"deliberate attack on Samantha" (emphatic) - intentional act

Not looking for anyone else, no accomplice.

Was a deliberate attack on Samantha.

Not looking for anyone else, he is the only suspect. It was a deliberate attack on Samantha, hence,, this is why he is charged with murder. An intentional act.

He was located thru a range of events, phone, door knocks, trail stuff..

Football training is a 10 min drive from Mt Clear. He could have been in the area for training.

More likely if drugs involved he was coming home from a friends house out that late or a nightclub (they shut at 4-5am in Ballarat).

A lot of people up at 5am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning in Ballarat, probably not as many at 7am, but a lot go to "kick on's" at a friends house.

A deliberate attack on Samantha.

No accomplices.

He will not tell Police where the body is.

Out of interest - can you be charged with murder if you killed someone without intent and covered it up? For example, driving under the influence, hit someone with your car, disposed of body, attempted to cover up the crime. Is that murder? I always thought murder had to be intentional
the police officer just said by its definition murder in this case was a deliberate attack on Samantha

She was murdered on the day of her disappearance.

Heartbreaking Samantha was murdered the day she disappeared at Mount Clear. Infuriating the alleged murderer isn't telling police where her body is located. Profoundly sad outcome, even if I did think there was a slim chance of survival.

From questions from media
  • Police not disclosing locations where they are searching for her body
  • Not looking for anyone else
  • Believe this was a deliberate attack, but police not disclosing if opportunistic or otherwise
  • Not going into the details of how she died, just saying she was murdered
  • Police will not allege this was a hit run

Nevermind. They've said it was intentional. (Modsnip).

I sadly did not expect her to still be alive, but I'm enraged he won't tell them where her body is. Utterly selfish.

I just saw from a journalist on Twitter police allege this was an intentional attack.... this gets worse and worse. Absolutely horrific

Samantha's family were told about arrest last night. Were told about the charges this afternoon.

A number of search warrants were used yesterday.

Source on child *advertiser censored* is SOCIT doing active work on the suspect who has been on their radar for quite some time. Will see if more comes of it.

But info I have is they were on drugs, driving super recklessly around and he has crashed his car multiple times.

Not a one off in terms of the drug driving/driving wrecklessly etc.

Will be interesting to see if all is true in the coming time though.
Is there a link to charges? A mainstream media source, or is this hearsay that you read somewhere online?

deliberate attack resulting in death (implying not a hit & run then panic)
