But something must have happened between 12/19 (the day the car was found) and 12/22 (the day mentioned in an article as the first harassment report was taken). We probably won't find out but I'm curious. If all accounts are true, something made TE start focusing on SM. We just don't know what.

My guess would be that once TE figured out who the phone number belonged to on his bill and saw that there was back and forth activity right before activity ceased altogether he focused on SM

If the M's felt harassed in December, IMO, then TE probably already knew what was what, and some of his closer friends may have known as well. If the police report had not "come out" I wonder if we would have any idea now about SM?

My first post...I hope I am not breaking any rules

I'm wondering what specific areas have been searched?
Also, not something we want to think about, but does anyone know if there has been a search of the area landfill or quarry?
I think the car was left at PTL to throw LE off track. <Mod Snip>
I really feel like this case will not have a positive outcome. Just my opinion, of course.

I've got a 20 year old and an 18 year old. Both daughters. I would move heaven and earth to find them if they were missing. I can guarantee you if they were, and had an affair with an older, married man and he happened to have the last known contact with her.... He would definitely be on my radar. JMOHO

IMO, this case reminds me of Kelsie Schelling, missing from Colorado. She went to meet her BF, disappeared, her car found parked in a Walmart lot. He is clearly a POI and has not been cooperating, she was eight weeks pregnant, not sure if he already knew that or she told him when she got there. Main difference, IMO, is that is was known she was going to meet him. She has been missing for more than a year now.

I can guess how TE must feel...but would you, in his situation, really think he (SM) would take pity and tell where Heather is, if he is indeed guilty? Or is the point of driving by his house, etc. more to intimidate? I guess I am not sure what TE gets out of it, or might expect (if he is in fact doing the things he has been accused of.)

If there was more than one person involved, there was another car.

Right, but then her car somehow got to the parking lot of St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, so somebody drove it from Walmart to the hospital.

I tend to agree with everyone who stated this but he knew about the phone records and who the calls were to/from by 12/19 or 12/20 at the latest. I suspect that something else occurred or he obtained additional information before 12/22 which escalated things IF things did escalate on 12/22.
**A report was filed but a report is proof of nothing. It is simply an allegation that a crime has occurred. To date, as far as I know, no charges were filed.

BBM

It's a given that I can't know TE feelings or motives. But, speaking for myself, trying to imagine how I might feel, I think it's more out of sheer desperation than anything else. How do you sit still? How do you not do something, anything, as long as your child is missing? I suppose different people handle things in different ways. I'm one who can't sit still if I feel something needs to be done. I would hope I would have the restraint not to interfere in such a way as to hinder an investigation, but emotion, love and panic can make one act impulsively.

I will add that I bolded in order for us to remember that no matter how flat you make a pancake, there are always two sides. TE is alleged to have done these things. He deserves that much, IMO.

It might just be that he's so desperate to find out the truth about what really happened to HE & has nothing else to go off of other than her last phone activity. He's probably grasping at straws... like we all pretty much are... and he's hoping that maybe, just maybe he'll see something suspicious... something out of the ordinary?

But that just has to be the worst feeling in the world... not knowing what to do or what to think or who to believe or where to start searching for answers. It breaks my heart.

I can only give you my opinion. IMO, they do not have a known crime scene. Furthermore, they coordinated with CUE because CUE is know to do a good job of finding people, finding bodies, etc without contaminating evidence, etc. Their only agenda is to find missing persons -- not glory, not vigilante justice -- just search & find.

IMO, LE knows much more than is publicly known. For example, we ALL now know that LE was aware of the "relationship" with SM, the late night phone calls with SM/TM, etc from the beginning. They also knew about the date, the photo of HE driving the stick shift and the exact times of contact, texts, calls, etc. Most of that information was a hold back, and justifiably so (RE: recent events of vigilante type actions). I'm sure there is more in their evidence bag, too.

I agree with you about LE knowing much more than what's been released.

A few things just donned on me. How long had HE and roomie been friends? If friends since the romance with OM started, then roomie would be able to answer many questions for LE and tell them more than OM would ever imagine! IMO - we know how BFF share.

Also, HE's phone pinged until 6:00 am per reports. At this time of day, the work world is beginning to stir with people out and about. Whether they are going to work -out or to work, or in their home getting up, one would have to use caution to not be seen. It is still dark outside so you would have to be familiar with the area (to hide a body).

I see this as foul play only. As 20 year olds, most of us thought we were grown up, knew all about life, and were invincible! Such a tragedy for all the lives this has torn apart.

ITA Quill! I went off on a tangent, deviating from your original post in what felt like a Eureka! type of moment for me. I'm sorry. I wasn't actually referencing the meaning of your post so much as the words within it if that makes any sense?

It's just that this case has boggled me and been so very ambiguous but seemingly obvious at the same time, that your wording perfectly summed up what I think every. Single. Party. to this whole affair has felt to insane levels of detriment.

No apologies necessary! I thought you raised a valid point. Once I really thought about it, I agree with you. No offense taken.

Here is another example of heather's phone/post showing 6:12 am and her actual post says it is 9:12 AM. So the twitter post ishow it as PST, too. https://twitter.com/HeatherElvis/status/351689736265547776

I'd venture she has a t-Mobile phone and never set the phone to reflect the time as EST. This was a big issue in another high profile case and it was figured out by seeing at the bottom of the paper bill that the default for T-Mobile showed the times in PST.

On July 1, 2013, HE was living with her family. That's scary when you click on location the exact coordinates come up. Peeps have pointed that out but when you do it yourself, it drives the point home.
I'm not sure everyone is aware they can turn the feature off.
About a year ago, on a morning show, someone explained the gps safety feature downfall that bad guys could take advantage of potentially.
Seeing it for oneself drives the point home. Often times when someone is talking fast, you sort of hear their message but can't visualize what they're explaining (especially if you don't use or have whatever it is they're talking about). Since I was on WS my ears perked up but still never had a clear picture of how spying was possible.

On another note, apparently HE was disappointed by one or more people on her birthday. She tweets a bunch about feeling let down and knowing who her friends are - along those lines. Makes me feel sad.

IMO, the roommate told TE everything regarding HE & SM. Initially, she may have held certain things back. But after Heather was missing for a few days, it got real in a hurry.

I don't advocate vigilante justice, but I certainly do understand how a parent of a missing child could be pushed to that point. IMO, TE isn't frivolous in his not-so-veiled accusations. He has a good idea what happened, but is having difficulty waiting for LE to take some action. Can you blame him?

I think things can quickly escalate in a case like this where stress is high, emotions are raw, strong personalities are involved, and justice is not forthcoming.

I hope this doesn't boil over and damage the investigation or prolong recovery of Heather.
