It was early 2020 and the Kansas City Chiefs were preparing to play their first Super Bowl in 50 years.

But Michael Montijo — a die-hard Chiefs fan — wouldn’t be there to see it.

The 55-year-old went missing from his Ridgeville, South Carolina, home on Sunday, January 26, 2020 — just one week before the big game.

More at Michael Montijo left his Ridgeville, South Carolina, home on January 26, 2020, and family hasn’t heard from him since

It's cold in January. If he was having seizures and hallucinations due to stopping drinking, he could have wandered off and frozen to death. Just a theory.

Sad.. In the article linked above, Montijo is wearing a US Navy Chief's uniform, with a lot of awards. It is unfortunate that his alcoholism progressed to such an awful extent. Sometimes the VA can help veterans with these problems, but in some locales there aren't enough resources.
