I still want to know why TE said Heather going into cosmetology was something that came out of the blue. It was definitely something she went to school for while in HS. So is it possible TE was maybe referring to Heather going into the graphic makeup / artistry for runway & print aspect? Cosmetology in HS normally covers the basic haircuts, hairstyles, and beauty (everyday makeup, manicures, pedicures, skin care, etc). I think Heather took it farther after HS, maybe bc "out of the blue" she decided she didn't wanna just do the normal local haircuttery & beauty?

Hard to believe that LE let him move the car once they could not locate HE.

Agree. This totally goes against all I ever knew (saw on TV...LOL) about how things should be handled. The minute I got behind the wheel and started to drive her car away, I would immediately know that this is not right to do this.

Like what if she comes back and is dropped off there and doesnt have a ride?

I dont think I would be able to drive her car home. I think I would insist on either leaving it there or LE taking it to process for finger prints, blood stains, etc.

The only way it makes sense to me is if he was talking about that particular job opportunity at whatever salon she was going to be working in came out of the blue.

It's puzzling.
TE stated the officer at his door was a friend. Maybe this played into things in some way?
I would think it would be the opposite and in taking extra precautions LE would have it processed just in case.

SharetheLight, we would all prolly have a different reaction if we located our 20 year old daughter's car parked/abandoned at at a familiar boat landing. Especially if we were unaware of the number of unsolved missing/murdered females/persons from the county..
The HCPD officer should have been aware of this issue and treated it accordingly, imo...
Time is critical in missing person's investigations...

Its a good point but one thing for sure is if I was in that situation I would definitely organize private volunteer search groups and look for her in those areas near the gravel pits, holding ponds, small creeks etc near the landing.

I would of course try to be sure to do things with LE blessing and make sure it is organized properly but I would let nothing stop me. If they said they would not recommend it, then I would just make sure I follow the letter of the law and make sure to get permission in writing from any business or landowner for any private land searched.

Just searching. No asking questions of potential witnesses or any of that business. Just searching for her. As far as I know, there should be no law that prevents that as it is similar to hiking and nobody should be able to stop people from looking for her if they want to. With permission from landowners of course which limits where we could look.

I would try to have weekly saturday searches at a minimum for as long as i was able. If the numbers dwindled down, I would go myself with just a few friends and family members.

And for that matter, I would probably end up buying my own search dog. Preferably trained in advance.
Yes, me too, all of the above. Also, if LE doesnt have time to help with this amount of searching, I would ask them to please do several pressers asking the people of the county to check their property and personal surveillance images for anything unusual.

Here's what concerns me:
In the space of one month, two young women are missing (AP age 32 Aynor and HE 20 of South Myrtle beach), another, AMB, is murdered (North MB) and a young man is missing for five months from Aynor). All of them within a half hours drive of the others.

IMO, there is a link and it will be uncovered.

Now this is interesting, since last night someone posted that Amber B, the murdered 23 yo, also went to the HGTC.

"Angela Pipkin went to Aynor High School and attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College" http://www.myhorrynews.com/news/crime/article_6cbe8460-89c7-11e3-b055-001a4bcf6878.html

That is interesting. Especially since this was in an article about Amber:

" She was found dead beneath a bridge that spans Green Village Road off Sand Ridge Road -– just a day after friends say she took her final exams at HGTC. "

So, could someone that also was at the school maybe saw Amber the day of the finals and followed her or something.

Whenever a whole bunch of people go missing and hardly any are solved, one thing that I always keep in back of mind is a possible rogue security type person or rogue LE person since they are authoritative figures that nobody suspects. There even was another case of someone dressing as a LE person to be able to approach vehicles.

Oh yeah, totally! Side on views in photographs are evil. It just never ends well, the side on view. Bleh.

Not only that but side views seem to add pounds bc of the different angle. & heaven forbid if the camera angle is facing up toward the subject's face bc it'll draw attention to a double chin, upper arms, neck, etc. I'm 5'5 & weigh 125-130 throughout the year. Last summer my husband took pics of me during our trip to Disney & I swear I don't look under 150. Please...not to be taken out of context. The pics he took of me facing forward look more like me re my size & weight. Plus, it's important to note that the design pattern of Heather's shirt could appear to add weight. She is smiling which would push her cheeks out more and enhance a double chin. Her date isn't a professional photographer which is why her closest arm looks larger than her left one. Her left arm is resting on the steering wheel which in turn makes her skin look pushed out. She's not wearing form fitting clothes so weight can't be judged. Still though, that picture looks entirely different than the pictures released of her, especially different than the ones on her FB page.

I supplied that in her thread weeks ago.

RE: antiquated silent investigative strategy by HCPD PIO

'Awareness is the key in missing/murdered persons investigations'.
If not for TE's eloquent and from the heart writing ability, as well as him owning a print shop. The folks in MB would still be in the dark as too the Myrtle Beach/Horry County, SC silent epidemic..imo

Lesson to perp/s; 'never ever abduct or harm the daughter of a parent that buys ink by the Barrel'...

I just thought of something... Did Heather go in the front door or the back door when she was taken home from her date?

The picture on the new poster is from 2010. Actually, there are 3 pictures of Heather from 2010 that have been shown to the public.

Kinda crazy ain't it? What's the logic? To show diversity? I always thought the most recent pics should go on a missing poster.

JG, I don't think that info has been released to my knowledge.

I don't buy at all that this is connected with other disappearances.

JMO but I still think this was someone she knew.

At first, I thought there was a big possibility it could be connected to other missing people. Then her coworkers & friends started their chatter, which I followed. Then the pr came out. Now I think her disappearance is most likely linked to somebody she knows, but there's still a small possibility this person(s) isn't responsible. Big question is if he's not involved then why lie about when he last saw/spoke with her & how many times?

You know speaking of roommates and such, it has peaked my curiosity about one of Heather's tweets to her friend on May 6th, concerning Heather's clothes and basically Heather was saying to this girl that Heather has so many clothes for her to help Heather get rid of them so when Heather comes to live with her, Heather won't fill up the entire living room full of clothes.Thing is, this tweet was for someone else, not current roommie, so was it in jest about them living together, or perhaps plans changed so that they did not live together, or did they live together for just a short while??

IMOO.

Probably been discussed before, but it seems like her twitter had a lot more tweets last time I looked at it.

There's another picture also used of Heather, where she looks even younger than the 2010 picture. She's wearing a gray shirt, and her hair is curly. She also has a strand of hair dyed blonde.

I think the family is doing the best they can, but they aren't experts on missing person cases, obviously. It might seem like common sense to include more recent photos, but maybe it isn't. I feel that compared to other cases, Terry realizes that his daughter might not be alive, so perhaps the pictures are being shown as more of a memorial, than in the hope that someone will spot Heather.

Another possibility is that maybe they think by showing younger pictures of Heather, the media will be more likely to take interest? They tend to care more when the victim is younger. The pictures from 2010 look to be professional, so maybe that has something to do with it too.

Vinny, neither do I, but it would be naive to conclude that none of the many unsolved missing/murdered persons in MB/HC, SC were possibly related, imo.
Silence is the predators most lethal weapon... An unusually high number of unsolved cases is an indicator of an active recidivist predator in HC/MB, SC, imo.

Stranger abductions/murders are always the most difficult for investigators to solve due to the lack of forensics/evidence, statistics, eyewitnesses, coupled with perceived hypothesis and linkage blindness by investigators.

I am a very strong believer that their is a spiritual connection to all acts of homicide. We all have our purpose. Imo, many times the innocent victims will lead investigators in the proper direction. Good triumphs evil...

One example of many;

Darlene Ewalt was dreaming of an upcoming trip to paradise when she was brutally murdered in her backyard. Was a serial killer just getting started?
