Missing Woman Hasn't Been Seen in Weeks

Saluda County deputies are searching for a woman who's been missing for several weeks.

Workers found a body at a Tri-County trash facility in Edgefield County. They believe it came from a dumpster at an elementary school in Saluda County.

Now, Aiken, Edgefield, Saluda and Newberry counties are all waiting to see if the body found at the dump is one of their missing women.

"Several folks around us have missing folks. Clinton called me the other day.. Clinton PD," said Cockrell. Chief Deputy Chris Cockrell says Saluda County has one missing woman, Nancy Caughman Lott.

Body Found in Edgefield County Identified as Missing Woman

The Saluda County Sheriff's Office is working with SLED and forming a task force to process the evidence and identify who may be responsible for Lott's death.

December 2016:

A six-month murder investigation has finally led to an arrest in connection with the body of a missing woman recovered in an Edgefield County landfill.

Kincaid Bobby Mitchell, 46, of Ridge Spring, is charged with the murder of Nancy Caughman Lott, according to the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office.
