I don't think national coverage will help with solve the HE case, but I do see where national coverage might help in general with all missing persons cases in that area.

There are clearly problems with the way LE handles missing persons cases in MB. I think that national coverage should focus on these shortcomings in order to put pressure on LE there to make changes in the way they operate. Do press conferences even exist down there??

I agree it's weird and yes they are older pics. It has been discussed here previously. IMO it is really stupid to not mention tattoos and use old pictures. If she were still alive, I worry that people who had seen the poster wouldn't even recognize her if they ran into her!

I've wondered about the choice of pics as well. Not being upfront about HE's life in the beginning was a bad move IMO. Some people I have spoken to said they felt mislead and fed a story about a sweet innocent girl that felt contrived and gave the impression that there was something to hide when the rest came to light.

I also wonder why they would use such sexualized pictures. If she is alive, that might be inviting unwanted attention.

ITA. This is a missing person's case, we don't need airbrushed headshots. The main picture they have been using reminds me of the photos that Hooters girls take. They're trying to keep a good girl image yet they used that?

I've discussed this with a few fellow WS'ers....the pictures in the media do not look like she does in the last picture of her driving.
It also says "slender build"..yes she's thin...but not what I picture in my mind as "skinny".
I look at my 20 year old daughters pictures and they are vastly different than they were at 18 and before.

Heather looks 12-15 in some of the pictures circulating. :(

I do think it's a shame thing with her parents. I'd totally remember that tattoo if I saw it, and if my daughters return home was based upon identifying factors and features, I'd throw every damn tattoo and piercing out in the public eye.

Have been watching this for a couple of days, interesting report yesterday in an area that we've been keeping an eye on...http://www.horrycounty.org/apps/CrimeAnalysis/view.html

seriously y'all. Take out the alarms, animal calls and leave in assault and robbery.

Be careful and aware when you are out and about, ESPECIALLY when you are on vacation or passing through and stopping to get gas somewhere.

:please:

MOO: This article is written by Jason M. Rodriguez. He has written at least 3 articles regarding the arrest of BB and GS. In this article he says:

"Elvis was last heard from around 3 a.m. Dec. 18, when she called a family member to talk about how a date she was on had gone well, her family said."

Everything I've heard up till now said HE only called BW (roommate) to talk about how the date went.

Again. MOO and I apologize if I can't quote the article but the link was posted above.

It has been a huge mistake not to show Heather's car, her tattoo or her recent pictures, IMO. It is making me depressed the way her case has been handled.

I think its just a mistake by the writer.
I mean...why should critical details be paid close attention to?

I wish they would show her current pictures, her vehicle, tattoos, everything they can.

Oh my! How on earth did the car straddle the ditch???

I know! My guess is that the back end probably fish tailed off the road like that & got stuck.

The potential evidence that was found or the potential evidence that was possibly fabricated?

I think that is real evidence. The fabrication I believe is some text messages.

Maybe some questions are answered but, regarding some others, here we go again.

The other day a portion of one of my comments was deleted on WS for being rumor and now here the subject is alluded to again in msm.

http://www.thestate.com/2014/01/29/3233679/two-arrested-for-providing-false.html

"Elvis was last heard from around 3 a.m. December 18, when she called a family member to talk about how a date she was on had gone well, her family said. bbm

This, but with specifics given, is what I remember reading over a month ago.
After a short time, the detail disappeared and morphed into something else.

Pretty sure it is routine carelessness we see in every case. I tried emailing the writer, will see if he replies.
Eta...email bounced back. He is not listed as working there, on their site, so I just tried anyway, making his name into an email like the ones listed...did not work.
