SC SC - Amir Jennings, 18 mo., Columbia, Nov 2011

I am clarifying my opinion here....since it has been misconstrued.

I do not think Zinah's mother is mean. Not sure why you included me?????

I'm sure she was hoping that Amir was with his father safe and sound.

I was suggesting that she may be in denial about what was actually going on her daughter's life. That was nothing close to calling her mean.

Sorry, Ella Mae. Not putting any words in your mouth. I was just trying to carry the conversation forward so my post made sense.

From Amster's post, I thought there was some confusion about who was keeping Amir from his dad. The article reads very "present tense", so on the first read I was also thinking that it was grandma.

When you said maybe the grandma has a reason to dislike the dad, I wondered if we had any knowledge that she doesn't like him or what those reasons might be. I haven't heard her say anything about him except for the quote about Amir possibly being with him which, like you, I believe was wishful thinking. And an old quote from earlier in the search.

I haven't heard anything from LE about the dad except to say that Amir is definitely not with him. I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard more from him or someone else about their relationship.

:bump:

Where are you little Amir?

If she was noticed (by her father) in the back yard with a shovel, have they searched the yard? Have SAR dogs been to the home in question?

Sorry, it was her stepfather, and my link didn't post. Sorry!

I guess my point was that IF the dad had the baby without permission.....and IF he had been kept away from Amir for a good reason such as violence or drug abuse, then maybe that was why the grandmother didn't like him and thought he was capable of taking the baby and hiding him. He says he wasn't allowed to see Amir often, and I wondered if there was a issue with him.

That would not make the grandmother "mean".......just concerned about Amir when with the dad.

All of this is just speculation anyway. We know nothing about the dad, and he could be a great kid. There could be a problem with Zinah's side of the family making it difficult for him to see Amir.

I wish he did have the baby.

Oh No! No! That sounds very suspicious, and very bad for Amir.

It makes me sick to read that.

Have we not heard anything else about the clothing/blankets? That was reported on January 10th ~ you would think there would be a big enough rush to find this baby that they would have the results by now.

Did Z even hurt herself in the car accident ?? Enough for bloody blankets??
Where are you Amir??? xo

It was just reported at www.wltx.com and www.wistv.com that Zinah Jennings is pregnant.:furious:

-- An attorney for the mother of a South Carolina toddler missing since Thanksgiving says his client is pregnant and should be released from jail.

Hemphill Pride II says in court papers filed earlier this week that 22-year-old Zinah Jennings needs pre-natal care. Pride says he has known about the pregnancy for a week.

Officers are conducting their search in an 8-mile radius area near a church off Heyward Brockington Road. That area is north of Interstate 20 in Richland County between Fairfield Road and Monticello Road.

A command post has been set up as police conduct their search, and they are being assisted by the State Law Enforcement Division, the FBI, and the Columbia-Richland Fire Department.

News19' Clark Fouraker reports from the scene that officers used K-9 dogs as part of their search.

So far, investigators have not yet said what has led them today to this area.

Wow! Praying hard that LE has good information and that they are able to find Amir. I have a hard time saying that, but it seems apparent that he is likely gone and just needs to be found. With the bloody clothes, lying to LE, and everything in this case, Amir needs to be found. Prayers for the searchers! What a difficult task, and one that I do NOT envy!

(originally posted by TexasLil) OK so this is basically saying... "I'll be on tv if I can wear cutsie clothes but if I have to be in this orange jumpsuit I refuse!" What BS!

Did poor Amir have the right to choose life?

Quote:
Pride's motion also asks the judge to "bar media coverage of any and all future court proceedings," if the court would not allow her to appear in "civilian clothing."

bbm = I am shaking with anger and disgust. Who the heck does this chick think she is? She can get prenatal care in jail or in the psych ward...hopefully someone sticks close by and ensures that baby is taken from her and properly taken care of. As for the clothes ~ what?? She sure is acting entitled...how dare she! Where is Amir lady???!!!

I'm a little raw over the baby boy that was found mummified in Jamaica ~ those parents had four children here in Toronto - they literally threw their little girl in a freezing stairwell to die - daddy was jailed for less than a year, mom fined - three other children malnourished. They were free to leave and have another baby and this whole situation sickens me to no end! Something has to be done about these people having more babies to hurt!!!!

Alphonso, who is 32, served half of a 22-month sentence for abandoning his daughter and failing to the provide the necessities of life to the three other children. Stephanie, who is 34, was fined $300 under the Ontario Child and Family Services Act.

Very odd....said they had 8.5 mile are to search. That was quick....

News19's Clark Fouraker reports that K-9 officers and cadaver dogs were part of their search.

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says a "credible tip" led his officers to this location

That area looks brutally dense. It makes me heart sick thinking that baby would be there. Credible tip? Someone who knows for a fact, but not mom? ugh!!
