I tracked Santa, too... Christmas 2007 was the best tracking year, ever... they actually did 24 hr real time and started at the international date line. :D

As for NORAD tracking the satellite... safe bet says yes.

**as in tracking like they do most satellites, but not for the public to view. It's a spy satellite... its orbit coordinations are probably highly protected from general public knowledge.**

I have a 1900 kilograms weighing Russian 'surveillance and other military' satellite hanging over my house right now, according to this.

UPDATE: Large spy satellite could hit North America
U.S. military developing contingency plans to deal with possibility

Quote:

"Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, who heads U.S. Northern Command, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the size of the satellite suggests that some number of pieces will not burn up as the orbiting vehicle re-enters the Earth's atmosphere and will hit the ground."

LOL, MsPooh, I didn't think of it that way. This should be old hat to them and yes, a contingency plan should be in place!

If not, I can lend them my slingshot for a few days....
