Identified! SC - Clarendon Co., Skeletal remains in woods, Jun'14 - Clartha McLeod

I'm not saying that I think this is Heather, but I did have an immediate thought. When did they report being shot at, on the way to or from Georgetown to see an attorney late at night? From Socastee, you could go down to Georgetown, and through Kingstree to get to the Manning area/Clarendon County. I think it may add half an hour to the drive, but I can imagine them thinking they're outsmarting someone somehow, by going that route.

ETA: Then again, I think they had the kids with them, so who knows what the heck I'm talking about?

You would take 378 to go from Socastee to where the remains were found. This is a post TM made on her Disboards....

"Your Disney night sounds wonderful! I want one of those. What way do you guys go? If you go 378 through Conway it saves a good bit of time. You don't have to deal with all the red lights and anti speed zones."

This post popped into my mind the minute I saw this thread.
God knows, these people are capable of anything.

So, thinking out loud, with the ocean being right there, why might someone choose land over water as a dump site? Fear of the body washing up?
There would be a lot of obstacles for using the ocean as a dumping ground. The biggest I can think of right now is just OWNING a boat. If you are one of the lucky ones who do, it would be awfully hard to avoid cameras, towing a boat, in the middle of the night. And it's not like you just pull up to the beach and put your boat in the waves. You'd have to go to a boat ramp somewhere and that body of water would have to lead to the ocean. The easiest would be Murrells Inlet, but their closest would be PTL or the Swing Bridge. You would have to be an avid boater to get from either of those, to the ocean, without getting lost, especially in the dark of night.

Say they didn't have a boat, which I don't recall any mention of them owning one. What then? Who do you call in the middle of the night to borrow a boat? I don't know anyone who would lend out their boat, for any reason to anyone, but especially not in the middle of the night.

In my mind, the Moorer pair seem diabolical enough to pull something like that off under their kids noses. If Heather were in the locked tool box, the children would have no idea. From there, Sidney could have dropped Tammy and her brood off somewhere, say, like a fast food joint, then did a quick, pre-chosen dump run, and returned with kids none the wiser.

*Shudder*

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Heather is found 3 states away or 5 minutes from the M home. These people drove to CA and back...killed Heather...then drove to FL. She could be anywhere and I don't think they'd mind any distance as far as driving goes. I also don't think that they are above putting Heather in a container and taking her along with their kids. They didn't mind the the kids living in filth. Nothing would shock me at this point. Evil...both of them.

Agree, and well said!

"Take 501 (or 544) to 501 in Conway. From there you yake hwy 378....you'll be on it for about an hour or so then you hit I 95 and you stay on it 'til you hit I4. It's the fastest easiest way from here. A lot of people take 17 because Mapquest or people tell them to but 17 is so time consuming! It may be literally 1-2 miles shorter but you go through so many little towns and by the time you calculate all the time in it's an extra 45 minutes to an hour that way. More if you hit traffic." ~ TM

It's probably not Heather. Just pointing out that the M's travel near the remains.

Bringing this news story down from Heather's Media thread posted by Hoppy. A few more specifics. Thanks to Hoppy for this. Apparently, the cadaver dog hit on more remains.

I don't know if this is Heather or not, but this route seems like an easy run from the Moorers house and it sure sounds as if Tammy knows it well. Anything is a possibility, though, because we are not privy to the police tracking of the M's movements after they left Peachtree heading towards their home. Would love to know what areas they have been spotted in days following Heather's disappearance. If Tammy planned this murder, though, IMO, the disposal would be more clandestine, not leaving her to be stumbled upon like this. I could be very wrong too! However, the location of these bones are on the Moorer's preferred route to Florida as per Tammy on the disboards, so it might be a possibility Moonchild is out there. I pray they find her before trial.

I think the remains are from one person but scattered around by animals.:waitasec:

Unless a body was well sealed in something, it would have been a little ripe by then. But I can definitely see Heather being locked in the tool box and transported to anywhere that night or the next day.

There were clothes found with the female remains. They are looking at the possibility that it is an older missing woman.

But, having said that, I continue to remember TCM describing, on her TammysMagicaltravels blog site, a stretch of that road, 378, as "Roadkill HWY." You can't even access the cached page now without having a google account.
