:welcome6:

That is such a generous offer! I know I don't have the time (or talent) to do such a thing but I believe a timeline has been hinted at. There is also something called "stickies" where important case information can be found, but after all this time, I really don't know what that's about. A mod would definitely help you out with how to go about it if you reach out to one. Imamaze is the "main mod" on here and Salem helps out as well. I think they'd be thrilled with your offer.

Thanks for joining us!

I want to second this post! I think that would be amazing! I am a visual person and would love to see that, but am also not talented to do that. Thanks for the offer.

It was updated 2/11 but I couldn't really find any updates, lol. I guess one would have to compare the articles side by side. Doesn't seem worth the trouble, does it?

I don't have the original article in front of me, but I could swear the previous one said she was designated a missing person sooner than the "couple days" listed here because it surprised me. But I also don't remember seeing details about the receipts in her car. Everything else was as I remembered from the original one.

I have never felt this really planned. I think she agreed to meet SM to talk, and they were caught. After that, who knows...

I think they are saying the next call she made was to BW. Maybe she received but did not answer texts between 10:43 and when she got home. Again...who knows...well, LE does, I think.

Still catching up but I want to get this out before I forget: Theory, somehow Heather agrees to meet someone @ PTL, she drives over, parks the car, sees a familiar vehicle, grabs her phone, keys and possibly purse, gets out and locks the car. Perhaps the familiar vehicle has tinted windows. When the door opens she sees it is an ambush. Perhaps there is a gun and she is told to get in.

This could have been a long- term plan just waiting for the right moment or a crime of opportunity...in that someone was either reading texts, hearing conversations, or stalking her and then followed her to PTL.

One more thought: I know LE says they don't believe this crime is connected to other missing or murdered women but what if the other victims got caught up with the same dynamics as Heather did with whoever she was with last.

None of that is in quotes, so that was all added by Michael Smith. They may have mentioned him earlier on, I really can't recall every single thing I have read, but I feel like every time I read something with his name, it is done by a journalist.

Look at it this way..it wasn't a journalist who mentioned his name in the police report and that report is really THE MOST important document.

Off topic but just had the thought that maybe they were planning some kind of Boston-style attack at the Myrtle Beach Marathon on Saturday!

This is really so frightening. Thank heavens they caught them. Wow.

When I first heard the mention of the US Marshals, and knowing what type of missing person cases they usually handle...I suspected sex trafficking, RSO, kidnapping or a fugitive. The last two being very unlikely.

No cause for Elvis’ disappearance has been totally ruled out, though some explanations are less likely than others. For instance, investigators don’t think human trafficking is tied to Elvis’ disappearance. They also don’t think she ran away.
Rhodes noted that Elvis’ social media posts seemed to abruptly cease shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 18.
"Most 20-year-olds who live by social media would've posted something by now," Rhodes said. “She lived by her cell phone and social media.”
Investigators don’t believe Elvis’ disappearance is connected to any other case.

Exactly my point, nothing has been ruled out. That is pretty much the exact same thing I posted earlier today. May not be likely, but nothing has been ruled out!!

Same could go for Stacey Peterson, Susan Powell and other missing women, I suppose-maybe Susan did run off to be with a man, and Stacey too, as their husbands told police? Maybe it can't be 100% ruled out, since they remain missing...but hardly likely, IMO. Maybe Lisa Stebic ran off too. I think Heather having run off is as likely. JMO

You look at it your way and I will look at it my way. The purpose of my comment was that every time he is mentioned in the press, including Sandra Rhodes or Lt Squirres, it is done by the journalists and not done in quotes. The police report was leaked. <Mod Snip>

I'm new here, but I've been following the Heather Elvis case (and threads related to her) since shortly after she went missing. As I've been reading through all the posts, I keep thinking a sort of "master post" that compiled information (relevant quotes with links) from LE, MSM and TE interviews would be extremely helpful. There are so many posts asking for a link to a specific quote or recalling something that was reported without remembering where or when.

It's something I'd be interested in doing in an effort to cut down on confusion regarding what we know and what's been said. But as I said, I'm new, so I have two questions: Is this allowed and does anyone else think this would be helpful?

Welcome!

I think your idea is great and bad at the same time.

I made a similar suggestion shortly after I joined WS.

It would be wonderful to have a fact sheet and a list of all the collective info we have BUT, wouldn't it be quite helpful to the perp as well? S(he) is still out there, no?

So, as much as I'd love to see something like that, it'd be just like handing a "cheat sheet" directly to the perp, IMO.

I realize that all of the info can still be found on these pages so, why make it any easier?

Possibly, but I think there is evidence in those cases, where here there isn't much that I know, IMO. I am not saying that I think she walked away. I just am not ruling it out. I am not ruling anything out.

Good thinking PTF. We probably already are as much as we go over and over things.
But I guess that's what happens when no new info is released, or not.

When I think about it, it wouldn't be that hard to make sure tourists are not aware of case. First, billboards probably cost an astronomical amount in the tourist areas, and are probably all booked for the season. Hotels probably already have a policy of not giving out fliers to guests. There might already be laws about businesses in the area not displaying fliers (I've never been there). And if those laws don't exist, then maybe MB is already blanketed in fliers advertising all sorts of things so Heather's won't stand out. And by the time summer comes around, the case will be a few months old, likely with little happening, and not much for the media to report on.

There aren't as many billboards with Heather's missing info on them as there were at the beginning, but there are still quite a few around the area. I think several businesses have donated their ad space to the Elvis family. And a large number of the billboards in our area are the changing electronic ones so there's almost an endless number of ad space available all over the area. I'm fairly certain the ad prices vary due to which road the billboards are on and how much traffic travels on it daily, the number of seconds the ad displays before changing to the next, the number of times a day it's displayed, and the actual times of day it's displayed (morning, rush hour, evening, etc.).

I still see fliers EVERYWHERE for Heather and we don't really have them posted up everywhere like you might see in a larger city. And in places where there are more than one or two fliers posted, there definitely aren't enough of them that it would keep you from noticing Heather's. I'm still seeing HE's missing flier in gas station windows, next to cash registers at all types of businesses, on speaker boxes at fast food places and on the glass and/or sliding window at others, retail stores, car windows, stop signs, light poles, EVERYWHERE.

...which is all excellent news I can share with y'all!! :)

Did they ever arrest the folks from the home invasion / car accident from that same night?

I would like to see the billboards and the flyer distribution continue on. The MB Marathon is tomorrow and the Canadians will be here (with their billfolds) very soon. In other words, tourist season is coming soon. I think LE is close to making a smart decision to name a POI and to finally give some answers to the public. The unsolved situation is not good for the MB tourist economy.
All MOO except what isn't.

O/T, they just announced they found the abandoned car of a young man, Nate Tallman, who is still missing up here in Colorado (since Jan 21). I feel Heather's case has warmed up my brain (car abandoned @ PTL) to take a look at Nate's case. The weather is supposed to be really nice this weekend, so I think I might take a little road trip and scope some things out. ( It's really quiet over there in Nate's thread, if anyone wants to join us there and lend a hand! Nate's thread:
