JMO but she probably thought that AM owned the police.
He pretty much did IMO. I feel sorry for SS, she obviously cared about AM's parents and the fact that she is willing to take the stand and be honest speaks to her character.

It sounds like Alex was trying to 'bribe' her with offering to help her pay for her wedding, getting her a better job opportunity at the school where she works in order for her favorable 'memory' of things.

AM makes me sick, he's rotten to core.

I'm saying this now there's no telling what evidence has been "lost" at Almeda over the years.

IMO Alex set up his alibi with this witness by checking on 'Mom' then disposed of the evidence with an ATV somewhere on or near the property later.
Are we to think this testimony is not known to the defense, either by discovery or interviewing her prior to trial themselves?? If so she could have been scared for a long time. Maybe she is scared of AM in particular. I agree this lady is to be admired. I hope the jurors can relate to her and their chance to bring truth to this trial. JMO, it's time this family needs to be in their place.

Is this the video where the defense said they are working on a transcript? I need to see this video.

Also:
I'm calling it now, Shelly Smith should $ell the film rights to her story and EGOT Viola Davis can play her character.
No the Defense is working on getting the State a video or transcript of this witnesses interview about what she had seen.

I think the jurors can feel her anxiety and pain as well. She's a good witness for the State IMO.

Who determined that it was a raincoat?
I'm guessing SLED served a search warrant, found a blue raincoat hanging on the chair in a room at Alameda?

It is said that "The Devil was once an Angel!. The moment that AM forsake his soul and humanity for money and self- profit we may never know? but the results are known no doubt.

I hope the jurors can be brave and not be afraid of the Family or Alex and come to the correct verdict. Bless her heart, she s terrified having to get up there and tell the truth.

Now that the judge rules they have to hand over that tape to the prosecution…all of a sudden the defense CAN find it,
Again the defense opens a closed door and something they wanted to bury has to come into the light.

I think this family is DONE. I don't think they will be a threat, after the lives AM ruined, the money he stole from so many people, etc. ... I doubt this family will hold any clout at all. That family doesn't "own" anyone any more.

The tarp may have been used to haul bloody clothing and weapons away then returned to be hosed down. I'd be asking AM... Why you packing the tarp around?.
Yes
I think he premeditated it Dexter style.
Obviously he under-estimated the using of Shelly in his alibi.

Thanks my fellow WSleuthers for all the great comments!! Just wanted to add ... AM casually sliding into mamas' room the next morning, repeatedly mentioning his 'Alibi times' to Ms. Shelly reminds me of the night of boat crash emergency room visits he made ... just shoring up the narrative ... working it!!

This trial is intimidating on so many levels and has so many tentacles, I can only imagine how much anxiety these witnesses have been under. I, for one, am glad to see this power neutered. My mother grew up in Hampton County, I know it well.

Did that tarp not contain anything physically related to the murders?

He certainly was trying to work her, then she was so upset by what he was trying to do she told her brother, a chief of police, all about it. That in itself shows what AM did to her state of mind. He's always beenva good man to me but what is he asking me to do...and why!? AJMO

Yes, I don't like this tarp/raincoat thing.. she KNOWS what a tarp looks like. I can see that he could of, as some said, wear a big blue raincoat. It might be balled up INSIDE THE BLUE TARP. He wore to protect himself or cover himself.
Yes, Perhaps the blue raincoat was wrapped up in the blue tarp.

[...Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older
Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder...]

Ugh, yes, I can feel it. I can see why through this whole event with all involved. I so hope along with all the good people who live there and places like that with those kind of 'people' find that things change for the better, gets 'cleaned up'. Horrific frightening.

Oh I missed that her brother is chief of police! Whoa

Hahaha, the Defense flubbed that one up. The State requested a copy of the conversation the caregiver had and now they are having to produce it to the State. That makes me happy. I hated seeing the Defense trying to bully this witness.

MOO
Made me laugh too. The defense walked right into that and has themselves stuck :p
