I dont know what the circumstances are in regards to Faye's father but he hadn't seen her since Christmas and he was supposed to see her this weekend, my heart is broken.
Thank you for this post. I needed this more than you realize. I thought I was a helicopter Mom to my girls, but it is nothing compared to how I worry about the safety of my grandchildren. Perhaps I need to step back and let them be kids. As with everything, teach them the best we can how to be safe and cautious, but worry less and pray more.Kids are actually safer today than when you were a child. The only difference is that we are aware of the dangers now, and are more connected than we have ever been.
The perception doesn’t match the reality.
Here’s a summary from a few different articles, and a couple of those articles. It’s about 5 years old, but nothing has changed.
Contrary to popular belief, kids in America are way safer than they've been in decades

I like to think Faye is in heaven, playing with Jesshye Shockley, our beautiful butterfly princess. Fly high dear girls.
Actually, it even holds true for the 1950s. Kids are safer today. Linking just one of many things I found to support that. My parents were kids in the 50s and I have heard many stories. My mom was abused beyond belief and even neighbors with open windows didn’t help. Not that everything is perfect today, but in many ways it is safer.Maybe that holds true for those who were young in the 1980's, but when my generation grew up, in the 1950's, we were much safer.

I'll never understand things like this.
Never.

Today she should be celebrating with her class, Exchanging Vday cards, marveling over her cards & the sweet treats, looking forward to her daddy visiting. Instead she’s in a morgue.I dont know what the circumstances are in regards to Faye's father but he hadn't seen her since Christmas and he was supposed to see her this weekend, my heart is broken.

So it has to be a NAPA employee, right? Why else would they close the NAPA? Works there, opportunity by proximity, probably hangs out in those woods on breaks, maybe smokes/drinks in there, etc?
...or... they closed the NAPA because NAPA's security cams caught some of the crime?
...or... that was just during the initial search and NAPA has nothing to do with it...
CBS this morning covered her death but no new information - I’m so sorry for this outcome - why is the autopsy delayed I wonder ? (Saturday- link upthread)

I remember a post by one of her family members on social media hoping Faye would be back home before Valentine's day as that was one of her favorite days. She has passed away now but I imagine she will get many cards from her classmates, I'm sure she'll still be able to read them from up above. ❤Today she should be celebrating with her class, Exchanging Vday cards, marveling over her cards & the sweet treats, looking forward to her daddy visiting. As girly as she seemed to be, I bet she loved Valentine’s Day. The glitter, vibrant colors, all of it!I remember a post by one of her family members on social media hoping Faye would be back home before Valentine's day as that was one of her favorite days. I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen any “rumors” online about this persons identity! And believe me, I’ve been looking. My opinion: either police haven't had a chance to tell the man's family that he's passed away or they want to completely figure out what happened before they release his name to the media otherwise an innocent dead man might have his reputation tarnished forever. Its likely this man was the one responsible for Faye's death (considering the police repeatedly claiming the public is not in danger) but there would be a very small chance he might have been the victim of circumstance, with the real perp killing him as a frame job, it's possible I guess.
Your link explicitly shows that the homicide rate for children was more than double in 2005 than in 1950 - and more than quadruple for 1-4 year oldsActually, it even holds true for the 1950s. Mind is swirling with theories, questions; I know I'm not alone.
They said the investigation into the male deceased was just beginning. Which could mean that individual is not related to this case at all and was found by coincidence.
But the noticeable tone change and how they focused on Faye in the beginning before mentioning the male deceased (naturally, as it should be) - it's hard to think the male isn't related to this. Especially when they finally issued the "no threat to the community" line. They could have just been trying to get ahead of any rumors, but...![]()
He was named last night in this thread but I won't repeat it. The shocking thing was it being just a random neighbor. Those are the perpetrators that upset me the most, the ones that are the hardest to protect your children from. You're not the only one. I wonder if it's going to be a complete shocker.
