I like Paul Greer and the way he addresses the jury directly. As a person completely unfamiliar with guns and ammunition, I also appreciate his explanations.
He's great at presenting. He's your guy if you need someone to do a presentation for you.

And Buster is walking ahead of his gf and doesn’t seem to be concerned that she is getting rained on.
THIS! Basic manners...

I think the judge will keep out the Satterfield information as more prejudicial than probative because there is no evidence that the son contacted Alex about the money before the murders. Although I think it's relevant to show Alex's extreme financial strains and possible worries, the idea that he stole such a huge amount of money from the sons of his deceased housekeeper is so appalling -- I just think the judge will exclude it as too prejudicial. How truly horrible this all is. JMO.

I hope I won’t need any presentations in his area of expertise, but if I do, I know who to call. : D

Enjoying PG on the stand as he goes over as I call it the fingerprints of a weapon. Being a certified gunsmith, part time now I know that each weapon though they be the same exact make and model, caliber as well will show different marks and patterns on shell casings and bullets. Machining of the weapon isn't exact and leaves tooling marks on bullet shells as well as different marks on the back of the shell as the firing pin hits it. The lands and grooves as well are not perfect from model to model leaving marks on the projectile as it spin's through the barrel.

I was wondering why Buster was covered with an umbrella while the two ladies behind him were not. This is the south. I live in the south. Usually, southern gentlemen make sure the women are covered with the umbrella.

edited to fix spelling error
Do we really want to see that hair of Buster's when it's wet?

Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all the posters who are posting the Tweets and updates. I've watched on and off live, but you guys make it easy to follow along and your diligence is appreciated.

What does it matter when the Satterfield son called AM? AM has already admitted that he cheated them out of the money.

Wouldn't be surprised if he walks on the inside of her, leaving her exposed to the road- side of the sidewalk. Ole school we would place our lady to the inside close to the building leaving us exposed to possible threat's vehicles and such, guess those days are gone, sad to say.

His attorney, Eric Bland, posted that there are records that show Tony contacted Alex in June. Hopefully those records are more precise. Eric is on the list as a potential witness, so if Tony's testimony is admitted they could also call Eric up for details if more specific details regarding date exist.

How is the defense going to handle this testimony?

We met one day a month and were paid per mile from our residence to the courthouse, not compensated for our time.
In the Murdaugh case the jurors are at the mercy of the court M-F and as many hours as required. Some juries opt to meet on the weekends if they are trying to reach a verdict. Agree it's very demanding and I can only imagine how their lives are going to be impacted if they reach a verdict. I wouldn't want to be on that jury.
LOL I also served on the Grand Jury as foreperson for 1 year.

To me a big point about the shells and casings found by the bodies were also found down at the shooting range and up at the house where the boy's used to shoot off the porch. Shell casing and shotgun shell, fingerprints don't lie and sure the defense will say they could have been there, ok understand that but investigators can tell a freshly shot round from old rounds and casings. Fingerprint's as I say though the weapon may never be found.

Court is back in session.

Greer is testifying about firearms identification analysis, how SLED can view the microscopic markings a gun’s interior leaves on shell casings and compare them to other shell casings to see if they were cycled through the same weapon.

The state is building toward testimony that shell casings found near Maggie's body and elsewhere on Moselle show she was killed with a body that had been used on the hunting estate before - a Murdaugh family weapon.

Prosecutors have alleged that gun is a .300 Blackout that Alex Murdaugh bought for Paul and which remains missing. Murdaugh bought two .300 Blackout rifles for Paul, one for 2016 Christmas and another to replace that one in April 2018. Both are unaccounted for.

SLED's Paul Greer testifies the two shotgun blasts that killed Paul Murdaugh were fired from the same gun.

With all due respect, this is some brain-numbing testimony.

Is there no possible way to tell the jury what the point of all this is? I know what the point is, and I still am struggling to follow this line of questioning.

Finally, we get to the point. Greer testifies that the spent .300 Blackout shell casings had identical marks on them as the older casings found on the Moselle shooting range and by the Moselle main house. Greer testifies that shows they were all cycled through the same weapon.

Jim Griffin has raised objections to this testimony at several points throughout, by the way. Judge Newman has already ruled Greer's testimony is admissible and said that any further challenge to it will have to come on cross-examination.
