Did Susan Powell know all the shady thoughts lurking in her husband's mind?
I assume this type of attitude is just a protective response that says this could NEVER happen to me because I live with my husband, and I would *know* if he was up to something. If you don't live with a sociopath you are probably right. If you do live with a sociopath you might not be as fortunate in those insights. (generally speaking, not directed at anyone poster).
Sandra and Jesse both travel extensively for their jobs.
Both are gone for extensive amounts of time.
He only had to play his role of a good husband for short spurts of time.
Being in hollywood you have to ignore some of the rumors or your relationship has no chance at all.
It is entirely possible she truly believed that he had a wild child past but had grown up. You do better when you know better sort of thing. Hardly the first rescuer in the world. Some might find her desire, even if misplaced, and willingness to look beyond the reputation, rumors, and misdeeds of someone's past admirable.
I personally think if she knew all these things she wouldn't be stunned and shocked to find out about some publicity hungry





selling her story, or her peers coming out behind her.
A woman who leaves the house within hours of finding out, who hasn't gone back, who has made no excuses for him... that doesn't seem like a knowing and enabling spouse to me.
