SC SC - Gordon Scott Brooks Found Stabbed to Death Behind Abandoned Shack in York County, July 1992

I’ve been searching for info on a 30 year old case that’s local to me and I knew the victim. I can’t find a single bit of info and I recall it well enough to know it wasn’t solved. I even knew the person who found the victim and he was questioned several times. I can’t find a list of unsolveds For York county SC or the entire state tho some counties have their own. I can’t link from this pad and WS doesn’t like that but in this situation I haven’t found anything to link if I could.
I’ve turned up 1 mention of the victim from his mothers obituary.

I don’t know what I can or can’t talk about since there seems to be absolutely nothing out there.

Scott was my brother, we were told that no charges were being filed because there was not enough evidence at the time to convict. I’m wondering if dna testing of evidence could be resubmitted , new technology could find something. I’m going to reach out to county sheriffs office

Thank you for joining in. Scott was a good guy and always fun to hang around with and I would love to see this resolved. I’ve just always thought the bar at Turkey Creek was a starting point. Please let us know and consider being an insider on this. I’ll look for my communication with the County from a couple of years back where they acted interested. Again, I’m sorry for yours, and the Bullocks Creek/Lockhart communities loss. I had many good times at the river with them.
