I get so weary of charges being things like sexual conduct, etc. Call it what it is. I believe the term they are looking for is rape. An 11 year old cannot consent. Pizzes me off when they minimize it with this sort of terminology.

This abuse was reported back in November and he was only just now charged. His bond is a paltry $50,000. Ridiculous. MOO

"According to an incident report, the teenage victim told officers in November 2024 that Brown had sexually exploited her since she was 11.

The report continued, stating that she had a baby with Brown at 13 years old due to the abuse.

Nearly a year after the girl met with police, the Aiken Department of Public Safety announced Brown was apprehended."

It took a year for him to be arrested. I mean, I assume that her pregnancy must have flagged up something and then they must have needed to DNA test the baby as part of the investigation, but this is nonsense.

Hard agree. These crimes should be described for what they are: sexual assault, rape, etc. It seems petty, but frequently the language used to describe these kinds of violent sexual acts obscure how heinous they are.

At least she was accurately referred to as a child — too often are child victims like this are described as “young women”, if not by the state then by media outlets.

50,000 bond is a joke pulled on the victim and her family as many non violent drug war offenses are that much.

Eta- It's worth noting that WBT is in Charlotte NC and a quick scan of local news in Aiken isn't running it yet.

Eta again to add that this was reported on 8-22 so I guess we are late. At any rate, the bond is concerning.
