I assume LE got a search warrant to seize the clothes and shoes that Alex was wearing in the Paul/tree video shortly before the murders. Although the pants he was wearing were pretty non-descript and he may have had several pairs, it would be interesting to know if they found the shirt and brown loafers he was wearing. JMO.

Harpootlian to Tony: you’re not sophisticated on this

be nice Harpootlian, this is hard enough for this young man
Or referring to him as a “child” before he took the stand. Just more evidence of DICK’S character, lack of integrity, arrogance, pompousness, ego, condescending and intimidation, derogatory soul. He's rotten to the core. Cannot stand him. He owes Tony an apology, but he doesn’t have a sincere bone in his body to conjure one up.

And what was his point even with the question about getting more than the $5.3 million? That Alex did him a favor by stealing from him???

  • #424
The judge didn't seem to think it was an issue since he refused to strike Tinsley's testimony.
They can impeach. That’s the remedy. What he did does not disqualify a witness. Witnesses can be interested & have a side etc. And good luck impeaching the guy for contributing to that woman! They are both just witnesses & under no obligations.

He was the LaFitte that got fired by Palmetto Bank for secretly funding AM's overdrawn account, and falsifying the loan documents, backdating them to make it look like the loan had been legit. He was obviously covering for AM.
And I believe appropriating funds himself illegally?

Total lack of everything on Harpo's part. No class or empathy in that man. AJMO That young man and his brother lost their Mom, she's gone forever.

Isn't it more believable that he lied to protect himself because he had just left prior to the murders? Less believable to me that he killed his own family, and that he had time to clean up a crime scene in 15-20 minutes.
IMO...Nope it's not

Tinsley seemed pretty smart, especially in his first go-around. I’d bet he has a prepared answer that the defense won’t like. So I hope they ask.

The donation is a powerful statement from Tinsley. If anyone knows the collateral harm AM has caused, it's him. He is just another witness in this trial. Good on him!

One theory floating around is that he had to make this story up to hide a worse truth, that he knows who the killers are and can't reveal it or else other families will die.
I haven’t heard that before, but if it’s floating around, I’m guessing AM tossed it out there. JMO.

‘Murdaugh Murders’ Saga: Alex Murdaugh’s Family Issued Warnings By Court

'Murdaugh Murders' Saga: Alex Murdaugh's Family Issued Warnings By Court - FITSNews

The decision to move the family back by several rows came following “repeated violations” of court rules, according to my sources – including improper talking, touching and transferring of items with the defendant. One family member is alleged to have passed an “undisclosed item” to Murdaugh through one of his attorneys – resulting in a court-ordered drug test of the defendant, whose alleged addiction to opioids has become one of the themes of these proceedings.

It is not immediately clear when Murdaugh was drug-tested, or what the results of that test were.

What happens if the Murdaughs cannot get their acts together?

“The next move for them will be out of the courtroom,” a source familiar with the situation told me.

To be clear: Not all members of the Murdaugh family are causing problems, my sources say.

Court officials have reportedly had no issues with either of Alex Murdaugh’s brothers – Randy Murdaugh or John Marvin Murdaugh.

“Randy and John Marvin have conducted themselves as gentlemen,” a source familiar with the situation told me.

In fact, John Marvin Murdaugh has reportedly told court officials he would sit wherever he was asked to sit – or give up his seat inside the courtroom voluntarily.

“The brothers are not the problem,” another source following the recent reprimands told me.

So … who is the problem?

According to my sources, Murdaugh’s sister, Lynn Goettee, has refused repeatedly to abide by court rules regarding communication and contact with her brother. Goettee was also identified by courtroom security as the family member who passed Alex Murdaugh the “undisclosed item.”

Upon being confronted and asked to cease such behavior, Goettee reportedly “became demonstrative.”

Buster Murdaugh is also becoming a problem, according to my sources. The surviving son of Alex Murdaugh did not want to be moved back several rows – and is said to have kicked over a water bottle in disgust upon being asked to do so by courthouse security.

Buster Murdaugh has also been accused of making an obscene gesture to one of the witnesses during an in camera session of court earlier this week (i.e. a session of court outside the presence of the jury). Murdaugh allegedly extended his middle finger to attorney Mark Tinsley during his testimony on Monday.

And the prosecution still says they might end until Wednesday. The jury has already forgotten about any murder evidence. Prosecution's only hope is to hit a home run with the closing statement, with a detailed timeline. IMO they can only get a conviction on the circumstantial evidence and the jury's contempt for AM. I agree the motive is very weak, after hearing so much about AM loved his family. AM already knew he would soon be found out. Why kill his family?
It doesn't make sense to me. I once thought this was open and shut. I don't now.

Nothing would surprise me at this point, nothing.

I follow this thread and thank you guys for such great information but I have not followed the trial primarily because IMO the motive is so weak, as to be close to unbelievable.

AM can't concede to being there at that time. As soon as the dog video was taken, within a minute and half, IIRC, there was no activity or movement of PM's phone by PM. His buddy was waiting on PM to send the video like he said he would. He texted and called PM, no response. AM was at the crime scene with the victims when they died. He didn't leave Moselle, texting MM as he did so, until just after 9pm. That all seems to be pretty damning evidence, IMO.
This is certainly damning evidence. The question is is the state burying the lede with all this financial crimes evidence!? Can the jury even remember this detail at this point in the trial? It seems like prosecution feels that if they can’t show motive (even though they are not required to prove motive) a jury won’t convict.

Is being murdered over a tight lid on ketchup bottle motive?

He was about to lose everything, everything. I don’t think AM could face world as a broke man but as a broken man thought he could survive and pay back in his mind.
