It’s actually only a 6.1 acre block … which is a normal size “rural residential” block ..

IMO
Yes. I had friends living is Wilson Street yrs ago across the road from the bush that we walked in.. They also had an acreage. So if 6.1 acres blocks are now common in Eureka Street, what are these properties used for? To live in, but generally what do they do with the rest of the property? What did the Murphies use their property for? Storage, horses, nothing in particular???

When Theo Hayez went missing in Byron Bay NSW it took Police longer to get any information from the phone company so Theos family had someone experienced get into his Google account which was alot quicker then waiting for the phone company.
I’m really not sure about the watch working if phone is switched off as I haven’t read much about them but might look into that tonight and get myself up to date on technology! H I’ll just say that I was saddened & appalled by this information
As a society we must wake up! i
We must invest in the development of our Youth, which leads the to the jj solving of crimes.

One would expect a whole heap of learning as a legacy for Theo - has thst happpened ?

I don't know if you ever followed the Gary Tweddle case. The dogs tracked Gary from his hotel to the middle of a bitumen road, then that was it. We all thought he was picked up by a car there.
Turns out he wandered through the bush and fell off a cliff, was found on a ledge much later.

The dogs just couldn't track him there, for whatever reasons. I agree that the dogs are not infallible. Though many people think they are.

imo
I agree. But really depends on how specialised the dog training was. Stopping on a bitumen road could be something to do with the tar smell taking over the dogs noses.

Appart from the sheds to store his car collection, I don't know. Maybe just for having the paddocks and dams to look out upon. Maybe a couple of horses. It is quite common to not do much with them. I know people that have larger acerages and just use them for weekend escapes.

Some years ago I had a 10 acre block ... a tree lined drive way etc. I doubt my family would’ve given a second thought when I said I was going for a run.

🤬🤬🤬🤬 happens in life, but we trust not to us!

There is really nothing that they need to tell the public, though.

Just ... this is what Samantha looked like when she disappeared, this was the last place she was known to be, on this date at this time, her regular run is trails through the Canadian Forest. She is still missing.

imo
The public hasn't really been told the facts from the beginning, the public doesn't need to know the specifics of what the police are doing

But there has been no clear indication from the police. A lot from her relatives though, instead, her say and his say.

One minute we are told she had an 11 am brunch with family, then it's a 9 am meeting

No mention if she had a water bottle, headphones. She was wearing her smartwatch and had her phone. The police could have mentioned this and say, could the public keep an eye out for these items etc....

Everything is a bit wishy-washy

Hopefully it's calm before the storm

What if an alleged abductor was parked up the lane further… ??? Watching and waiting in their car, possibly for a few hours waiting for Sam to enter the lane, and she routinely turns right onto the lane, (heading to Eureka Street) that person could approach her and abduct her from behind ..??

If the dogs were still inside the house, they may not have been aware ???

Just Speculation and IMO
Yes, and they could have waited until she got down the lane a bit further, away from their driveway where her dogs and family members may have been lingering.

Agree….

I think the environment being searched, needs to be pristine … and not trampled on by anyone else, to be most successful …

IMO
Esp if someone is wearing the same deodorant, or spray deodorant, hairspray, dry shampoo, laundry powder, the fragrance could easily put them off.

I hope the searchers will be very cautious and careful.
Off the tracks areas can be very treacherous :(

I'm glad the Aboriginal tracker is there.
I heard they are the best!!!

Fingers crossed!

IF it was the meeting indeed, it seems to have been very important, at least to MM. He reported SM's disappearing after 2 hours already. Reason was the missed meeting at 9am.

Thanks TGY. So she would not need to take your phone, if you were wearing your watch?
Right! Just the watch and EarPods. If I get a call I tap the EarPods and speak, then switch back to music (or whatever) on Spotify.
The watch will pay ‘tap and go’ for items as well.

New article…. SM’s Dad claims that Police have silenced him.

This part of the article peaked my interest.

~It is understood both Allan and Janice Robson have since been told not to speak with media representatives for fear of 'tainting the police investigation'. ~

i don’t get the tainting the police investigation part? If someone was just genuinely missing, through no suspicious circumstances or foul play, what could there be to taint? Even if LE knew nothing, why wouldnt you want the family and even close friends out there being a voice to help find SM? I think back to Theo Hayez, his father, cousin and godfather were very vocal in an attempt to either find Theo, or find out what happened to him.

It’s what leads me to believe LE have at least an inkling, if not more into what happened to SM. And like with Carol Clay and Russell Hill, they can’t just come out all guns blazing accusing someone/s without actual fact based evidence that can and will hold up in a court of law.

I don't think it's unusual for investigators to ask family to avoid media. Police want to keep the family updated, family want updates, but that doesn't mean investigators want every step of the investigation to be shared with potential suspects via the media.

This may also be why we haven’t seen any more public appeals from MM or daughter. Perhaps Police have advised against it. I do hope the Police are onto something!

At first, it seemed like Samantha had an accident or mishap while running at the park. After investigators realized that there was no CCTV footage of Samantha between the end of her driveway and the park, the investigation pivoted from lost jogger to suspicious disappearance.

Police obtained information from Samantha's electronic devices around the same time that the investigation pivoted. My personal opinion is that smart watch data (synced with other devices) told police something that they have not told us - an unexpected heart rate spike shortly after leaving her property.

Lost jogger requires collaboration and cooperation between searchers and the public to ensure that all areas are searched. Suspicious disappearance at the end of the driveway requires discretion regarding what information is released publicly to insure that potential suspects are not provided a heads-up about the investigation.

I’m leaning towards abduction now, initially MM may have believed Samantha had an accident, but later realised it could have been connected to something going on in their lives, possibly business wise, or they received a “message “ from someone after he had been to the police.
It would explain the apparent half hearted press conference,MM was probably told to say as little as possible, and dont answer any questions, as it appears the wider family has also been told.
This would also explain why they are so anti the media.

I wonder if there is cctv of any vehicles in the road/s at this time in the vicinity of the property.
I mean, there should be.

If there was an abduction,
it must have been swift.

Was there a report of any commotion?

Or it was somebody she knew well and had no objection to get into a vehicle.

They most likely have been told to keep away from the media, shut your mouths about any of this, as the police have probably said to them, we are following numerous important leads, the same reason why the police haven't been doing any updates press conferences. Everything has gone quiet.

The police have their own trackers as well, they have everything they need at their disposal
You seem to have a lot of faith in the police. I hope you’re right.

...

This seems plausible. Also it would make sense that she just wore the apple watch and left the phone that was synced to it at home. Makes sense if going for a jog to not carry around the weight of the phone. This ties in with the ping to the mobile tower that supposedly shows the ping from near a golf course (I didn't think the location could be narrowed down that much given just one tower operating).

That ping must have been from the apple watch. Meanwhile the synced apple phone is still back at the house and either another family member knew how to access/authenticate with it.
