'We will not stop': Search continues for missing Sumter 5-year-old
[...]

"There is a God and we will not stop searching," TS said, as she searched the neighborhood surrounding the apartment complex Friday.

She joined a group of at least six people continuing to search the neighborhood for Adams.

"I started yesterday," TS says. "I have kids and it hurts me. I pray to God that we find her, I pray."

SS was among Friday's group.

"I don't want to find her, but I do," SS said. "It's going to like hurt me to see her, if I find her."

Mother of St. Louis homicide victim speaks out. Not intending to take away from Neveah, but this article gives some more background on DJ.

Mother of St. Louis homicide victim says accused Sumter killer is responsible

Beverly Hill said her daughter was friends with Daunte Johnson, 28, after meeting him through a mutual friend in St. Louis in March. In the early morning hours of June 23, Hill said her daughter was at an apartment with Johnson and a few other people.

“The guy who’s apartment it is, it was his gun Daunte was playing with,” Hill said. “He was intoxicated, high on something and the kid who’s gun it was should have taken it away from him.”

Instead, Hill said Johnson shot her daughter in the head and fled, along with others inside at the time. St. Louis Police declared Aaliyah Stanley dead at the scene a short time later. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, according to her mother.

Hill alleged Johnson stole her daughter’s car after the shooting. About a month ago, she said she received a call from St. Louis law enforcement stating they tracked the stolen car to South Carolina.

So sad. I feel so bad for the thirteen year old son. Such a huge loss for all of them.

This innocent until proven guilty 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 may be lying. What if he has trafficked this poor baby so he's misdirected LE? What if he really doesn't want her little body found because of the things he's already done to her besides murder so he's misdirected LE? It's hard to take the word of a person suspected in two definite and at least one more suspected murders. I wouldn't.

What is puzzling me is why move nevaeh's body from where he killed her?
The only reason apart from her still being alive is, he could be trying to hide what he has done to her.
For example if he had sexually abused nevaeh before killing her he might be trying to hide the evidence of that. I'm sure he would know child abusers get more hell in prison than people who kill children. He maybe doesn't want to be known as a paedophile.
That is what I think happened to nevaeh. I just don't understand why he would have to kill her otherwise.

Johnson was later found in the neighboring area and taken into custody by the Sumter Police Department. After questioning, he admitted to killing both Bradley and her daughter, reportedly disposing of the child’s body in a city dumpster, according to a report by WIS News.

“Finding this little girl is first and foremost and we have and will continue to use every resource available to make that happen,” Chief Russell Roark said in an official statement. “Our prayers are with the family and we will continue to assist them throughout this tragic ordeal.”

Missing South Carolina Child Update: Police Shift From Missing Person To Recovery Effort

New information about missing 5-year-old Nevaeh Lashy Adams has prompted police in Sumter, South Carolina, to move from a missing person search to a recovery effort. ...

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office determined that Bradley had been dead for several hours before her family discovered her body. Based on current information, authorities believe Adams was killed around the same time. ...

If I was to guess, I am thinking that some of the blood evidence, at the scene of where the mother was found,
came back to Nevaeh. And there was probably a lot of it to move to this sort of status....IMO.

BBM Possibly because she was a witness to her mother's murder and could identify him. MOO

Search continues for Sumter 5-year-old, six days later
[...]

Community volunteers say they're going to keep looking in Sumter, with many hoping to see the search extend beyond state lines.

"It's been proven that people can be kidnapped and held in captivity or chained up in a room somewhere and years later they break free and we find out about it," SB said. "I believe that's what's bothering the family, that they know someone has her. They haven't given us a body, so there's no telling where she is."

I don't blame the family. I hope they found enough blood to prove she's dead or that they find her body.
