as police said that was the last footage of her before she went out, but are now questioning that they are not sure if she was wearing it when she went running. Which could mean, she still didn't do that run. Which is all very odd.

The family might not be informed of any or all of the progress going on behind the scene.

This case is bewildering. If all the paths she could have walked/ran have been searched and she is not there, you would think maybe she was taken away from the scene. Is there any car access from the trails. Maybe LE are checking cctv and traffic cams in the areas around the trail. This would take time if they had to look into all that. Its not going to show her inside a car unless its a clear shot.
My thoughts keep leaning towards a mine shaft. It seems to be the most logical explanation :(

Watching a very good program under investigation tonight about a missing woman police butched that one up ,I don't trust police much I got reasons to, they like anyone else they make mistakes, we must remember that a woman is missing and her family is very upset if the police are keeping information to themselves then they know who they're going after

They wouldn't be. The police might say we are following plenty of lines of inquiry, but that would be it, especially if someone they know could be involved. Police would have told them, don't speak to the Media or you could stuff up the Investigation

Country Towns are good for police investigations, as everyone talks and everyone knows someone, people there are observant, they know If they see something strange out of their ordinary there

I think the immediate family will be the first to know if there are any developments, but they probably are not informed of specific leads. Not unless something develops.

I bet they know what times the phone pinged though, and if the police are having any luck with Samantha's potential GPS readings.

And then this information could be filtered further, by the immediate family, before it reaches the ears of the extended family (parents, brothers, sisters, etc). Depending on the level of confidentiality the police are requesting.

Maybe @ediethedog knows how deep the police updates to the family might go (having been involved in a similar situation).

imo

A new article from the Herald Sun

Paraphrased:

More than a dozen detectives from specialist Melbourne-based units have been called in to assist with Samantha’s case

Extra detectives have been sent to chase leads contained in the hundreds of information reports which have been generated.

The extra detectives have come from fraud, counter-terror, sex crimes and armed robbery investigation units.

Those officers have been called in because they are experienced and have a background of working on protracted investigations.

Snip…

Still nothing specific about the “ping” … Her mobile phone “pinged” off a tower at Buninyong, later on February 4 but has been inactive since.

Paywalled for some:

Wow
It might mean local Police are still "in the woods" if they ask Melbourne for help.

Not good :(

I'm going to post quite a few images. I can't put the pieces together, but perhaps it will help one of our sleuths.

There's the police chopper search patterns from day 1 onward.

Some maps of the mobile/cell towers and which ones which were surprisingly non-operative on the day.

And a few interesting things I noticed surrounding the property. There's an object which has been attached to the gate. It looks like a wireless doorbell camera, but I couldn't find anything that resembled it online. Perhaps someone can help identify what it is. If it was a wireless camera, that could add a whole new angle (excuse the pun) to what we have seen so far.

There's also a very attentive dog who was spooked by the google street view camera car. That's just a car, imagine how interested this dog would be in a human.

Not sure why the need for an electric fence. Perhaps the previous owners had cattle etc?

I also spotted another CCTV camera. I guess it didn't pick anything up or we would have heard about it.

edit: I'll have to post the other images separately as there's some technical problem uploading.
