Sounds like there is some physical evidence in this case.

"SLED agents allowed News13 to visit part of the crime lab on Monday, February 10, and Lab Director Major Todd Hughey explained how the processing, analysis, and evaluation of evidence transpired.

"We have over 100 scientists, technicians, and support staff, collectively, that can bring resources to bear on a particular case," said Maj. Hughey. "Forensic science is not an 8:30 to 5:00 job. We work nights, weekends, holidays, whatever is necessary to get the job done."

Hughey acknowledged that sometimes cases are moved ahead of others, through a laboratory prioritization process, or as a favor to prosecutors and investigators.

"It's a continual process," said Hughey.

He did acknowledge that recently the crime lab prioritized evidence pertinent to the Heather Elvis disappearance case in Horry County."

This is especially true of the Deep South region where I live. The percentage of white vehicles here is probably higher than 26% here. It is also the preferred color of almost every local business as well as municipalities.

Hard to say what they could have; evidence includes things like phones, computers, etc...IMO, not specifically physical evidence as in "crime scene" but could also include items found at landing which may or may not be related (cigarette butts, cups) and pieces of clothing, etc. picked up on searches. It all has to be tested, but none of it may pertain to the case. JMO

BBM. This is reassuring. I hope they're able to link some of that evidence to someone other than Heather. Namely, a perp I hope!

Yep because White refects sunlight keeping the interior cooler. Darker colors have the opposite effect. I have always bought White autos since I moved here 24 years ago. But, my last two are Silver n what they call Cyber Gray.... Just wanted to go with different colors.

Also I always get a light color interior for the same reasons.

Thank you for posting this article. I was beginning to think there was no evidence found in Heather's case. Of course, this revelation only leads to more questions.... Where was evidence discovered, when, what is the lab testing? Was it found during the last search, was it recovered during a house search, and will it be able to link someone to Heather's disappearance?

The recent Feb 20 police report has interesting info in it. The "incident" appears to have occurred at TGIF and evidently OMM has a key and was able to run into the building and lock himself in until LE arrived, possibly where he's now working? And OMM was transported to the hospital by a medic, how was he injured?

Oh and how did OMM know the height of his "assailants", they were sitting in a truck?!?!

More info and a new report of SM being a victim of a shotgun pointed at him.

BBM

In the Myrtle Beach report, Moorer said he was in a parking lot in the 7500 block of North Kings Highway when two white males in a truck pulled up beside him and pointed what appeared to be a shotgun at him.

The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning, and was reported at 1:38 a.m.

The victim said he was able to run inside a nearby address, lock himself inside and wait for officers to arrive, the report said.

According to the report, the suspects were both white males, about 30, stood 5-8 to 5-9 and were in a white pickup truck.

How do you know how tall someone is when they are sitting inside of a truck???

At least there should be video of this alleged incident.

damn white truck, again.

"The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center."

taken to the medical center for what, i wonder.

Well, I would require some attention if a shotgun was pointed at me, but that is just me...I have never even seen one in real life...

Hope somehow LE can the validity of these two incidents.

If I were him, I wouldn't be sitting in a parking lot at one thirty in the morning.

Maybe he was taking the garbage out (if he was working, I don't know) or having a cigarette. Or maybe he was walking to his car or left the establishment take a phone call.

Appeared to be a shotgun?? You can identify exactly what type of gun fires at you while it is behind you traveling 60 or so mph but you cannot identify what type of object is pointing directly at you-but you can describe how tall a suspect "stands" while he is seated and can give good descriptions of both suspects yet cannot say for certain it was a shotgun.

LOL, I've been hunting wild hogs for years in the north ga mountains. Yes, some are carriers of hepatitis E, but can be tested to rule out for human consumption. Hogs don't sweat & need swamp land, rivers, ponds, etc., to survive, are very intelligent, can pick up a scent 6 miles away or 20+ feet in the ground. They are prolly the most effective of scavengers..

sniped for space

BBM my mom was actually telling me yesterday she heard they are smarter than dogs. Totally random conversation between she and I but I found that very hard to believe and interesting once I Googled it.

I understand that many hunters do keep shotguns in their vehicles (I've seen a lot of trucks with gun racks on the inside of their back glass), but it seems like it would be really hard to maneuver a shotgun around INSIDE a truck to point it at someone, especially if there were two occupants inside the truck. Seems like it would be easier to handle a pistol if a person was inside a vehicle. IMO.

I would give a guess as to someone's height based on them sitting in a car. It may be wrong, but I would certainly make a guess. Hopefully there are cameras in this area and they can catch the car. I also feel confident that they will catch the jeep, as that area had to have cameras as well.
