What did Harpootlian take out of his hands? Interesting interaction between #AlexMurdaugh attorney Dick Harpootlian and atty representing boat crash victim inside the courtroom. (Note: I edited the video to show the interaction as the camera switched between witness & gallery)

I was wondering this as well......
If Moselle and AM's mother's home aren't that far apart they may use the same cell phone tower -- especially since it's a rural area and likely not that many towers. I think someone posted about the distance but I don't recall that exactly.
ETA: They look to be about 12-13 miles away from each other on the map.

I can't wait for the behavioral panel guys to assess this video!
I hope it’s as comical as the ‘expert’ witnesses for Amber Heard were.

Here, I think GPS location tracking would be more valuable than tower pings. The problem in rural areas, some phones/carriers are GPS assist (AGPS data transmission) which impacts reporting location coordinates in "real-time." MOO

Does AM have some sort of ‘out of sight-out of mind’ notion that he isn’t going to look like a prisoner if he covers up his cuffs??

I think his constant attention to personal vanity and self are ill advised. I don’t think I’d bother to show up let alone comb my hair.

A South Carolina judge on Tuesday approved a settlement agreement between members of the Murdaugh family and victims of a deadly 2019 boat crash on the Murdaughs' boat.

Thanks for looking that up. If she is a possible witness, usually they are not permitted in court until after they testify and are discharged.
True -- however, until the jury is seated and sworn in, the trial conditions generally do not begin.

Also, I'm sure DH has already acted on being certain to excuse the immediate family witnesses from having to wait outside the courtroom. MOO

I don't know if they have GPS data for his phone or car. GPS could have been deactivated on his phone. JMO.

There was mention of him possibly having a digital smartwatch on too but I don’t know if that was ever fact or not.

This move is a vanity backfire. It’s emphasizing his ego and vain self.

What I've learned because of the WS community is that turning off your location service on your mobile can help conceal your location but it's likely the apps on your phone will give your location away.

I don't imagine AM owns a vehicle older than my own cell phone so his telematics should also prove helpful to the state. MOO

Re: the 'alibi'

It's only a partial alibi as prosecutors now state the murders occurred "between 8:30 p.m. and 10:06 p.m" and AM admits being there between 8:30 and 9ish.

I assume prosecution will challenge the autopsy time of death, as being based on AM's statements, rather than medical proofs.

OMO, but I thought Agent Greer did a fantastic job today — he didn’t let JG get him confused, he wasn’t shy about asking for time to review his notes, his tone was even, he remained patient and professional, etc.

I think we got a foretaste of how JG plans to handle state witnesses — try to discredit them — get them flustered and confused so they contradict themselves or sound illogical. IMHO, JG came off as not understanding the forensics around ballistics. Hope he is just as befuddled in the trial.

I think it was JG who indicated today in this interchange with Agent Greer that Paul’s rifle had been stolen (the gun we think LE has been trying to locate all these past months?) Defense may want to say it was stolen but how much you want to bet there is no report to LE when it went missing?

<defense mentions stolen gun> Alex Murdaugh murder trial: Judge rules crucial ballistics evidence is admissible.

Thanks much for this post! I'm afraid I was only listening to the motions hearing today and mistakenly assumed it was defense attorney DH at the helm today so I stand corrected in my earlier posts that Judge Judge Newman ruled that not only was Greer to be considered an expert witness and the science he used credible, he was going to allow the ballistics evidence and testimony to be used in evidence, over JG's theatrics, and not DH.

This is an hour preview to the Sunday special that is audio only. It's very shocking to me to hear from the mouths of these reporters that have lived/worked in this area that the corruption and power stories are all true and that the community does fear the powerful family. Unbelievable...

ETA: My first clue should have been defense requested no change in venue!

That was a good discussion. It was interesting to hear about how the locals think about the Murdaughs. And I didn't know about the Buster/Stephen Smith speculation, though I'm sure people here already do.

I have this queued up to wear DH is arguing AM can have no motive, and AM gets very expressive there. Right after this is where the judge says they are making jury arguments.
