This is getting nuts, we can't even differentiate real sightings from fake ones now.

Although the video that just popped up with the two guys jogging at 7 am, seemed pretty fake...but regardless it's just feeding into whole myth and causing more people to spread false panic.

Whether your purposely crafting a fake viral video or donning a clown suit and scaring people, it needs to stop before all these news reports start ending with fatalities.

Let's have a party!

'Hey, guys, time to cool the clown hysteria!' Stephen King defends costumed pranksters as paranoia over 'killer clowns' sweeps the country

I agree, the Clown hysteria has evolved through social media. Social media which provides an outlet for, and is the culprit for many, many bad things going on in today's culture, including, just to name a few:

-Bullying
-Death by Selfies (have you checked this out? It's astounding)
-Suicides

Just look around, what are young people, especially the millennials down to eight year olds, doing constantly ? They have their noses in their cell phones looking at fb, twitter, whatever. How can that be healthy? It takes them away from real life. They're almost robots. And, they do this while they're driving down the road !!!! :scared: How much more destructive does it have to become?

I know there are many more problems with SM, but I'm too tired to undertake that endeavor. That said, I find it more than troubling and disturbing. It's just one more antisocial element that we need to eliminate if we want to save our young people, our society, our world. I believe it's a serious matter. But then there's Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Fakebook. Pfssst... He's the antichrist as far as I'm concerned. Oh, that's right he's giving it all away. Yeah, right.
I'm sure I'm not gonna win the popular vote here, but I'm standing by it.

Technology is certainly both a blessing and a curse. Things are evolving rapidly, new ideas are constantly be implemented but while society wants to move forward there's always an attitude of we can do this...when sometimes it might be more appropriate to ask should we do this?

Toronto Catholic District School Board’s John Yan said the culprits were former students at the school who were trying to scare younger students. Only one was dressed as a clown, he noted.

They were apprehended by police and Yan said a letter was been sent home to parents (below) and appropriate measures are being taken.

It is not illegal to dress up in a clown costume,” Const. Jennifer Sidhu said. “It’s the actions that the person does or takes while dressed up in any costume that will lead to them possibly being charged if it is an infraction against the criminal code.” “We are aware of the incidents in the States, but as of now there is nothing on file of killer clowns in the city.”

“This is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers,” a flyer seen in Tucson read. “We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!"

Sure... they *say* it's going to be peaceful... then clowns from other areas show up and it goes downhill...

Detroit area clown encounters play into fears nationwide

George Hunter, The Detroit News 12:06 a.m. EDT October 6, 2016

Dynamo the Clown is used to making kids smile, not scream.

But after a recent wave of anti-clown hysteria swept Metro Detroit and the nation he said a group of teenagers freaked out Sunday when they saw him.

“I was on my way to a gig, and I had my outfit on,” said 52-year-old Detroit resident Michael Lackey, who has worked as a clown for 12 years. “Some teenage girls saw me and they started to panic. They were screaming and pointing at me, running away, completely terrified.

“I sometimes have had little kids get scared of me, but what’s happening now is something new.” ...

"There is something to the clown craze this year that does seem especially potent," CBC pop culture columnist Jesse Wente told CBC Toronto's radio show Metro Morning. "You can't help but think it represents something larger about our culture."
Wente said it may have something to do with fear as a political force during this U.S. election campaign.
Ian Brodie, a professor of folklore at Cape Breton University, said clown fear in general is another example of childhood pleasures made sinister, like stories of razor blades in apples or crystal meth that looks like candy.
"Whether or not that ever took place, the story seemed to make sense because we had shifted towards sensing that the world was a dangerous place," Brodie said.

Now we have CLM?

"The fascination with clowns is really that they're not real," criminologist Scott Bonn told Time. "We don't know what's beneath that makeup. It could be anyone or anything. They're actually very frightening."
So far the clown craze is not much more than ramped up tomfoolery because most of the frightening stories are made up or gags pulled off by teenagers.
"My gut reaction is that this is eventually going to burn out," Bonn said, adding that he doesn't "think it's going to lead to a clown killer."
At the moment, the only casualties of the latest bozo bashing are professional clowns who claim they're getting a bad rap. Now, a Clown Lives Matter movement has started on Facebook.
And far from being fiendish, clowns are frightened themselves.
"It's not a game anymore," clown Jordan Jones said. "Teenagers going around thinking it's funny. I think it's cruel. I think it's a sickness."

When clowns are outlawed only outlaws will be clowns. Boom. Done.
