Fibers, hair - any trace of the killer(s). I think it was one person. I'm sure LE is looking at ex's of both girls.
I agree with this. I looked at the burning of the car as a way of "hiding" it or being unable to identify it very quickly (at least in the criminals mind). They will have a hard time pulling trace evidence or finger prints from it at this point but I've seen worse off cars (same sort of situation / murder) and lo-behold, they could pull a finger print. I'm not sure how the accelerator was used but if they didn't douse the roof of the car with it, their hand could have been placed there, thus leaving a palm or partial print.
Another thing, I think this is the work of an amateur. I also think it's the work of one person. This is someone they knew. I'm not familiar with the area or the logistic details of how far away each destination is; what I wonder is if either girl had cash on her. I'm reading this as a motive of robbery. Of course I'm not sleuthing here - I'm guessing and hypothetically speaking.
Please no one take this as me alluding to the girls being criminals or bad people, I am going to state something that might offend someone but I want everyone to know - by no means do I think the girls deserved it or "asked" for this to happen.
Does anyone know if the girls were known to buy drugs? I don't see hardcore drugs (if they did), I would see something like pot. If the person they picked up at McDonalds (it was late at night) was the hook-up and that person stated:
"I don't have it on me, can you drive me to his house (dealer)"
So they drive him in the direction he points to, and in the course of this drive he asks the driver to pull over & himself and the girl found last, was the girl he killed first. He could have asked her to join him outdoors for a number of reasons:
(nothing that would seem alarming because if it were, it's easy to believe that the driver would have called 911 while they were away from the car OR driven the car OR chased after them. They were close friends and she wouldn't have just let her friend go off and be murdered while she sat there in the car).
She most likely heard the gunshot, noticed the person (I'm assuming male) return to the car and she asked where her friend was. Maybe at this point he gets into the front seat (having already robbed/killed the 1st girl) and they go to another remote location) at this point he may have a gun to her head and she's forced against her will to drive to where she will be killed. After he murders her, he takes the car back 10 miles or possibly drives to it purchase what he will use to burn it. He takes it back to the general area where his last victim is, and douses it, lights it on fire and leaves.
Now, this is just a random scenario and this is thrown out there because something very similar happened to a girl my friend was dating. She was called and asked if she wanted to buy any pot. Her boyfriend and she agreed and apparently it was for a few hundred bucks. They went to pick this person up that had the connection to the dealer. He asked them to drive him to the dealers house. In route (supposedly - I dont' think there was any dealer of course).. he asked them to pull over so he could urinate. He was pretty far off into the wooded area. He then yelled for the boyfriend to come help because he dropped his phone and couldn't see it. The girlfriend stayed behind in the car. He then robbed the boyfriend for the cash (as he was the one carrying it) and shot him. The girlfriend comes running out of the car after hearing the gun shot and the killer then shots her in the head. He steals the car plus the money. Later they found the car torched (although no where near the scene). it was over 300.00.
By all accounts these were good people, young 20's who weren't heavy drug users or running with a bad crowd. Everyone loved them and sadly they trusted the wrong person. So this is why I'm throwing that scenario out in the wind, and showing how one person can manage to over throw and kill two people.
These victims were not sexually assaulted (thank the lord) so it seems that the only reason would be robbery as they weren't beaten or tortured (that's typically a sign of it being personal). Robbery is impersonal, a single gun shot.
No matter how it went down or why these beautiful women had their lives cut short, the question remains:
how did the killer manage to ditch the burning car and get away. Was he on foot? Or did he call on someone to pick him up from somewhere near by or worse yet, create an accomplice by having told that person he was going to commit this crime and later called on them to pick him up. The last part is bothering me as well.
I hope I did not offend anyone with this scenario, I just feel it was premeditated, a robbery and they were chosen because most likely - they were kind hearted and very trustworthy of those around them. If they had been raped, beaten etc I could see it as an ex or someone who disliked them for whatever reason. But if that was the case, it would take 2 people to subdue each girl. I also think if it were 2 men, and it was personal - they would have violated the women sexually to demean them.
I really feel this is one person.
