In addition to the sunflower ruse, I think AM also noted something about forcing Paul to go to the doctor for his blood pressure and swollen feet as an agenda item for the family get-together that evening. He was very pointed about mentioning this in one of the interviews and it seemed out-of-place in the conversation. I kept thinking, "What is he driving at with that?" I think it was an attempt to shift the notion from "I lured him here" to "We were going to express our health concerns as a united front as parents". It is super evil to use concern as bait in this case, not that we haven't already maxed out the evil scale with this one.

I too found the "blood pressure " conversation to be strange and out of place. I just watched it and have the link handy so will post it. About at the 12 minute mark.

I recall that AM responded by text to MM at one point on Monday afternoon that PM told him she was getting a pedicure (i.e., as in MM likely wanted AM to believe she had a long wait for her medical appointment).

It wasn't until I heard today that MM also had a manicure that might explain the wedding band left inside MM's vehicle on Monday. MOO
And the partial DNA under her nails! It could easily - likely- have been from the manicure.

Man this is worse than the 1st interview at the crime scene. Lies on top of lies on top of lies. It's more about what he didn't say then what he said. He just rambles and rambles about absolutely nothing.

Question: How would anyone but Paul know that both Maggie and Paul were even going to be at Moselle that night???!!!! Blanca knew but I doubt she called a hit man to come out there that night. Even IF Paul's friends and Maggies friends knew they were going to be there that night, they would have what, told the person who was going to kill them that they were going to be there!!!! No way!! No one else knew they were going to Moselle that night but Alex.
Somebody asked earlier about the identity of the dudes in the back seat and I can tell you that the party behind the detective in the front seat is AM's attorney, and the other is another SLED investigator named Jim.

ETA: More bits and pieces from AM's interview...

AM has no memory of his day at work on Monday-- yet we know he had a pretty serious conversation with the law firm's CFO.

AM is certain to name Blanca who will know when AM left for work.

AM states he left work early on Monday because PM was coming home and they drove around the property -- shooting, and checking on the corn and trees. But when pushed, it really means leaving the office sometime after 5 pm and riding around with Paul more than 20 minutes but less than 2 hours when they went to the house to have dinner with MM.

AM wants us to believe the dinner conversation was about the parents expressing concern for PM's high blood pressure and edema in his feet. Now that's rich coming from the dad that's about to blast his son's brains out of his head!

AM had a sense he heard "them" come back to the house about the time he was waking from his nap but when pushed as to whether or not it sounded like a vehicle, 4WLR, buggy, etc -- it's just a sense and not that he actually heard anything.

AM is definite about MM going to the kennels after supper but PM is left out of this memory. He doesn't know where PM went but he must have gone to the kennels since his body is found there.

Also, Buster makes the alibi phone call list when AM is driving to see Miss Libby and Ms. Smith (AM was certain to name Smith, the caregiver). Buster is allegedly living with his girlfriend and her mother in Rock Hill, buying his time until January 2022 when he goes back to law school, and working at Wild Wings in Rock Hill. We also know from jail calls that law school re-admission did not happen in January.

Thank you! Do you know which attorney he is?

If Alec was at his mother's, you know, for an hour and a half, and he returned, going directly to the kennels, how'd he know all the guns were accounted for? How'd he know his house wasn't ransacked, his gun room cleared out?
AM said he first went to the house, saw no one was there and then went to the kennels.

Is it just me or was their convo a bit insensitive, even with a possible murder suspect in the car. Lighthearted banter about their mutual acquaintances’ funeral and coffin while waiting for detective to return. Or was this maybe intentional to judge POI’s reaction?

I am not a hunter and know little about guns and shooting targets. But why did it take so many shots for the victims to be killed? Was that overkill or does it just take so many blasts? This sounds so awful.
As for MM... she just kept going. It wasn't overkill. It was the fact that MM wouldn't stop, wouldn't die.

After the testimony of the friend who was in law enforcement about how the kennels were usually cleaned, and the placement of the dog house when cleaning the kennels, for some reason, I think this will be significant. We know that at 8:40 pm Bubba was running around with a chicken in his mouth, but I haven't heard any mention of there being dog prints in the blood. Around MM or PM...

JMO....moo
So AM kenneled Bubba first, then carried out the murders.
State will mention this, I would think.

I think they were both caught completely off guard. In the video, everyone sounds happy, and basically laid back. They had no clue they were about to be murdered within minutes of each other.... Just so sad.
They had no clue: similarly the people he lied, 'stole money' had no clue.
Now the entire world is aware, thanks to this trial.
How can he continue pleading 'not guilty': typical 'con man' to the end.

I think he used separate weapons to lead investigators to think there were two shooters. MO
And I think that was the whole idea.

When this first broke...I thought oh no 2 shooters, oh no this is retaliation for the boating accident, oh no Alex or Buster will be next, oh no people have taken the law into their own hands and wanted vengeance.

That is what I was supposed to think.

Same with the road side fiasco. I thought hmmm... They must have come for him. Next will be Buster, they really are trying to eliminate each family member, omg!

Then someone on Websleuths said: "Wait a minute. That car has tires that don't/can't go flat. This is fake this is a set up."

If I had any suspicions along the way they all came to a head, with a car that can't have flat tires.

Yeah, were there 2 shooters? No, just one desperate, determined and dangerous dad...and husband.

As far as AM mentioning that he and Maggie were worried about Paul’s high blood pressure and swollen feet, imo those could be classic signs of alcohol abuse. Although Paul was only 22, it’s been said that he had been drinking heavily for years. ( sadly)

Perhaps it wasn’t so much a civil sit down dinner conversation with Paul about his health and drinking, but maybe an ANGRY Alex confrontation about it?

Sometimes spontaneous comments leak a bit of truth.

The boat crash was in February 2019.

Paul seemed to continue his reckless behavior even while out on bond. May 2020 he is pulled over for speeding ( while towing a boat!)

Not trying to victim shame, just thinking about AM’s attitude towards his son., perhaps fed up?

As I listened to Dr. Riemer this afternoon, all I could think about was the utter bewilderment and terror PM and MM must have felt during the last moments of their lives.

JMO.
I hope AM relives those moments constantly, day and night.
For what!!!
Was it worth it?

Still being behind bars for a long time, no matter the outcome of this trial.
The 'debts' did not disappear suddenly, with further trials to happen.
YIPPEE. :)

My heart goes out to Blanca. Who raced over to cook for Paul (and Maggie)... their last supper. And then Alec has the nerve to ignore her genuine grief at the loss of people she genuinely cared for, to "clean up" after him. No doubt he thought he could count on her to further his narrative that Maggie was staying there. He's cruel.

JMO

The thing that struck me about this is he wanted it to clean up - steaighten up like Maggie does it. Like wanted it to look like she was there(all the time). If I’m not mistaken Maggie was at Edisto the weekend and did AM say he and Buster and or Paul went to ballgame?
Sounds like AM was alone at Moselle more then not.

Great assessment of this video. I had been thinking that the whole idea that he was at the house but thought he heard "them" was his way of trying to say that someone else was on the property. He heard them but know it could not have been them so it had to be the killers.

Also, all the gun talk about what they had was interesting. His son was the scape goat for all---he lost a gun, always left things around and not put away, great kid but very private with the phone--- as if he may have had a double life going on, etc. Innuendo, time and again. He is so manipulative and gets more so as the interviewers seem to not be liking him for the crime. It leads him to say how he said he touched his son's phone but didn't try to open it....while once again disparaging Paul, his phone use, etc. but he can't recall where Paul kept the phone, which pocket. If it were my kid, I would be remembering every little thing if they were killed-- what he smelled like, how he held the phone, which pocket, that I was at the kennel and left just before he was killed.

Was he angry about the confrontation (if there was one) about his health? This killer has so much to say but very little to say. It is clear to me that it was all obfuscation.

Why was Paul snap-chatting that conversation out at the kennel? And, thank goodness he did.
