Identified! SC - Columbia, WhtFem 35-50, UP12594, schizophrenic, died in hospital, Feb'82 - Virginia Clyde Higgins Ray

i went to do some looking up on Oral Roberts to see if the woman had thought she was herself one of the daughters. Rebecca died in 1977 was 5 in 1945 (found this on the wiki couldn't find her actual birthday.) For Roberta I couldn't find her birthday, but she was the youngest. I thought I should note also that Ronald Roberts one of his sons had committed suicide in febuary of 1982 because he came out as gay and had an extremely bad drug addiction. his parents were forcing him to go to a drug treatment center.

I thought that this info might be important, but it's probably not.

She could also have meant "daughter of Oral Roberts" in a metaphoric sense, as being his spiritual offspring, rather than as a literal biological relationship.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/1772 lists one ruleout, Eva Debruhl. And we decided Bettina Antone was a ruleout because she had dentures and the deceased didn't.

There's also a better cleaned-up version of the admission photo: 27804.jpeg

I've been researching and thinking about her for months. I'm waiting for the coroner's office to email me back. I think that there is a small possibility that this Jane Doe is my husband's aunt that disappeared without a trace. She would have been 49 in 1982. I don't have any photo's of his aunt, and most people that knew her are dead now, but in my opinion, she looks a lot like my late father in law. I have DNA that they could compare it to. I'm so anxious about it.

So, let be back to the basics.

- Having good dental care is suggestive of at least upper-middle class.

- Looking closely at the admission photo, she is extremely thin. I don't think she was of normal weight. She got thinner by stopping her meds and not eating.
So, for me, she went missing a few days, at most a few month before she was admitted.
Years ? Not so much.

- Actually, some people with schizophrenia can function, but they are most likely diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. Source : my psychiatrist

- Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are not always as clear cut as it seems.
Our UID could had been diagnosed with either bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
I have never heard about schizoaffective disorder for cases in the '70s-'80s ! But take this sentence with a grain of salt, because I could be wrong.
However, diagnosis names and categories have evolved between now and the early '80s.
So, I would not write off a MP case stating "schizophrenia" when she is well functioning, especially in the '80s.

- She was born between the 30s and the 50s. And from what the detective said, she was not a local.
She could had been from another part of Southern US without being a local, if I am clear.

Do you think Andrea Coyle could be a match? She went missing in 1978. Her Doe Network page mentions that she had "past mental health issues."
The Doe Network: Case File 2495DFPA
By looking at the photos, I have a problem with the hair texture.

MP's hair are much thicker than our JD. Even if we account with lack of nutrition and medication side effects, the texture change doesn't add up.

Also, IUD's earlobe is much smaller than MP's.

The circumstances are a good fit, the stats are ok, but I think that it's not her.

The Doe Network: Case File 2811DFWI
Wisconsin, so Southern.
Known to have mental health problems & having been hospitalized.
Weight and height are certainely guesstimated by family, and she could have lost weight.
Also, NamUs & DN list her as "red hair", but on the coloured photo, it's more brown than red.

Wisconsin is in the US's northern tier, not southern at all.

Also, the UID died in February 1982 and Ms. Fischer didn't disappear until spring.

She does sound like the kind of person we're looking for, though. Mental/emotional issues and traveled around a lot.

and Ms. Fischer didn't disappear until spring.
Thank you for pointing out my glaring mistake. ____@ (flower with a keyboard)
How did I manage to make it ?

Not angry at all at you. I'm just flabbergasted about having made such a glaring mistake that I'm trying to understand how did I do it, for not doing it over and over while always expecting a different outcome.

So, I agree with you about the what ; having made a glaring mistake I shouldn't have made because it's ID 101.
But without the how it happened, the whole process, I consider that the issue is still not solved.
As my mom says, "the devil lies within the details" and I agree with her because she is right from the jump start !

Ok, but something is bugging me with Marcia's case.
Her DN page says :
Marcia was living with her brother in Madison, Wisconsin in the winter of 1981/1982. She went to Gilman, Wisconsin and was picked up by State Police.
Are we sure that DLC in Spring is accurate ? Seems to me guesstimated by family.
Could she had been missing earlier than spring ?

Florence Anne Coker – The Charley Project
Her husband said that she was depressed and had a drinking problem, but to be taken with a grain of salt.
She packed her make-up and $1000 when she went missing, but left the car and her checkbook.

Missing Person Case
Very limited info and no photo.
However, "may have a small scar on the forehead from the hand crank tool of an automobile sunroof. May have scars on the head from blunt trauma, believed to be struck in the head by hammer."
consistant with head injury, leading to mental health problems

3 rule-outs on namus:
MP17106 Sherry Jones 09/01/1972 Greenville , SC
MP50556 Phyllis Corbin 11/01/1963 St. Louis , MO
MP5556 Eva Debruhl 06/29/1977 York , SC
Also I wonder how they were able to determine it was an accidental fall rather than a suicide.
Elizabeth Ann Smith is a good possibility imo. Although her missing date is given as June 1982. The story states this is a pseudo date and the actual date is unknown. only 200 miles away too.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Elizabeth looks similar to JD but Liz had 2 tattoos and I'd assume if JD had someone they'd be noted but maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone know if that would be noted by hospital records in the 80s?

Could she be Margaret Mary Kilcoyne, missing since 01/26/1980 from Nantucket, Massachusetts (approx 17 hours apart)

5o years (if that's correct she would have been born in 1930), white, 5'0, 140 lbs, red hair, blue eyes. Kilcoyne was experiencing severe mental stress at the time of her disappearance and may have been suffering from an episode of depression or mania. I think the story surrounding her disappearance is a point of concern to be a match...but for sure she was very much confused.
