SC - Columbia - Sheriff Slams Female Student to Floor In Class

I'm going on the assumption that she punched the officer first........sorry you missed the connection to this story.

Some of the videos show the former officer standing still talking and then walking calmly up to her desk. I think if she had hit him he would have been on her right after she struck him.
The only contact I have seen is when she grasps his arm as though trying to make him break contact with her, and of course this is while he has her by the neck and tipping her desk back. IMO

Imo Lott does not have a secret video. He had to fire an officer and only wants some sort of retribution for having to do so - he's using this student as his retribution.

He was unable to communicate accurate facts from the get-go.

I agree. He tries to come off as fair minded but you can tell he has resentment for having to fire his officer. IMO

[h=1]Student walkout backs fired deputy at S.C. school[/h]
The students walked out of classes at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, S.C., around 10 a.m. and gathered in the atrium to express their views on the firing of Deputy Ben Fields.

Some in the crowd — which included both black and white students — wore T-shirts reading "Free Fields" or "#BringBackFields."

KInd of heartwarming to see this. I know that many students are sick of disruptive, rude students who block their learning time. I am glad some of them have decided to stand up and be heard.

There was nothing legal about what that officer did and he should have been fired and he should be prosecuted IMO.
These kids might think he was an excellent RO but his past actions do not excuse his actions in this instance.
But I respect their right to protest. At least they are willing to stand up for something even if I don't agree with their reasoning.

Do they not realize it could have been them he attacked?

Or maybe for some reason they know they're the safe ones.

Hmmm.

bbm That's your opinion that he attacked, it's not mine. He responded to a teacher that needed assistant in removing an unruly student. jmo

Most people are not concerned about the violation of rights until they find their rights violated. They always think it will never happen to them because they don't do A, B and C.
They don't realize that eventually they will find it done to them for doing X, Y, and Z.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

It is not hard to know they would be safe. Before the 'attack' she defied requests by the teacher, then denied request by the administrator, and then defied the officer who attempted to arrest her. That is a long, slow process.

That seems to be a bit of a stretch here. She was a rude, disruptive student that was preventing the others from learning the math lesson. She was neither a socialist nor a Jew, as if it mattered.

What are you saying with the hmmmmm? Can you explain more clearly, as well as what you mean by the protesting kids know they are the "safe ones"?

Sometimes I really despair about society in general. *shaking head*
IMO

Those students standing up for Officer Fields gave me the first glimmer of hope I've had for this nation in a very long time.

Maybe they think they are safe and Officer Fields will never assault them.

"Hmmmm" is generally used to imply someone is thinking about something or finds it interesting.

It wouldn't have been them who was attacked, and they know it. An orderly, peaceful group who gathered for 10 minutes and then followed the principal's instructions that now it's time to return to class aren't the students who drive otherwise blemishless RO's to lose their cool. These are exactly the kind of students, IMHO, who are fed up with lack of order in the classroom during learning time.

She's new? And this is how she presents herself? She was not assaulted while the nation watched,we watched after the fact. Unless you have a link that we can watch these sorts of things live. And NO I have no respect for people like her so NO it would not bother me for her to be shunned. She is the cause of ALL of her problems, And that is my opinion. jmo idk

She is new to the school. Her mother just died. She was just placed in foster care and she was assaulted because she protested a school handbook policy.
Where was the respect granted to her prior to this incident?
