I really hope that Waters didn’t blow it out if the water today since Will answered no. Not sure why they assumed he knew any of that but they interview witnesses prior to trial. ODD him asking questions he didn’t know the answer to? Scares me.
IMO even thought the answers were going to be NO.
It was about -the questions- bringing in vital facts about AM’s finances crashing around him/possible motive for the jury to hear.
Prosecution had a stellar day.

The ignore and hope it blows by isn’t going to work for that video that will hang over the room like the ceiling.
Right !!
They played it multiple times today and I was glad they did.
The more the Jury hears it, the more they know AM WAS THERE !!!

Then having 2 of Paul's friends say 100% it is AM's voice
That was perfect !!!
I hope they keep playing it to remind Jury he was there when they were murdered.

I can't see much in the court room but do they have photos of Maggie and Paul up on those easels, or anywhere ??
I would have their photos, their faces up in front where the jury and AM can see them all day long.

Where is the defense going with this? A random person wondered up and found a gun and killed Maggie and Paul??
A random person who wandered up; found a gun and killed Maggie and Paul while Alex stood there looking on?

Toast.

I think Cousin Eddy is going to testify that AM tried to kill him when he was fighting him for the gun and it went off and grazed AM. Seems to me that AM did not want any live witnesses to his evil deed in Moselle on 6/7. JMO
I'll be very interested to see if the injury really was a "bullet" graze and not some self-inflicted semi-deep scratch. I think medical people are on the witness list so perhaps their testimony (if allowed) will relate to this. Somehow I just can't see AM standing still while Cousin Eddy plays William Tell with a firearm. You could be right though and it may have been a reverse setup...wouldn't that be something!

In my opinion after having watched most of the trial, there are still jurors who are confused about who AM really is. They don’t have the background information that we have about AM. So far, he has not come across as a ‘unlikeable’ character. He has been portrayed as a good dad and good husband. Even with the Kennel video, there are jurors that are going to need to see a different side of AM in order to remove all unreasonable doubt. They need to hear more about his financial issues. It’s coming. JMO

Chris Watts and Scott Peterson faked a happy family but still murdered their families. I’m sure there are many more. I don’t buy the Murdaughs we’re a happy family.

Bubba.

Where was Bubba when LE arrived?

I suspect Alex called Bubba to himself so he could kennel him. If Cash was in the kennel next to the feed room, and Alex kennels Bubba, Alex has moved himself into range of Paul.

And here we are.

Paul wouldn't have seen it coming. Until he saw it coming.

If Alex ever had a soul, he gave it up.

Utterly soulless.

I think there's no could be about that reverse setup...it just is. AJMO

What about Gloria Satterfield and Stephen Smith. Will these deaths also be brought up along with finance information?

There's a jailhouse call between AM and his sister-in-law Liz where he describes his skull being fractured. Then Liz asks if he really went blind or if he had a near-death experience-- seeing a bright light and AM says he could only see dark. Seemed to me like AM was making things up about the experience but I think he typically exaggerates most things. MOO

Well, JMO from following other trials, but I think Waters just wanted to throw it out there for the Jury to ponder on / think about tonight.

I would not expect any of my children's friends knowing my financial situation, good or bad ( well, unless I won the lottery LOL )

So I would not expect any of PM's friends to know, at least at that particular time of the murders, as they probably all know now.

So it was Waters just tossing out the "idea" for a motive.
Especially after playing the video multiple times and 2 of Paul's friends testifying the voice is 100% AM's.

It was a GREAT Move, IMO

I mean, he murdered his immediate family and paid someone to attempt to murder himself. I'd say there's something wrong with him. He also probably never had any consequences in his life and those walls were quickly closing in.
Allegedly. He still has the presumption of innocence.

Hmm, MOOO, I wonder if, as Cathy Russon noted on twitter this morning:

"Alex Murdaugh arriving today. He was held for a few seconds after getting out of the van. In the past they've really rushed him in."

LE "checked" him and made him stand there at their command for a few seconds as one of them closed the front passenger door of the jail transport van, and before they moved forward they all (LE) looked at eachother and nodded it was time to move?

Because AM has been misbehaving or baiting them and chaffing at the bit a bit?

Maybe he's been getting a little impatient and slightly aggressive or assertive and pushing forward without permission, in the jail and between there and court?

And LE is "checking" him to see if he will behave better, or they'll put some more restrictions on his movements or restraints on him?

Just speculatin' while waitin' to see if he's been baitin' LE. He does seem like an arrogant person who looks down on everyone and is used to privileges. Also, he is probably really pissed off that any LE surrounding the case and trial would not be fawning over him since he is a "scion" of the legal scene and is now being treated like a common criminal.

What was the point of the Happy Birthday video?
I will speculate that it is to show just how unaffected and jovial AM can be a around people he has defrauded....no shame.... and the party was all about him.... Possibly, how even two weeks prior to the murders, no one would have ever suspected what he is capable of....

JMO. moo

Edited to add: I may be wrong, but I don't think defense offered any video. Only prosecution.

I disagree with Ruston. Viewing the video, it's evident he was held for a brief moment by the transport guards because they had to wait a moment for the guard at the courthouse to meet them at the gate entrance where they hand him off. It's the same hand-off procedure they've followed every morning. JMO

If they truly know nothing about Alex outside of this case they are seeing him as a loving father based on all the “awesome” relationships. Where was the text where it said AM is up to sonething? I missed some yesterday testimony and most this morning too. What day/witness was that presented?? Thx.

And my last post tonight.... WL would smile, almost fondly, when the videos would first come up on the computer. There is a distinct change in his demeanor when counsel is trying to get the Happy Birthday video to play audio, and AM starts moving/making faces, etc... IMO, it obviously made WL very uncomfortable. IMO, WL had never witnessed that behavior from AM before....

What was the point of the Happy Birthday video?
IMO the purpose was to show one big happy family -- no obvious animosity or feuds a couple of weeks before the murders. Implying a lack of motive.

He’s actually IMO, come across as very likeable, and his manners in the videos and audio are impeccable. I’m big on manners, and I was impressed.

But that just goes to show that a money laundering, embezzling, probable murderer of his own family members (among other crimes) can appear to be a pleasant person.

Apparently there’s not a correlation between good manners and decent ethics and morality.
