It does seem that if Cousin Eddie does testify to this information that it is over for AM. However, is he credible? Is he doing this because he will receive a lesser sentence on his own charges? MOO MOO MOO
Obviously by the bank records that were testified to, AM payed Cousin Eddie in excess of $250k for 'stuff', that's a fact. Cousin Eddie will get to testify as to what it was he was doing for those payments. I've seen a couple of interviews with him early on and he comes across as a pretty smart, genuine guy. He said he thought of Alex as a brother. (Notice that a lot of Alex's friends referred to him like that? He knew how to play people IMO.)

Of course if the State has promised him anything for his testimony, the Defense will pounce. It will come down to whether or not the jury believes any, some or all of his testimony.

I'm most curious as to what he'll have to say regarding the roadside 'shooting' incident. He was definitely there.

Each day, courtroom observers come and go, but three have been constants. One is a local woman who told me she was hoping to see the powerful fall. She might get her wish, eventually. Murdaugh is surely going to jail, but whether or not for murder remains to be seen. His indictments on about 100 charges related to other crimes, including money laundering, as well as stealing money from clients, friends, his own brother and the family law firm, could earn him more than 700 years in prison.

The cause of death of the housekeeper is still in question as well I believe. So sad for her sons, even though they finally got some money. It was obvious her one son has some intellectual/physical issues, but he did his Mom proud on the Stand.

Another question is , How loyal is he? What might AM have on him as well. Years of dark and dirty secrets bubbling up.

My concern is it all being seen as a blame game finger pointing contest and discounted. If there’s some proof brought along with the words then that would help.

Wasn't Cousin Eddie AM's go-to-guy for handling dirty work?

There's a lot that's creepy with AM. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He used his good old boy, aww shucks, friend, brother routine on every and anyone around him.

Alex is a serious manipulator/bully IMO. He used his position and influence to get people to do exactly what he wanted, even people who knew something wasn't quite right with what he was doing.

Karma baby.

Yes, quite the Wolf in Sheep’s clothing.

I guess we’ll see what AM’s lawyers will try to push and what the judge will stop…

Scroll down, a couple of good photos of Cousin Eddie

The NY Post is a Rag overall, but this article probably has some facts, and some truly Freaky Facts!
‘Alex Murdaugh is running half the drugs in this county.’

Anonymous source in Colleton County, SC

Sorry, but if this is true, where is all the money? Drug running is a very lucrative business.

This is making my head spin.

Someone mentioned a while back that they were disgusted at how these high priced lawyers sat back and watched while Gloria Satterfield's mobile home was foreclosed on after her death and her son Brian had to go live with relatives. I just wanted to clarify a point--those high price lawyers were Alex and Cory Fleming. Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter were not contacted by the boys and Gloria's siblings until mid/late August 2021, followed shortly thereafter by Bland and Richter filing against Alex and Cory. The mobile home was already gone by that point.

A staffer at the luxury retailer told Fox News Digital the last purchase that Maggie made was May 3rd 2021. She spent $3,041 on a shoulder handbag and Gucci slides.
^^rsbm
This seems to indicate that it wasn't Maggie who made the purchase that was circled in the credit card statement. I hope this matter is cleared up, it would be interesting to know who it was, and why this is relevant in this trial.
^^rsbm

We don't know the date of the unidentified credit card statement with the circled, $1,021 Gucci charge but we do know that MM also spent $3,041 at Gucci on May 3 -- only weeks before her murder.

As to why the unidentified charge statement located in the trash by investigators was deemed relevant by the prosecutor to get it on the record during Agent Croft's testimony, I think it could eventually tie to the in-camera (no jurors) testimony of witness J Seckinger, CFO of the law firm, if/when she's allowed to testify before the open court. Otherwise, it makes no sense why the state got it on record and moved on without further mention.

For example, Seckinger testified that AM would make personal purchases using his company credit card but when the firm would make inquiry, AM would promptly reimburse the firm.

I won't be surprised if Seckinger next testifies (in open court) how in 2021 (and/or since the boat crash), a pattern had emerged of AM using the company card more often for personal use (and perhaps by MM too).

In other words, I think the state wants to show how both AM's corporate and personal (financial) worlds were crashing down all around him.

I'm also recalling earlier stories about how both PM's and MM's lifestyles had been impacted approaching their deaths when suddenly PM's night on the town with friends would end with his credit card denied. And stories about how to her shock and dismay, MM herself was writing checks returned for insufficient funds.

Up until recently, I don't think this family had ever worried about money. And too many of us know the AM's of the world: the bigger the sin, the bigger the gifts that follow -- whether a couple of .300 blackout rifles at $10K or a $4,500 indulgence at Gucci.

The Murdaughs were a brand-- an indulgent lifestyle that could only end one way, horrifically. MOO

Depends on who you ask. My favorite one is the drug money is laundered through the local churches before getting to the real people pulling the strings. I don't know anything about that, but there are an inordinate number of churches around here, none of which are filled on Sunday mornings.

It's a little too much like tin-foil hat conspiracies for my taste, but it would be interesting if there's some truth to it.

If that’s your favorite which one do you feel is most believable?

On June 25, 2021 AM and son BM announced a reward.
18 days after the murders.

And they put an expiration date of September 30, 2021 !!

Alec may have gone to some rehab facility but I don't think he had an opioid addiction. He may be an alcoholic (like PM) but seriously doubt opioid. You don't get over that in just 10 days or a month in rehab. That's 90 days rehab and then OP therapy and daily Ala-Non meetings for months, and then a lifetime of addressing it.

The fact that he and his attorneys have said he HAD an addiction tells me he didn't. If he is actually in recovery (as in he went to rehab and embraced the program) he would be saying I AM an addict. Once a cucumber becomes a pickle, it's always a pickle. OMO. MOO.

Doesn't opioids make users sweat? If he was addicted to opioids I would think he'd be sweating a lot during that interview night of the shooting. Hot, humid, rainy, and opioids, no sweating?

I’ve heard that drug running stuff said about every seemingly successful person in my rural SC county from diner owners to the sheriff so I don’t really pay mind to it. I recall some pot runners who were loyal about tithes as well.

Edit, I was responding to the discussion from @Katrinepa, @Elley Mae, and @cocky0.

Alex Murdaugh told investigators three days after the murders he hadn't visited the dog kennels June 7, 2021, before finding his wife, Maggie, and his son, Paul shot to death.

He made a similar statement hours after the double slayings to SLED special agent David Owens, who also conducted the second interview.

Alex walked investigators through a timeline of his day. The disgraced lawyer said he ate dinner with Paul and Maggie at the main house.

Maggie, 52, was concerned about Paul's blood pressure, he added.

"His feet had swollen up recently, it was a big huge deal," Alex told Owen and SLED special agent Jeff Croft, who participated in the questioning.

They were all seated in Owen's patrol car at the hunting lodge of Alex's brother John Marvin Murdaugh.

Maggie left the house to go to the dog kennels, and Paul also left but he wasn't sure where he'd gone, he said on the recording.

Alex took a nap and when he awoke, he called and texted Maggie --- but she didn't answer, he told the SLED agents.

At 9:06 p.m. he left the main house to check on his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and lives 20 minutes away.

When he returned, no one was at the main house and he drove down to the kennels.

That's when he said he found his wife and son lying in pools of blood and brain matter and called 911 at 10:06 p.m.
Liar, liar… his ‘everything’ is sooo on fire!

SLED should have kicked everyone out of the house the night of the murders and not let anyone in until they did a search. They had a search warrant and should have executed it. The "voluntary search" with people in the house trailing after the SLED agent was not good enough IMO. This is where the Murdaugh influence came in to play I think. I really doubt "Joe Smith" would have been afforded this courtesy. JMO.

I don't think all of the financials misdeeds will come in, but I do think those that are involved around the timeframe of the murders and going forward will.
