Yes. Then the bigger question looms, since she hasn't been found at PTL, how did she leave? By water or by vehicle.

Could this be known (how she left PTL) from video? It seems like they said the reason for the warrants and arrests were after closer examination of video by experts.

If she is in the water, I am doubtful if she will ever be found after the amount of time that has passed. The Waccamaw reverses flow direction with the tides and there are all kinds of snags and crannies both along the banks and in the water itself. We constantly have to watch for deadfalls floating in the water.

Plus, with all the rain we've had the past several months, the rivers are especially full of floating debris. If a particularly high tide (and there was a full moon when Heather disappeared) carried her into a swamp area and then receded, it would be so hard to find her. On centuries-old maps, this was part of an area called "The Impassable Swamp."

Amy Ahonen's remains were officially identified and announced yesterday; her remains were located in a creek after almost 3 years.

Can anyone easily find the video with the payphone and give me a link? I will be happy to email the reporter and ask him about it.

If not, I will do some searching later and see if I can find it.

Sorry, I am not sure where the video is. If you email the reporter maybe you could ask him why they had pictured the phone and also, did he have a verifiable LE source that a payphone was actually used by SM. This seems to be a 'rumor' that a lot of people seem to be curious about. I know I am.

That's what Scott Peterson thought after dumping his pregnant wife into the ocean. Not so,she and her baby were found 4 months later. I don't think that HE is in the water but if she is...she can still be found.

From my understand of other cases, it can take quite a long time for items to be processed. I beleive they had evidence from surveillance video that allowed them to charge with obstruction and IE. I don't remember if kidnapping came at same time or if that came at same time as the murder charges but my guess is that the vehicles as well as other items removed from the home are still being tested today. Don't these items have to be sent to a crime lab which are also handling many other cases? What I am thankful for is that they already have enough evidence to put those responsible behind bars and that they will continue to secure more evidence every day that items recovered are processed.

IIRC, the only one was to WDW for the marathon on January 16-January 19, 2014. Not sure when they left or returned home.

For some reason I had stuck in my head that they went out west. Time to clean out my memory bank!

When I asked my lady (I just rolled my eyes at myself). Yes...my recycling center lady about video she gave me the "stink eye", stressing that every center was under surveillance (in case I planned something nefarious for another location, I guess) because people liked to "dumpster dive", especially to steel metal they could turn into cash.

I told her in so many words why I'd asked and she seemed to relax... somewhat.

Clearly, our recycling center attendants need to attend a few more meetings, do some networking so they'll know what's really going on at their sister locations.

:gathering: :gathering:

Haha, I always ask people odd questions like this, lol

Infact, this reminds me of one of my posts from Terrilynn's which is very similar to the one you just made, and it involves me asking someone about steel metal too! Standby for link :)

Thanks for hittin the streets!

eta: here's the link,http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9257993&postcount=1050 discussing metal scrapyards (related to vehicles, but still, did SM use any of these types of facilities for work?)

The swamp terrain has made this a challenging case from the start, indeed. The way the searchers spoke about the conditions, critters and terrain of the swamp in Brittanee's case ("Disappeared") in unreal.

Another thing to consider is that the evidence they have is significant enough to charge. Meaning that we know HE and SM had a relationship. It's not a far stretch that her DNA would be in his vehicle or on his clothes and that there would be calls and or texts between them. He could go as far as to change his story to say they met that night and he left her after contact. Where I am going is that they must have significant evidence that will refute any argument SM has or could make in the future at trial. They know what happened and have evidence to support the charges.

I think they have much more than any if us think and we will just have to wait.

For those of you in the area searching for her. Thank you. I wish I could be there with you.

They did, but it was prior to the 18th. We are not sure of the exact date they arrived home--maybe the 16th?

I've given thought to this, myself, and I think South Carolina's bizarre weather after the last few months would only complicate matters further, as it resulted in a record number of downed limbs and trees on the roadways and in the water. :(

I will start with the most disturbing thing that I noticed. When I came past the M's home to the end of the road, I could only turn right, as the property was marked. I stopped for a couple minutes and looked around and looked out by the electric substation and within a minute saw 4 ponds. Directly across from their home. The ponds are on hundreds of acres of land. There were areas you could see trucks used to get to the substation and then the areas that look like paths for 4-wheelers or maybe dirt bikes. Also, with Heather's weight vs TM or SM, she could have been carried or even put onto a 4-wheeler. This is just my opinion but that stood out to me, like really stood out.

Or a GOLF CART?????

IIRC, they were initially arrested on Friday, Feb. 21 for the OOJ & IE charges. Tammy posted bond & Sidney didn't bother. She was held (in addition to Sidney) after she posted bond on Saturday, Feb. 22, pending additional charges. They were charged with kidnapping later that afternoon and both opted to forgo their bond hearings on the kidnapping charges because there was still another charge pending (& I can only assume they knew what the pending charge would be). And on Monday, Feb. 24, they were both charged with murder. A bond hearing for the murder charges was set for the 17th of March. Subsequently, TM was moved to Georgetown Detention Center on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

ETA: someone mentioned it takes approx. 48-72 to process DNA (I'll be honest--I have NO idea) but Monday would be right at or around 72 hours after the house was searched, so maybe that's why they were 'pending' up until that point.

Around 2:35 into it.

This is the 2nd video report that showed that payphone on Kings Highway that WMBF posted. The other time the payphone was used in a WMBF video was the video where they interviewed the relative of TM. On the video right before the 2:35 mark the reporter referenced the police report, and then the payphone was displayed as to imply that a payphone was in the police report. Is this the implication you all get when you view the video?
