I know you may not be able to answer, but has anyone looked at the location history in her Google setting?

For those not familiar with Location history. This is what it looks like.

I have an android phone. Where would I find that info? TIA

Topcat: If you are on the computer:
  • Log in to Google
  • Click on the Account picture in the upper right hand corner
  • Select Account
  • Click on Data Tools on the right in the top menu
  • Select View Account Data
  • Scroll down and select View Location History

From phone you would have to use the browser as well.

Hope this helps.

Is that a Google+ thing, perhaps? I don't have "View Location History" available for any member of my family, and they all have smart phones with GPS.

My thoughts are that is the order of how things were done. The reason I feel this way is because it states arrived at car, went to TE, details about date, went to ptl, and so on.... If it didnt occur in this order, I think the info on the date would have been omitted there and included at the bottom or elsewhere. The report was entered at 11pm 12/19 and closed 4:50am 12/19, so that gives a very small window for all of the phone calls to have occurred after the fact. That is why I think they occurred during. If you think about it, police showed up around 7ish. Not sure when they arrived at PTL. But, I think it is more likely that he spoke to the date at this time, than between 11-4am. I have personal police reports here and looked at them from being a victim. They typically write them in the order things occur, as a reference. That is how they are taught to write them here. Maybe it is different in MB. So, I should say, that our local LE writes their police reports in order of how things occur. So, if it happened here, I would conclude the call came first before going to PTL.
the report writer omitted when he arrived on scene (first mistake), The rest of the info is a hodge podge of first and second hand accounts. At least that is my take on what originally became available. The time of arrival to TE's house was omitted..There is a preliminary report which is the who, what , when and where. Then the final compilation of info is put together in a cohesive, chronologically detailed report.

Thanx Moonlite. That bothers me because my current Google account is connected to my WORK email. I'll be changing that very quickly.

When you first posted, I did go back to Heather's Twitter and noticed a couple of her posts flagged a location. One of them was July at 4:30 and the location was her parent's house. Made me think she was living at home then. Not that it matters, but I was curious.

Do they have Android phones? It is a feature of Google+ but all gmail/google accounts created since Google+ was release automatically have Google+ profiles.

I know that this is a standard feature on the past few releases of Android phone, because you have to have a google account to use an Android phone. I do not know if this works on Windows, iPhones, etc. if you install the Google+ apps.

The report is all over the place, and specific times are missing. Other redacted portions have specific times.

I think between going to TE's house and leaving the landing (Terry said they were there an hour), that TE call BW and she told him Heather had gone on a date. So that tidbit was put there in the report. Then TE talked to the date after leaving the landing, and he then called LE and gave the date info, and it was put in at the same place in the report.

That's just moo and idea of how it could have been written.

You can always sign in to your phone/tablet with you personal Google account that way all the data is on your personal account, and then you can add another account to your gmail and/or email app on the phone. In that way you would be able to receive your work emails and get notifications while leaving all the location history, search history, etc. on your personal account.

Simple (possible) answer: LE had a hold back of information on the guy HE went out with that night.

Also, they could have held back other info that would cause the date to be suspect based on calls/texts, etc between HE and the wife/man. JMO
I mean...we now know there was communication hours after the last official publicly stated (a) ping of HE's phone and (b) last contact with anyone (roommate around 2am).

My guess: It was/is all part of the investigative process, not shoddy reporting, inerrant posters or bad work on the part of LE.

BBM...

I agree.

O/T Yes, they have Androids. I can have them check from their phones later. We have a very old Google Apps account (domain admin and all that), so that may be the difference. Thank you for mentioning this, as we have been using another app for tracking phones, and if this can work with our phones, that would be nice.

O/T That may be the issue. I don't think that is feature works with Google Apps account, which is different that a standard Google account.

I have been bothered by the story of the gloves for some time. After searching through a LOT of MSM in the first several threads and not finding any reference to the gloves, :banghead: I finally used the search feature here. Duh!

The very first mention of TE wearing gloves to drive the car home (that I could find) was a post made by luckyladee. I could not locate the original post (removed/deleted?); but, it is quoted several times. The first quote I found was in a response posted by Wondergirl. It is in Thread #2, Post #602 on 12/29. The text of the post is below. (includes a few more tidbits leading to other questions mentioned here recently)

The police took them to the scene and the family drove the car home. The police at A later time came and searched the vehicle, the parents knowing something wasnt right didnt search the car themselves and the father wore gloves to drive it . I think at the time the car was found the police nor the family believed she was necessarily missing! It wasnt until she didnt show up for her shift that they were convinced something was seriously wrong.. She was very committed to her job , and a work aholic.l

So, maybe it was not reported by MSM and this is where the story originated. Truth, fiction, belief, rumor?

http://www.wbtw.com/story/24565490/2-charged-with-interferring-in-case-of-heather-elvis

William Christopher Barrett, age 52, and Garrett Ryan Starnes, age 25, both of Myrtle Beach, are facing charges of obstructing justice.

From the article:

It was also discovered that in an effort to conduct a separate investigation from law enforcement, he began questioning a witness in an attempt to gain confidential information about the law enforcement investigation, police said.

In addition, he conducted an independent search, where potential evidence was uncovered and did not immediately report it to law enforcement, police said.

"Also during the investigation, (Garrett) Starnes fabricated misleading information regarding the disappearance of Heather Elvis and then relayed the false information to law enforcement," police said.

WTF is wrong with people? :banghead: This is how bad guys get off!
