Retailers like Greg Parker of Parker's Kitchen have HUSTLED state legislators for years to pass a bill to decrease their liability in cases like Mallory Beach's ... looks like we're about to see which lawmakers are peeking out of the fancy pockets they're in. If a kid is sold alcohol by a retailer and plows into YOUR kid while drunkenly operating a vehicle, something tells me you'd be upset to find out that the BUSINESS who sold the alcohol just gets to shrug it off and do it again ...

One of the defendants in the boat crash case was Greg Parker of Parker's Convenience Store chain. Parker's is where Paul Murdaugh illegally purchased alcohol earlier that evening. The lawsuit was CONTENTIOUS (and at the root of Alex Murdaugh's decision to murder his wife Maggie and their son Paul) ...




The case also resulted in intense, prolonged and seemingly coordinated social media bullying and counter messaging from (mostly) unknown sources ...



In 2021 (after the murders when the entire world was watching the South Carolina Lowcountry), a documentary company produced a trailer for a planned series on the Murdaugh family. In that trailer they used confidential court materials related to the boat crash case (including a photo of Mallory Beach's dead body on the day she was finally found in a Beaufort tidal creek) ...

There were 2 issues there for the Beach family: 1. Some of the materials in the video came from confidential files related to the mediation in the boat crash case and 2. Their release seemed to be connected to the ongoing social media bullying and seemingly coordinated campaign online to weaken the Beach family's resolve in pursuing the case ...



So in 2021, Mark Tinsley filed the "civil conspiracy" lawsuit against Greg Parker and a bevy of alleged co-conspirators. The lawsuit accuses Parker of using his significant resources to attack and harass the Beach family to get them to back off the lawsuit — in part, by allegedly leaking these confidential materials ...

Parker's Kitchen ultimately settled with the boat crash victims for $15 million last fall. But the civil conspiracy case continues and — not shockingly — has been even more contentious than the original case it stemmed from. Greg Parker denies all allegations.

Judge makes ruling on Mallory Beach case

A judge has ruled on several long standing motions in a lawsuit between the family of Mallory Beach and Parkers Corporation.

This case, surrounding the allegations that Parker’s tried to get the Beach’s to drop their other lawsuit, has been tied up in courts for years.

Now though, a trial is set for the week of May 4th, 2026.

The following Scheduling Order is hereby established in this case:

1. All discovery shall be completed by November 1st, 2025

2. Mediation shall be conducted no later than December 31st, 2025

3. If Mediation is not successful, all Pre-Trial matters shall be filed by February 28th, 2026

4. All Pre-Trial matters shall be heard on the week April 6th, 2026

5. This case shall be set for a date certain Trial on the week of May 4th, 2026

Wondering when this trial will really get started. As we have seen, dates can be changed, but it is indeed time for a trial. Justice is indeed important.
I've followed quite a lot of this Murdaugh ordeal. Money can't always fix everything...
Re the litigation and upcoming probable trial, let's hope it may indeed take place next year (next year!!) when scheduled. SMH.

For the casual thread viewer, I think it important to note that the subject case being litigated is not the wrongful death lawsuit against Parker, Murdaugh, et., al. that was long ago settled by the parties for $15 Million and where Parker was ordered to carry the freight for himself and co-defendant.

This pending trial involves allegations by Beach that Parkers intentionally intimidated their family to try and get them to drop the initial case. It's a separate action (civil conspiracy) against Parker, Parker Corp, and their Private Investigators.
