Don't go there Steely :maddening:

You know I'm a Jersey Girl by birth and choice...although I consider South Carolina my home away from home. I tried NY but it just wasn't so awesome, dude, lol!

But seriously, I will use your info to get in touch with Brianna...thanks!

BBM

If that's referring to NJ then don't worry, I won't go there.

I will be in MB next weekend. As far as I know no one will be going with me. My health is not great, so if anyone wants to meet me up there, are anyone from Ga wants to ride with me, you're welcome. I am having a colonoscopy this Thurs. and next Thurs. having some kidney stones "busted up", so this weekend and early the next week is all the time I will have. Don't have any flyers made yet, that needs to be done tomorrow.
eta: Johnny's family is also planning on going sometime Fri also.

Miss James. I am praying for your brother and hoping he will be found very very soon. I loved hearing your voice on Tricia's radio show this last Sunday. Bless you and your family during this most trying time.

I don't think Miss James is related to Johnny. :waitasec:

I'm just a WS poster who lives south of Myrtle Beach . I have been staying in contact with Julie,Johnnys sister ,as several other posters have.

I know Julie greatly appreciates you thinking of her and her family . They plan to return on Friday to continue their search .

My son broke my computer yesterday so I'm on my phone and limited . I strongly expressed my concern about OLG going into thAt area. Even the manager of the motel discouraged the idea . As for the admin of the motel , let's just say this was not a motel 6 or Best Western .

Anyone in the area be on the lookout for A man with a golf type umbrella that is yellowish/orangish/white .it's overcast and rainy . A ws reader believes she may have seen Johnny with such an umbrella walking on a frontage Rd last Friday . At the the time he was near Old Town Pottery .

As for those who saw Johnny at the flea market , a man in a food booth said he mumbled . The other person who spoke to him said he just shook his head .
OLG , my dr. Confirmed your diagnosis , yesterday : (

Bold is mine..

Rest, girl.. I hope the meds kick in quick and you start feeling better soon! :blowkiss:

Kimster pointed out this post to me today. If you can let Johnny's family know I'd appreciate it.

Also to nosyone:

I specifically asked the PI if he still checked for activity on his SS# and he said yes and there has been none.

As an aside, I want to let you all know something I did not know about NamUs. Basically NamUs takes all the information about the missing person and tries to match it up with unidentified found people (remains.) But the counsellor assigned to Kevin's case also told me there are more and more mental health professionals using Namus, meaning if someone presented somewhere without an identity and was psychotic or something, they can use NamUs to identify the person. Specifically I thought this might be good advice for the family of the missing man Johnnie from this week's web radio show.

Just received a wonderful message from the WS reader , soon to be poster, who saw Johnny walking with the umbrella last Friday .

I will let her share the details , but basically , the police are continuing to follow up in that area and check places frequently . She has been looking , herself, and informing local businesses about Johnny .
Thank you so much ! Look forward to hearing more .

Another poster asked me to pop in over here. I too have a ton of contacts in the SE region, SC GA and NC. His flyer needs to go up at every convenience store surrounding the radius between home and MB. Also, the little tourist places and restaurants like those along 17- sweetgrass basket places, tee shirt shops, fast food restaurants, bbq places, the convention center- everything.
I will print some up and get them out there via folks I know in the area. This weekend (being Labor Day weekend) will have a lot of people coming into the area that hopefully will see a flyer and pay attention.

Man. I hope the weather calms down for awhile. He must be terrified. :(

I would first like to thank Chico for putting up with all of my e-mails in order for me to get my info to Miss James and others. Glad to be here and I hope to be of some help.

I saw a man last Friday morning walking on the frontage road in Surfside between Denny's and the Jiffy Lube. It was pouring rain, there was a guy riding my bumper, but the man's shirt made me take a look at him. It was identical to the one I'd seen in the picture here. I also noticed that he looked to have on tightish jeans with a sideways kind of lightening bolt on the pockets. the jeans looked too long for him. He had on a cap (which at the time I was unaware that JB might have a cap with him) and was carrying an orange, yellow? and white striped golf umbrella. I read about the cap when I got home and decided to make the call to his sister. She said he HAD been spotted wearing jeans by others. I was just sick about not stopping.

I drive the entire length of the frontage road from 544 to the flea market every day, have been putting up flyers in the woods where I know there are homeless people living, e-mailed everyone I know in the Surfside area the flyer and asked them to do the same, and I sit for awhile each day near the spot where I saw him to see if he'll go by again.

Today, I spoke with the Jiffy Lube guys and they are keeping an eye out for Johnny. They told me that the police stop by at least twice a day to see if they've seen anything. He also told me that there is a homeless camp right behind the now defunct Taco Bell next door and that police have interviewed one man that has lived out there for a long time.

I called Monica Caison at CUE today and told her about Johnny. I then called Julieanne and told her that she needed to fill out a report with CUE and they would get feet on the ground ASAP. Monica was here on Monday, but knew nothing of the case at that point.

I have also contacted a friend of mine that works for one of the TV stations and was given the name of who I needed to e-mail there. I did that, thinking that with CUE coming and the family arriving on Friday, they may want to re-energize this story.

I have stopped into several businesses in Surfside to remind them about Johnny and to mention that he might have jeans on now. I have friends and family doing the same. The jeans are what threw me off and I don't want anyone else to feel the guilt that I do right now.

I am also checking around to see if I can get some space donated for a headquarters of some kind. So far I haven't had much luck.

Julieanne has my number and I told her to call me when she's here if she needs anything.

Be forewarned that technology and I are not great friends. I am in the tiny minority of people who refuse to even get a cell phone ( much to my family's dismay). So please bear with me and forgive me if I make any mistakes. One Lost Girl can attest to that as I believe she has numerous messages of my on her voice mail!

Sorry this is so long, but I've been holding this all in until I could get registered (apparently my e-mail addy was not the right kind?)

You ae a wonderful group and I'm amazed by how much WS members have gotten done here already! I see your flyers everywhere!

Hi Peekerfoo, and welcome. So glad to have you as a WS member now. thank you for all this good info. When you spoke to Julie and told her about CUE, did she sound like she plans on getting in touch with them? I live in the same town where Johnny is from, Cartersville, Ga, and may be able to help her with that. Can you tell me how to get in touch with CUE, and I'll try. Thanks again.

I'm not positive, but I believe Monica may have been calling Julianne while she was speaking with me. She got a call and said it was someone from a missing person's group. I'm hoping that it was CUE. She also mentioned that she was having computer issues, so I gave her Monica's number. Monica also has all of Julianne's information.

I could tell that Julieanne was a little sad today because there haven't been any recent sightings of Johnny. I am hoping that CUE might bolster her spirits.

I plan to stop at a few local restaurants tomorrow and see if I can get some gift certificates for food for the family while they're here. I also have a coupon book for lots of Buy one-Get one free meals that they can have.

It was heartwarming to hear that people were actively looking for Johnny at Surfside businesses and I passed that on to his sister also. I know that she appreciates all the help and support she gets from everyone here at WS, too!

:welcome::yourock::goodpost: peekerfoo!!!

I am soooo glad you're here and your post made me feel so hopeful...I'm glad the police are actively following up and all the great things you have done, and continue to do, make me confident that it is just a matter of time, hopefully a short time, until we hear the news we're all waiting for. Also, good news that you're seeing the posters everywhere.

I spoke with some more people, including people at Community Kitchen, today, and left some flyers. Everyone I've been speaking to seems to really take the time to listen which is gratifying. I was afraid people would kind of blow it off but, on the contrary, they generally seem very concerned and the great thing is that with a few exceptions, they remember hearing about the case and/or seeing the flyers.

So glad that CUE is on the case as well. I truly believe we will get a positive outcome- something we don't get enough of at WS, unfortunately.

Thanks for the warm welcome! It's an honor to be here.

I truly believe that CUE might be able to find JB if he is still in the Surfside area. Surfside is not that big (about a mile long), but I was actually shocked by the amount of woods we have here! I guess I never noticed them as much until it came to looking for someone. I also just found out that Surfside has coyotes roaming the streets which shocked me even more!

Do you, or does anyone else know, if Johnny can read? I forgot to ask his sister. I know this sounds far-fetched, but I wonder if he reads the signs to Georgetown and thinks it's the same as Georgia?

I pray that he stays in Surfside because it's so small, albeit woodsy.

Wow!! Peekerfoo! Thank you so much for this information! All of you who have been helping, searching and even us who have been praying from afar, you are all amazing! We will find him, I am in awe of this group of sleuthers! Let's find him!!!!:rocker:

I am so glad that you are getting the word out in Myrtle Beach! If he has (or does) head there then at least we'll have a headstart. Plus, so many people from Myrtle Beach travel through Surfside to dine in Murrells Inlet.

No, YOU and everyone else who have been doing so much leg work are the amazing blessings! You know what's sad, Miss James? I never even knew Johnny was missing until I read it here. I smile when I see the flyers in the windows of the stores here because I know who put them there. I only go back and remind people that Johnny is still missing and that he's wearing JEANS.

I hope we hear of another sighting soon because it makes me nervous that we haven't. Still, I have faith that he will be found.
