Thank you @PommyMommy. I was suspecting this was not going to end well, but reading it like this....What a sad state of affairs. I really hope this looser is going to tell what he did to her and where she is, for the sake of their son (he isn't worth named a father IMO) and other family members. Maybe there is more in the news outlet, but I don't have access to it due to privacy issues.

It is a day the Reid’s have been waiting for—hearing Emanuel Bedford is in custody.

”It put our mind not at ease that Deidre is nowhere to be found but Mr. Bedford is in custody,” he says.

They have more hope now that Bedford will lead investigators to Deidre. Right now—they say he is not giving them anything.

”I just hope Emmanuel tell us where she at whether it’s good or bad,” says Jennifer Reid, Deidre’s sister. “We just want to know where she at.”

The man charged in connection with the disappearance of a Pageland, South Carolina, mother will remain in jail because authorities are concerned he could be a flight risk.

Emanuel Bedford was denied bond in relation to the disappearance of Deidre Reid, who was last seen alive on Sept. 3.

The state prosecutors said they expected to enhance charges against Bedford next month when a grand jury hears the case.

Prosecutors made their case to keep Bedford in jail by saying he lied to officers about his whereabouts after leaving the bus station with Reid. Her family was in the courtroom sharing their extreme pain as they await answers in their loved one's disappearance.

Investigators said police believe that they found Reid's SUV submerged 11 miles from his Burke County home and said they are now processing it for DNA.

Pageland mom’s car found days after disappearance, state says; person of interest denied bond

In the hearing, Channel 9 learned Deidre Reid’s car was found in Aiken County, South Carolina.

During the hearing, the state said the car, that was found partially submerged in a pond, had blood inside it.

During the court hearing Thursday, prosecutors released new information, saying Bedford never got on a bus in Charlotte. They said on the afternoon Reid disappeared, he was spotted on surveillance video at a York County gas station, driving Reid’s car. She was not seen in that video. Then, two days later, investigators found her partially submerged car and are still processing the DNA evidence from the blood they found inside it.

This is the press release (found on the above link) we just received from the 4th Judicial Circuit. It does not indicate that Reid’s remains were ever found.

However, on Thursday, grand jurors returned an indictment against the Georgia man for the more serious offenses of murder and kidnapping.

Bedford, the father of Reid's youngest child, was heading back to his home in Augusta, Georgia at the time.

But authorities allege there's no evidence he ever boarded a bus that day.

On Sept. 5, 2021, investigators located Reid's gray 2004 Chevy Tahoe partially submerged in a pond just 11 miles from Bedford's home in Augusta, more than 130 miles away from Pageland.

The car's passenger seat was covered in blood.

Authorities allegedly recovered a portion of the Tahoe's bumper from land Bedford's family owns in Georgia's Burke County.

James Reid, Deidre's brother, told WSOC-TV he continues to pray that Bedford does the right thing and reveals where her body is so that the family can give her a proper burial.

Sounds like grandma was a prop brought in from a nursing home or somewhere to corroborate a story. Or wasn't even his grandma. MOO

Bedford has been charged with the kidnapping and murder of a South Carolina mother. 41-year-old Deidre Reid was reported missing from Pageland in September last year.

She was headed to the Greyhound station in Charlotte. Family members say Reid was taking Emmanuel Bedford, the father of her youngest child, to the bus station. They say he never got on the bus and Deidre’s body is still missing to this day. And today, the state shared new evidence that they hoped could strengthen the murder charge.

After months of waiting, prosecutors presented in court this morning the evidence they say they’ve been waiting for, which is that the pool of blood found inside Diedre Reid’s car is hers.
