Grenville is on the Buninyong /Mt Mercer road, same road as where the dam is where the phone was found. Coming down south from Mr Clear, thru Buninyong, just outside Buninyong is the property with that distinctively shaped dam, then keeping south to Grenville.

He was short of time, Dr S.. he was in a hurry, he had to move fast, and get back to where he was supposed to be.....

He could not go as far as say, Torquay or Apollo Bay, or out west to Horsham, or up to Ouyen, no spare time.. ,... he was restricted, perhaps... ..

Detectives from missing persons squad lead fresh search in Grenville area, south of Ballarat

A new search has been launched for the remains of missing Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy, with the latest operation involving officers from interstate and the Australian Federal Police.

Specialist resources from other arms of VicPol, NSWPOL, and the AFP.

Police are (again) asking the public to stay away. (From your link)

Maybe AFP and NSW dogs are involved.
I see that the AFP recruited 4 dogs back in 2020, and may even have more. Australian Federal Police
Although the AFP also have specialists in forensics and intelligence - going by their website.

Maybe he's talking, starting to feel the heat
Especially after his defence has gone through all the CCTV and evidence

I think if he is talking, he will be with them ... showing them the location.

They possibly wouldn't need other specialists from outside VicPol.

No. Not if there is more to this. They will keep it close to their chests, away from the media.

I think something has come from his defence team

Or Maybe as well... It's staged to get him nervous
He has been under surveillance in prison and has told someone
They have got new info off Samantha's phone

Not always. In the highly publicised case in Sydney earlier this year, the defendant in that case told police where to look for the bodies. They didn't road trip with him.

MOO

I was thinking of the Matthew Leveson case when I said that. Because the location was a bit murky, and it took them a while to find Matthew.
But they didn't bring in specialists from the AFP. VicPol are obviously needing specialist help in one form or another.
Which makes me think it is possible that no-one is talking.

I wonder if the NSW police are involved because he crossed the border at some point ? Or if they are just extra helping hand

I think they used NSW cadaver dogs in past searches. (VicPol doesn't have any.) I suspect that is their involvement.

This is from a previous search for Sam, where NSW supplied the cadaver dog resources ..... Police have ended their search for the day after bringing in specialist cadaver dogs from New South Wales to scour the Victorian bush at multiple locations in the hunt for missing mother Samantha Murphy.
