Parkers has more than enough money to do the right thing here and settle with the Beach family. They may well get a change of venue, but it isn't going to change the outcome of the trial.

They do hold some responsibility for the crash by supplying alcohol to an underage person, not solely, but in concert with the rest of the circumstances.

Plus the way they have played such dirty tactics and prolonging the pain and suffering of the Beach family is going to come back and bite them on the rear. Mallory was a totally innocent victim and shouldn't be dead, that is going to carry a lot of weight with the jury.

I wonder if the Beach family would accept a settlement if one was offered?

Given they settled with all other plaintiffs except for A. Murdaugh and Parker, I'd say yes.

I believe they would. I'm sure it's been a long and painful road for them, and going through a full blown trial with photos, etc. would be so hard emotionally.

Let me be clear, I don't think it's about money to them, I do think it's about making the guilty parties take some accountability. No matter what the outcome, they will never have their sweet, beautiful daughter back. I can't imagine their loss.

Mallory Beach wrongful death trial: Hampton County preps for influx of media, visitors

7.11.2023

Unless a South Carolina circuit court judge grants a recent motion to change venue, small, rural Hampton County is about to play host to the next internationally followed, highly publicized trial in the Alex Murdaugh legal saga, and all of the logistical and financial challenges that will come with it.

The Beach family wrongful death suit is currently scheduled to begin Aug. 14 in Hampton County Court of Common Pleas and is expected to last at least two weeks, with Judge Daniel D. Hall presiding. It is a civil case four years in the making that helped expose the Murdaugh scandals and may nearly rival convicted murderer and confessed fraudster Murdaugh's murder trial of the spring in terms of impact and media attention.

Excellent reporting from @IndyJenn_ on the very latest legal maneuvering in the high-profile #MurdaughMurders civil case - the wrongful death case filed by the family of the late Mallory Beach.

7.11.2023

With a trial date in a high-profile wrongful death case tied to the ‘Murdaugh Murders‘ crime and corruption saga rapidly approaching, a motion to move the case out of Hampton County, South Carolina was filed last Friday (July 7, 2023) by attorneys for wealthy Savannah, Georgia convenience store magnate Greg Parker.

Parker’s attorneys requested the venue be changed out of the fourteenth judicial circuit entirely, arguing their client would be unable to receive a fair trial in the heart of the Murdaughs’ former fiefdom.

“If anyone in this judicial circuit hadn’t heard of the Murdaughs before – something this court already doubted months ago – they almost certainly have now, and those ingrained views ensure that Parker’s will not receive a fair trial here,” the attorneys argued.

News of the change of venue motion was first reported by Michael DeWitt of the Gannett-owned Hampton County Guardian .
